You get around the gacha system by finishing the quest where you raise a cow and turn it into a boss creature. Then you just spam the launch cycle and have it drop all the gacha shit within 10 minutes. It takes forever to open a few hundred of them though since the animation is unskippable.

Honestly I found the multiple different types of leveling systems way more annoying since many are tied to stuff like the mercenaries stuff.
Actually got KOS-MOS randomly with not even doing the gacha farm. Was pretty nuts.

I love the Xenoblade games. 3 coming so soon by surprise makes me so happy.

The Gear Blade forms are great. The MC turning into straight up Evangelion copy-paste is hilarious.

The gameplay isn't for everyone, but if you like animoo or like Xenogears, then Xenoblade 1 and 2 are worth watching all the cutscenes on YouTube or something. I didn't like X though, even though having mechas back was awesome. 3's Blade forms are good enough for me though.

I'm surprised there's no Persona 5 Portable trimmed down for Switch. It's getting spinoffs so they must know there's a market there.
Especially since Scramble is on Switch. Weird to have a "sequel" to a game but not the game itself.

How do you recommend I get into the Xenoblade games? I've still got the first one for the Wii in shrink wrap. I'm not even sure why I bought it. Every time I see it played I feel nothing.

Are there re-releases I can get? I'm probably going to keep my copy wrapped since it has made it this far already.

Get Xenoblade 1 Definitive Edition on Switch. It looks exponentially better, adds some QOL, and even adds more story. Not only is it a great place to start because its 1, but also its just easier to play and get into. 2 has some systems and gameplay elements that I've had friends not able to endure.

2 has multiple leveling systems for specific blades that are all tied to different Gameplay elements with some elements requiring you to level up stuff in those separate systems before you blades can unlock moves. It gets tedious, especially since there's BIS combinations for blades for Rex.

I'd honestly say if you only have the Switch do 1 first then do Torna, then if you could tolerate those then do 2.

Torna comes before the events in 2 so chronologically it's not going to spoil anything later despite it coming after 2 was already out. Torna has the most refined battle system out there. It's still a pretty lengthy game in it's own right.

But if you have a wii-u, get a copy of Xenoblade X before you play Torna or Xenoblade 2. X has rough edges but it's the best exploration the series has ever had.

I do have a Wii U. So I should get 1 for Switch and if I like that, grab X for Wii U, then play 2: Torna, then wait for 3.

I remember getting Xenoblade and The Last Story around the same time. And I ended up playing The Last Story. That was fun!

Yes pretty much. X has the most in depth combat for the series since you're switching from human to robot and both have their own move sets and you can customize your robot's loadout and this is even before they can transform and fly.

Where the fuck is Persona 4 Golden on Switch? That would make all the sense in the world.
I have no choice but to assume Sony pays for console exclusivity for mainline Persona games. P3P, P4G, and some form of P5 should have been on Switch already, and it makes no sense they aren't.

I think Atlus have outright said that Sony doesn't pay for exclusivity though. And there has never been an official announcement from Atlus, Sega, or Sony themselves stating such. At this point, I think that Atlus just keeps the games Playstation exclusive because the series started on Playstation, in the same vein that the mainline SMT games, and most spinoffs, are released on Nintendo consoles first and foremost (and sometimes exclusively) because that's where the series started.

If there's no deals then that's crazy, it makes no sense at all. If that really is their reasoning then Atlus is run by someone with a mental problem, literally OCD or something.

Sony is heavily involved with the IP. They clearly have paid for some things with regards to marketing and other costs. It was even stated as such with the last batch of Persona rumors that amounted to the port of the second fighting game that sony has kept an iron grip on the main franchise.

Atsushi Morita, Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia president, then appeared as a guest. Expressing that the Persona series is not only important for Sega/Atlus, but also for SIE as a platform holder, he stated: “The Persona series is one of the Japanese IPs that can compete internationally.” He also said: “The IP has walked alongside PlayStation ever since the first entry in 1996. I hope that we can continue walking together in the future.”
I mean when 5 outsells all other games that Atlus has put out in it's whole history, that's not something they're going to want to jeopardize. Especially since Persona has been getting anime installments for the last few games, sony has a wide array of companies and platforms just for anime.

How would releasing the games on other systems jeopardize the franchise? It's not like Sony is instrumental in their creation, at the very least not anymore if they ever were.

If there really is no deal then it should be in Switch, it is common sense. It'd probably sell better there than anywhere else.

You can pretty much jump on with any game, but I usually recommend Xenoblade Definitive Edition for people who want to try out the series.

First game is the most consistently great experience to me. While 2 and X both have some places where they reach higher peaks, but also come with more notable issues. All of the games are fantastic, but 2 and X have more issues you need to look past which is made a lot more easy when you know what makes up a Xenoblade game.

Just be aware that all three have significant differences. Xenoblade is the kinda series that has a core identity but will mix up a lot between entries.

That statement says absolutely nothing about Sony being materially involved in the IP, only that its been really important to Playstation.

Considering it's been tied with the free Playstation 5 PS+ and other deals, they've clearly been working stuff out.

Sony also tends to foot the bill for live events like that. They did similar with Capcom and Monster Hunter World.

It pisses me off because a P3/P4 remaster on Switch would be a sliced of fried gold and sell like hot cakes.

But because it's too obviously a good idea and would be too big of a success, it'll probably never happen.

Bringing up Monster Hunter World just proves my point. Sony had no involvement in that game's development, and its not Playstation exclusive. Its not even a console exclusive
