I guess my point was that I don’t think there is that much of an audience for it. Nintendo blew their load hard during the Wii U era to the point where most fans seem to have a certain level of distaste for the NES/SNES. Even Mario Maker, which
@SSj_Ness used as an example, had low sales come the Switch, which is pretty unheard of for the system.
When it came to Sonic, there was very clearly an audience for it given Generations’ reception along with the tried and true “Sonic stumbled when it came to 3D” quote you hear over and over in every review. Nintendo games don’t really have that. And at this point, most of the fanbase’s nostalgia has moved onto the N64-Wii eras. I am guessing Nintendo just doesn’t see a market for it anymore given the Wii U’s blunders and the general lack of interest in anything pertaining to those eras like Switch online.
