Nintendo wanted the chinese market. I guess they were tired of seeing chinese rip-offs and thought that they could sell them their own stuff but it would come with a catch: it has to be made in China.
I remember a story that happened to Airbus, they wanted to sell their planes to chinese airline companies but China requested that they would manufacture every part of the planes in China. When they signed the deal, Airbus found out that the chinese already had the blueprints of each of their models.
Anyone mad that the direct didn't have a 30min BOTW 2 gameplay trailer or a super Mario remastered collection announcement has no one to blame but themselves
As someone who probably enjoys his Switch the most out of his consoles and has liked Nintendo since I was born basically, I find Nintendo fanboys to be the absolute dumbest of the big three fanboys.
Like, how does a casual like me hear that this is going to be a 10 minute direct with no first party titles but all of the hardcores missed it?

Taking them apart, you'll end up with a labor-heavy product with a ton of small, custom parts. Yet, they didn't design an analog that would fit durability standards and just went for the smallest, cheapest available on the Chinese market. How those passed QC is puzzling considering launch revisions also had poor signal on the left one.
Also, the Switch really did bring out something weird out of people.
I only know Arlo as that weird muppet who Youtube decided I needed to know wiped out his stores inventory of Starlink on an impulse. He seems like the last person who I'd go to for Nintendo is doomed opinions.

I've been saying this for awhile that the Nintendo fandom just up and fucking leaves RPG series in the ditch unless they were part of a major nostalgia boner or corporate push.
It fucking mind boggling. I've collected all the exclusive RPGs from the SNES onward and the switch is finally getting a half decent amount after how many decades.
The only GameCube games I liked are all on other systems as well, and the only Wii games I liked were rail shooters, namely House of the Dead: Overkill and the "Chronicles" games for Resident Evil
Granted, I grew up on PS1 and PS2 and I generally like the dark and edgy shit like your GTA and Resident Evil or weeb games like Final Fantasy, but I honestly think a lot of the N64 hype is due to Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart, and Super Mario 64 (and Majora's Mask too, probably)
I will admit, Doom 64 is pretty cool and I did actually like their port of RE2 with the extra files and the extra colors of blood.
The Wii's massive surprise success at launch to where it won the console war right out the gate is also what more or less cemented Nintendo's reliance on gimmick consoles although they've gotten slightly better with third-party options with the Switch.
They go on this rant about their current video game console and say "I'm going to X console now!" Like Nintendo personally is going to appease this ONE guy and get him to stay.
If you want to buy a PS5, have at it. Nobody cares why. Or at least the way THEY do it.

Its funny, I firmly view the N64 in the same light I do the SNES and NES (and Genny, etc.) but look at the PS1 as the birth of modern gaming despite actually having released earlier. Its carts versus CDs a bit, I guess, but the games also just have different feels to me. Like it was the PS1 style that went on into the future, even on Nintendo platforms.
You mean harassing Nintendo’s Twitter and starting war with fans over Smash Bros.. Then after that they get mad when FE fans like Byleth and post memes mocking them as they are being cruel and people are allowed to like/dislike things. Yeah okay, where was that mentality in the community when 3H was releasing? When FE fans get attack, the heads of the Smash community turn a blind eye, but when FE fans post “Hoes Mad” they are being disrespectful and ruining discussion.
So in short, Smash has tainted the Nintendo community completely.
I'm not quite sure what your point here is. Are you saying that Smash community heads should have said something? Because as far as I know, there are no heads of the Smash community. But prominent figures like Alpharad did support Byleth. But a lot of these figures also mocked anyone even slightly disappointed in Byleth, so it's just hypocricy.
Spergs gonna sperg, but that was a pretty shit Direct. SMT, sure that's good, but everything else was laughable. Yes I know it was focusing on 3rd party games, so where the hell is Bayonetta 3? It's been three years since the reveal and we've got nothing.
I don't know what these people are so worked up. it was a third party focused direct, there's only ever a one or two things of worth in ANY direct showing multiple games, main series Shin Megami Tensei has debuted on Nintendo every time besides Nocturne, and look at that, the remaster debuts on Nintendo.

Nintendo could want to get China but the process of having games approved is a nightmare there, the only advantage they have is that Tencent is bankrolling nintendo there and the commies dont fuck to much with them, the other problem is that instead of waiting shitload of time for getting games approved Chinese gamer decide to go "fuck it" and import it
Doesnt help that the first batch were literally Nvidia SHIELD K1 tablets with fancy joycons, after Nintendo got the deal with them they stopped producing it and the only shield you could get was the TV one
Apologies in advance for the tism, but Nintendo fans are a favourite topic of mine to rant about.
There are many kinds of Nintendo fan. You already identified the two main kinds in the OP. Consoomers and cynics. I’d say there is a third kind, a variant of the two I call “nostalgic gen-x fanboy”.
These are the Moviebob’s of the world. Like cynics, all they do is complain about the lack of Nintendo games while refusing to play any other console, but like consoomers, they re-buy their NES collection for $8 a rom on every new piece of hardware without question.
I don’t want to turn this into a Moviebob thread, but he is the ur example of this kind of behaviour. Lamenting the death of 8-bit pixel art platform games, while refusing to look at games like Shovel Knight and any of the hundreds such games on Steam. They will bemoan the death of creativity and originality, and complain about all the sequels and remasters released these days, but then only buy sequels and remasters of their nostalgic favourites.
There seems to be some overlap with the blackpill doomsday cultist type of gamer who prays for the day when the crash will come again, wiping away the scourge of Call of Duty and PubG, then Iwata will rise from the ashes and reign for a thousand years.
I know there’s some division on the farms over games as art, but the Nintendo community is almost the mirror image of hipsters that look down on anything that isn’t some diversity filled walking simulator. To most nostalgic gen-x fanboys, the idea that games could be anything more mature than bing bing wahoo for children is fiercely attacked. There are some exceptions though. I still remember a time when people were demanding a grim and gritty Zelda game, of course Darksiders didn’t count.
I think the combination of nostalgia and insistence that things be kid friendly might also explain some of the hatred for anime games. Yes, they are first party Nintendo, but they aren’t the characters they grew up with, and they tend to have stories, themes, and gameplay that goes over the head of a typical 6 year old.
There was a Nintendo community I considered making a thread about when I first joined Kiwi Farms. They were on Disqus as “Video Game Facts”, and could usually be found getting into flamewars in the Niche Gamer comments sections. I think they shut down because a simple google search doesn’t bring the group up any more. If they’re still around, they’re well worth looking into as an example of the worst Nintendo has to offer.
I don’t think I have the screenshots any more, but I have vague memories of them ignoring Bayonetta 1 when it was a Xbox 360 game, praising Bayonetta as the best series ever when Bayonetta 2 was Nintendo exclusive, then throwing a tantrum calling the game worse than shit when Bayonetta 1 got a PC port.
I never understood the obsession with leakers. "Oh, you know that character X is going to be in Smash 15 minutes before everybody else. Congratulations?"
Kids: those are the new guys, the people that start with Nintendo because is the most easy and accessible platform to begin with, they mostly don't know the memes or dont follow religiously the nintendo directs, they get their updates for youtubers or visiting the store those are irrelevant in the great scheme because they have not been corrupted by fandoms
Consoomers: those are mostly people that only buy Nintendo to be trending because the big N has a very low bar of entry, youtubers and "influencers" (that word is sickening) are included in this package, they are the kind of morons that make videos with them making dumb faces in thumbnails with stupid opinions that no one care, claim they are fans when they dont know jackshit or get their opinions for other sites and hate when people tell them they are wrong, they are easy to recognize because they stick to well know and documented games in the western fandom like for example a Consoomer would stick to Final Fantasy and say that FF 7-10 are his/her favorite but dont know anything about Dragon Quest or Star Ocean, the reason they do this is because is more easy to find gameplay on video and they can say dumb things without putting the effort also they dont know anything about IPs that are not in digital stores is another signal that someone is a consoomer
Cultist: the worst kind, those are the ones that make the memes about nintendo tards, the kind that dont know anything outside of Nintendo IP's (aka kiddie games) the ones that complain with absolute hate how nintendo dont make directs every single day, those are the guys that reggie complained about it (iirc he said something that they ask for things you give things to them and is not even a second after they have it that they are asking for more), those are the one that the normal gamer make fun of it, high change they play like shit avoid them at all cost
Am I wrong for thinking the only reason people still give a shit about Nintendo is nostalgia? I literally only ever see most people talk about Zelda and Mario and basically nothing else.

Maybe? I definitely hear a ton of talk about shit I don't care about like Animal Crossing, Fire Emblem and Pokemon. I see tons of Zelda talk too, mind you, but it's always really autistic theorizing and shit.
I assume it probably just depends on what you're into, we probably key in on shit we care less about due to annoyance or something.

I guess I should extend it to Nintendo First-Party, when was the last time you've even heard of a non nintendo game on nintendo consoles being popular?
