What about Pikmin 4? Wasn't he pretty involved?
I think he's listed as a general producer for a few projects that involve characters he created, and he no doubt has some involvement, but Star Fox Zero was the last time he was directly in charge of a big console release. He was listed as both supervising director and the producer directly in charge of it.

Depends on how big the second screen is. If the Switch doesn't slide open more then 75% it'll be pretty sturdy
I still don't know man. A tablet already is in the danger zone around a small children like my nephews, you're adding complexity with sliding screens that's just begging to be broken. And with Nintendo, small children are a massive audience, always have been. A hinge at least has some sturdiness to it, it's pretty simple as a mechanism. I'm just thinking engineering wise.

They should make the joycons little GBAs so you can hold it sideways to play DS games or new dual screen games, take the joy cons off and play multiplayer GBA or GBC games or new multiplayer games where you have your own screen, you can detach one joy con to play a single screen game in portable mode, and then you can use each joycon as a second screen if you want when the main unit is docked, or just a pro controller or something for more traditional experiences that use a single screen. The GBA joycons can by tied to the main unit and use whatever witchcraft they used to make the Wii U tablet run without any lag. It should ship with a traditional controller for TV play out of the box. Make is backwards compatible with Switch. Add some GC, DS, Wii & Wii U games to the premium online subscription. Sell it as the system that can play every Nintendo system ever released.

Take a look at my retarded MS Paint diagram and weep as it dawns on you that this is absolutely what they are going to do.

Not a bad idea actually, but what may be even better is taking the regular Switch design and reworking the Joycons into the equivalent of mini Wii U pads, that way everyone doesn't need to crowd around a tiny tablet.

I mean it could work. I just think tying the controls to the console itself would drive costs up. That is a pro of joycons, completely replaceable. You don't need to toss the console if the joycon breaks, only the joycon itself. Manufacturering wise its a major plus. Still its interesting.

Dual screens suck. Best I can say is that having a pause/status screen with stupid touch screen "buttons" take up 50% of your real estate isn't enough to ruin most games. Only good thing to come of that gimmick was drawing dungeons on virtual graph paper. I hate Nintendo now, we are mortal enemies.

Counterpoint: Star Fox Zero, the greatest dual screen game ever conceived.

>Not enjoying spending time with Dr. Kawashima in the Brain Age games
>Not enjoying flicking/pulling/swiping/poking things in WarioWare Touched

Sir, do you know what "fun" is?

And was absolutely terrible, only strengthening the point.

Are second screens going to become the new Geno in Smash?
As in the people complaining about them not being here are only a fraction as loud and annoying as the people complaining about those people? I hope not.

Either way, dual screens aren’t coming back. They’re great when a game is designed around them (like a lot of DS games, especially early ones), but they’ve run their course, even ignoring how many times more difficult the whole hybrid thing would make it. Best case, we’d get some DS remakes that otherwise couldn’t happen. Worst/realistic case, first party games pull a Color Splash/Star Fox Zero and lock basic functionality behind a second screen to try to justify its existence, third parties ignore it, and people are expected to pay for a bulky power-hungry gimmick they probably don’t care about. And after the Wii U, Nintendo knows all this.
