Beyond parody. You can't make this shit up. And of course the game series he was asking about was F-Zero.

lol, what a non-answer:
The gaming-news site VGC translated Furukawa's response, which Momiji said was an accurate interpretation: "It is realistically difficult to develop new titles and remakes, including sequels, for every Nintendo game that people request, but we are very grateful and appreciate the expectations our fans have for our games."

Shinya Takahashi, the company's managing executive officer, gave a more optimistic answer.

"We are always considering how to develop new titles and remakes that can be enjoyed by many players," he said, according to VGC.

If I could ask the heads of Nintendo a question, I'd ask why they don't seem to be concerned over the self-destructing controller situation. They just make me never want to play my Switch.

Because they are in court over it and can't comment publicly.

If I could ask Nintendo one question, it'd be why did you cancel the 64DD like a bunch of faggots after it'd been hyped for years. What the fuck, Nintendo?

And there's already an answer for that one too. Base N64 never reached the userbase necessary to support an add-on so they diverted increasing amounts of effort away from it the further off its potential release became. Most likely the only reason it was released at all was to fulfill contractual obligations with Recruit and Randnet.

Nintendo: "We are always considering how to develop new titles and remakes that can be enjoyed by many players”

Gamers: And how do you suppose this will tie into making another F-Zero game?

Nintendo: F-Zero?

Gamers:

How do they verify that your newly registered switch isn't already fucked. Would have been a good way for me to get a cheaper repair on my borked console fan last year...

Also, this is a great way to make money, buy fucked joy-cons on ebay (there are a lot, including rarer colors) send them in and then sell them on for three/four times more.

Edit: Or hell, there's numerous broken console lots up like twenty "broken"/"for parts" main units for 100 dollars and shipping. Easy money.

I've bothered to look up the details for the Japan-only subscription "Wide Care":
-2000 yen a year (or 200 yen a month for the monthly plan)
-covers the main unit, joycons, dock, and AC adapter
-applies for any Switch models
-covers both random breakdowns and accidental damage (drop, water)
-can claim up to 6 repairs a year
-including two hardware repairs with costs covered up to 100k yen (more than the double of what it'd cost to replace a Switch outright)

The subscription also isn't meant to replace the free repair out of the manufacturer's warranty, and Wide Care cannot be subscribed if the console was already damaged beforehand:
すでに故障している機器は加入できません。任天堂サポートページより修理をご検討ください。なお、任天堂で修理完了後であれば本サービスへご加入いただけます。
メーカー保証期間内の場合、正常な使用方法のもとで万一発生した故障については、任天堂サポートページより無償で修理をお申し込みいただけます。くわしくは任天堂サポート修理サービス規程/保証規程をご覧ください。

This service seems more for error-prone people and for parents whose kids don't exactly take care of their belongings. It's nothing to really get in arms over, it's a lot cheaper than out of warranty repairs are traditionally.

Except the fact that the Switch Lite is guaranteed to have it's joycons still fail with no alternatives to fix them outside of full disassembly. If repairs are becoming such a problem to the point where you have to introduce a subscription program, the problem isn't with the users it's with the hardware. Repairs shouldn't be something that reoccurs so frequently that you need to subscribe as a means of prevention.

It also doesn't bode well for the future of the hardware once the switch is no longer the current system and official repairs become discontinued.

Switch Lites are covered under this. All modern hardware has iffy futures anyway.

I know, but what I'm saying is they built hardware already that had known failure points that degrade rather quickly and instead of maybe making stronger sticks, they instead make a subscription repair service.

All of the switch's main points of failure would have probably been minimized if they spent more resources with R&D. The controllers are already 80 bucks and companies like Microsoft have higher end controllers themselves made out of more versatile materials. The OLED didn't even feature majorly revamped joycons or even provided them as an option.

This is retarded, Nintendo have the strongest console/controller R&D in the business, in a world where everyone just builds theirs from off-the-shelf parts Nintendo at least investigates new controller tech. Also, not to freak people out too much but its entirely possible that they didn't fix drift because there is no fix, not because they are lazy or cheap.

If you thought that was going to be a thing then you have no understanding of consumer-facing retail.

Also whenever I see this guy's faggot o-face thumbnails I want to hit him with a rolled up newspaper. And I'm pretty sure he's one of those ones like SpawnWave that said they were never going to cover Nintendo ever again out of righteous indignation over Nintendo's policies... ten minutes before making the next clickbait video with zero content. This shit was fine when it was threads on LUE or whatever. These people make piles of cash being wrong and misleading the public.
BeatEmUps has kind of a reputation in the Xenoblade community now. He did some really low-quality reviews on the second game and made it the butt of a joke in every video he produced for a couple years. Even now he'll occasionally try to troll the community.

Problem is, he can't take what he dishes out. So as soon as anyone responds to his attempt to troll he'll immediately play the victim and go with the usual "I was just stating my opinion and the fans attacked me for it!", even when most of the time it's just people saying he's a clickbaiter or joking about how he can't play the game. A load of people try to ignore him now, though many still respond if he initiates something. I don't think I've seen people actively start the beef with him purely because everyone knows he'll just twist it.

Then again, not surprising that he's got a victim complex. He got caught playing modded BOTW by Nintendo and released several videos basically crying about how he's not an ambassador anymore. Even today he's butthurt about that.

The stick's flaws really do stick out as something R&D related that should have been caught at an earlier stage of development. The design is pretty different from Nintendo's previous analog sticks, but considering that wii-u tablets still outlast something like The Switch Lite and that was again something that was entirely enclosed with a screen that was quasi portable, what they did with the switch wasn't exactly unfamiliar territory for them to start on. But yeah at this point they're kind have written themselves into a corner with the joycon.

They're still in court over Joycon Drift. The EULA reads that anyone operating the system has to be 18+ in an attempt to stave off more legal issues, but EULAs are not really enforceable in a court of law.

If I could ask Nintendo one question, it'd be why haven't you guys bought SEGA yet and shaken them out of their Sonic/Yakuza/Persona stupor?
