Finished playing Serious Sam 3 on the Switch, it's part of the Serious Sam Collection (containing the HD versions TFE & TSE and SS3, including all the DLCs) which is itself a port of the Fusion 2017 on PC. Just like The Talos Principle, it's not a well-optimized Switch port albeit I still found it largely playable, both handheld and docked. The first levels in the city could often chug but the framerate improved noticeably once in the desert.

Video is recorded docked with Graphics mode enabled. There is a Performance mode in the graphics settings for a smoother framerate at the cost of some disabled decals effects. The game includes local split co-op and online, but I haven't tried the former to check how badly it would run on the console and the latter was unsurprisingly dead.

This is what I worry, that it's the end of the line for this series and we'll never get an all new game instead of remakes.

As a long time fan of the series it really pisses me off, it seemed too good to be true for Advance Wars to come back after so long and it figures it'd get all fucked up, it's stupid because the series is so cartoony and has nothing to do with the real world.

Advance Wars 2 and the DS game came out at the height of the Iraq war and no one cared, there was no controversy, granted that was pre social media but it's still stupid.

Serious Sam 3 was released in 2011, like yeah that's old but not as old as the game literally titled Caveman Games

How are the no more heroes 1 and 2 ports on switch? saw that they are on pc too but heard the ports are not great.

I'm not a fan of shooters, but games like Serious Sam and Earth Defense Force are the exception because they're crazy fun.

They're both good Switch ports and let you use the traditional control scheme over the wiggling shit if you prefer that way.
I didn't enjoy the second game as much as I did with the first one though, with the lack of town hub and the retro minigames that replaced the part-time job activities from NMH1.

Shin Megami Tensis and Personas are okay. But how about a real deal Etrian Odyssey game for Switch?? Or like... Odin Sphere or something I actually play...
 
I'm surprised there's no Persona 5 Portable trimmed down for Switch. It's getting spinoffs so they must know there's a market there.

The EO series should remain dead. I have absolutely no faith in post-Sega Fatlus to not ruin the series further. I don't even know why SMTV sold that well considering how mixed I heard the opinions on it.

Nintendo just announced that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will be released on July 29 as opposed to the originally planned September date. If I were a betting man, I’d say that Advance Wars will probably be slotted for September now

The game is going to come with many months of patches down the line. An early release for an RPG makes me wonder just how much still needed to be fixed.

Xenoblade 2 had awful portable mode settings. I think if anything that's probably what's going to be rough at launch.

That's wrong though as usual. You've been able to order/preorder off of the My Nintendo Store and the eShop for a year or more.

I still have yet to play Xenoblade 2, only finished Definitive Edition on Switch last year, so I don't mind being behind the curve.
Eshop also estimates the game to be 15GB big digitally

Cool. I guess they’re moving shit around since BotW2 got pushed back. Can’t bring myself to finish 2 due to the voice acting being ass and the gacha shit being really annoying.

Still waiting to hear anything about Bayonetta 3.

You get around the gacha system by finishing the quest where you raise a cow and turn it into a boss creature. Then you just spam the launch cycle and have it drop all the gacha shit within 10 minutes. It takes forever to open a few hundred of them though since the animation is unskippable.

Honestly I found the multiple different types of leveling systems way more annoying since many are tied to stuff like the mercenaries stuff.
