Dragon Quest 12 was announced to be the one that's gunning for the western market. Which was why all those false stories popped out about it becoming an ARPG when that wasn't true and they staying with turn based.

Sony is making new PS5's with a different chip set so they're quicker to manufacture and easier to source parts from. As far as how many quarters the shortage stays around for is anyone's guess. But since PC card manufacturers are not promoting stuff from 2011 anymore, we're past the peak.

Nintendo has pretty much put out a new console every 5-6 years since they started. Why would that stop them now when they're already gathering parts that show it's signfigantly different than the original. the 400-500 range for a new system isn't out of the norm especially since they go for far more on the secondary market. They've dumped more money into gathering parts for current switch models and the newer model, because the old switch model needs it's components revised and reworked as well.

They keep trying to push the system to connoisseurs except the quality and quantity isn't there. I've got over 60 games for the system, it's not being primarily targeted by third parties in japan. The stuff I have for the PS4 is roughly triple of what I have on the switch.

The Switch isn't even getting the Kiseki re-releases over there. And Most stuff winds up digital only.

Don't forget the scalping. Anytime Nintendo releases something that might be even slightly limited in production is immediately gets scalped and sold for triple the price because these idiots will buy it anyway. I think that Nintendo may still maintain a console niche for younger or more 'casual' gamers who can't be bothered to look up anything such as PC system specs.

In comparison, the consoles like Sony and Xbox are competing more directly against the PC or "hardcore gamer" market, and since PCs are much more versatile for anyone who can be bothered to learn their system specs or perform something like a RAM or video card upgrade (not even mentioning stuff like mods, and unofficial online multiplayer servers) their competition is much stiffer. In comparison, Nintendo isn't even playing in the same league to begin with.

Looking at the hacker scene, they do seem to think the Switch Pro will get announced.

Though it's still the same SOC (Mariko, which is the Lite and the "Increased battery capacity" regular Switch), and while the RAM is being produced in 10nm now, Nintendo couldn't be bothered to up it past the current capacity. If you got a hacked Switch, you can already overclock it to "Pro" levels.

The claim of DLSS is also doubtful since that requires tensor cores, which the X1+ lacks to begin with. Makes sense, changing GPU architectures would require every single game to be recompiled to run on something different.

And even then, you're still wrong. Nintendo would be crazy to make BOTW2 or Prime 4 a new platform exclusive after how much they have hyped them up for Switch, and in fact, has a history of doing the opposite.
