I haven't played it in a long time, why is that?
Jet Force Gemini was built with the Nintendo 64 controller's quirks in mind, so translating those controls to a different controller is going to make the game incredibly finicky to control. Rare got around this in Rare Replay by patching in an alternate control scheme that brought it closer to modern shooters (they didn't do that for Conker, which made the Spooky and War chapters absolute ass), but that's not likely to happen as NSO's offerings don't get patched unless the emulation's really subpar or a game breaking glitch is introduced.

They bothered to add an alternate control scheme to better resemble modern shooters, I doubt the same would happen here.
I didn't bother with that crap and it played just fine

I have some knock off brand joy cons from Amazon...still going like 2 years later. I had a gamecube styled joycon but that ended up losing trigger function on R1 in a year. total cost for both was like 70$ and i got the wireless switch gamecube controller for when i want to use that.

fuck the joy cons by nintendo.

Just posted about how I like the XC3 trailer in another server and has the resident pokemon fan sarcastically respond "looks good, shame the graphics look like dog water" (same wording as when I said Arceus had dogwater graphics). Same guy has also been claiming I'm critical of every series but I think Xenoblade can do no wrong.
… what exactly was his point? Even if Arceus plays exactly how a lot of people wanted it to, it objectively looks like shit. The overworld might as well be out of a charmless ps2 game.

Maybe, but I don't want to imagine how it'd play without that N64 controller.

Most the N64 games that deal with 3D space work better with a N64 controller. The button mapping on new controllers is clunky. Star Fox 64 in particular is bad.

C-buttons are effectively your second analog stick despite being a d-pad. And the Z-button being on the back of the controller is hard to emulate. So the remaps come out funny.

And of course, there's no option to remap any of the controls (in the app, you can do so in system settings but that fucks everything else up too), leaving you to either deal with awkward layouts or shell out $50 for one of those Nintendo 64 controllers. The same controllers that remain consistently sold out, thus leaving you to either wait it out for the rare moments they're available (assuming they don't get gobbled up instantly) or pay out the ass to some scalpers.

N64 games on the Switch can be a rather frustrating affair, to say the least.

I have had the N64 controller store page as my homepage on my PC and phone for over a year and so far no luck.

The other controllers for NES, SNES and SEGA are super though. So I would really like the N64 one.

I played through SF64 on 3DS and it played pretty well, as I recall. I'm sure it feels better on original hardware though, I like the N64 controller.

You played the remake, which probably rebuilt the controls from the ground-up:

He's a fanboy. And fanboys can't take criticism. Kinda ironic considering how I then get accused of being a hypocrite but I often find myself the biggest critic of games which I love.

Also probably doesn't like how I've been pointing out most of the games he's been hyped for lately are going to come out rough, or outright shit. Took him 6 months to admit I was right about BF2042.

Yes there were two modes in that game. One for 3DS mode and another for N64 mode. Using the original N64 configuration was noticeably more difficult.
Was it? I never really noticed myself.

The one control difference I remember there being for SF643D was using the built-in gyroscope for steering, but I always left that feature off.

Nintendo Direct Mini To Air Tomorrow, June 28

Focusing on third-party releases

Get to mining that salt, bois - since it's only third-party releases getting the spotlight, it oughta be plentiful
At best, I am hoping to see more Mario + Rabbids and get a release date. I have to imagine it and Bayonetta 3 will be showcased. Otherwise, the presentation will likely just be an uninteresting JRPG slideshow with random sports game in to fill time.

Imagine a Melee remaster gets announced with multiple roster DLC passes.
Yeah for content that was already in the game itself in 2001 of course. I swear even As fun as Ultimate is it is noticeably easier than every other smash game, especially Melee and Brawl, I miss the mechanical deft and intricacy of old smash.
