It's also the ability to pause and resume the game exactly where it was left off earlier, which tend to be overlooked very often compared to the portability itself.You underestimate the wide appeal of portable consoles. Having the ability to play your favorite games anywhere is too good of a deal for a lot of people and the Switch's success reflects that.
Hell, Valve is going for that same crowd with the Steam Deck. At this point, Nintendo would be stupid to not keep running with the switch's main function for the eventual upgrade.
I don't think I would have been able to finish the same amount of games if not for that. Not having to worry about savepoints or that the level is taking longer than expected before going to work/bed or other irl stuff
