How much better is the vita screen the the OLED switch's? Or is it the other way around? I don't have one, so i'm on the onset that Vita games on the switch can only look as good as they did on it when played on an OLED switch/TV.
The vita screen is better because even when you turn it off, the image stays there.

Puni boss nearly wiped out my party with its AoE effects, counters against physicals, all while activating its aura shield no less than twice (which was easier to break with physical attacks than skills).

The Vita PCH-1000 had green spots splattered all over the screen (like someone sneezed close to it if I were to describe roughly) whenever it faded to black or dark colors in a dim-lighted room. The Switch OLED model doesn't have that flaw.

In both cases though, you really have to intentionally go out your way in order to damage the screen with burn-ins.

I'm really expecting that to bring out some form of lawsuit since Nintendo is striking down videos that show how to get emulators running on Steam Deck.
You assume Valve doesn't have a mountain of money even enough to counter Nintendo's lawyer army. It will be a nothingburger case even if it does happen.

Or that Nintendo even sees the Steam Deck as competition.

Nintendo would sooner go after the emulators than use them as an excuse to probably take down a console that will likely only be a niche pick.

In an era where even basic PCs are expensive the steam deck at its current locked price is a viable pick. The deck will be more popular than you might think if Valve can pull off localizing the manufacturing for it.

I'll hold you to that. I wish nothing but good for the deck, tbh.

House of the Dead is the brand new 30 year old game that I am most interested in, since Pac-Man Museum+ is too misogynist to include Ms Pac-Man. I only hope it doesn't turn out too Chinese or anything.
They released 2 and 3 on the wii and never did the original.

Now I bet Switch won't get 2 and 3.

Honestly though Gunblade NY is the superior rail shooter.

Previous report from May 2021 listed these extra points:
-Coming first to Switch, currently testing on 4 different platforms. Likely a Steam release.
-UI has been redesigned.
-Classic Mode (original game with updated graphics).
-Horde Mode (fast-paced, 15 times the number of enemies. Unlockable characters and other things).
-Several control options offered, including JoyCon sticks and gyro controls.
-Remade voice acting, purposely "bad".
-Music "extremely inspired" by the original, no option to listen to original's OST.
-The engine is Unity, like Panzer Dragoon: Remake.
-HD Rumble for gun shooting effects.
-For research, the team played the original game via original hardware and emulation.
-No option to play the original HOTD; sources lost and it's "impossible" to rip assets.
-"Nostalgic Mode" with lower-poly graphics considered if there is enough demand.
-A demo of the remake may be considered if enough people request it on Discord and Twitter.
-The remake team has worked with Sega, but have not really talked to staff at Sega AM1, HOTD's original developer.
-It was always planned for HOTD 1 + 2 remakes to be released separate.
-The ragdoll physics when killing enemies will not be changed; it is a "critical" feature for some weapons. Boss death animations will be unchanged.
-Crosshairs are different colors for each player.
-Blood color can be changed.
-The controls were "tricky" to implement, but the remake team is not concerned over any possible backlash.
-The HOTD remake improves daily, and is claimed to be in a better state today than when Panzer Dragoon: Remake was launched.

A pity for no OST option and the lack of ability to play the original games either.
Looking forward to Gal*Gun Double Peace next week in the meantime anyway.

I had no real hope of it being accurate to the original, I just hope the controls work ok and the Switch version runs decently enough.

Valve barely does anything anymore. They will rely on everyone else to do the heavy lifting and that is why the Steam Deck will never be fully realized.
IDK compared to the index the price point of this device is pretty reasonable, and it is a capable standalone system rather than relying on other hardware (a good desktop in the index's case).

Console performance and capability is not equivalent to useless gimmicks. Its clear that even Nintendo struggles with the Switch's performance, so this is a real issue. That being said, Nerrel did an entire video pointing out what was wrong with the Wii U and how it failed miserably, and how Nintendo themselves couldn't figure out how to do anything worthwhile with game pad (while reviewing Star Fox Zero at the same time):

I really don't know why everyone's so assblasted about SFZ's controls. You get used to them pretty quickly and it's actually really nice being able to make fine-tuned adjustments. It's basically the only time I've ever actually liked the "move your screen around like an asshole" method of controlling a game, except for New Pokemon Snap where it makes sense in-universe.

Because they were fucking stupid, unintuitive, and unnecessary. Everybody just wanted a traditional Star Fox game, damnit, not a tech demo for a console that was already four freaking years old.
Unpopular opinion fellow Redditors, but I think SFZ was one of the better games in the series. Like I said, I really didn't have any difficulty figuring out the controls. Tilt to aim. Easy peasy. It's especially nice because now you can dodge and aim independently. They could have done the same thing with a two stick scheme, but whatever. Either is fine. If you can control two sticks at the same time, you can control one stick and one gyro.

The only downside is that the game is designed to be so specific to the Wii U that it's nearly impossible to emulate, and I don't really care to bring out my Wii U just so I can play one of the few good games that system had on it, so in my basement it sits. Maybe it could work with something like a Switch pro controller with its built in gyro, but I have no idea how you'd handle the second screen.

Nintendo needs to actually do something different with Star Fox rather than just remake the first game for the 10th time.
Won't get any arguments there. That series deserves a lot more attention than it's getting. What I really can't believe is how few people are making clones of it. If someone wants to make a game called Space Coyote and have it be a modern day reimagining of Star Fox 2, that would be super.
