Exactly! Nintendo has made and remade Zelda OOT, Majora's Mask, Link's Awakening, Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword because there was a huge market for each of those games. Also the reason why Super Mario 3D All Stars even exists at all.
Link's Awakening is also pretty retro and its remake did fairly well in spite of how weird, uncanny and plastic it looked.
To be clear here though, we're not talking about remakes. Sonic Mania is a totally new game made in the same style as the old games. I know you probably know that anyway, I just want to make sure there's no confusion about what I was saying originally.

Literally who hates Kirby? Who? No particular reason, I just want to have a little.....

chat with them.
I usually reference Joshy boy and his GC cult. He hates Kirby for being repetitive or something along those lines. He kinda flip flops because he just needs to hate Nintendo product nowadays. When it comes to the GC cult, they don’t give a shit about Kirby until they suck Air Ride’s dick for having one mode they like.

Basically, there is few Kirby fans just in it for Air Ride while distancing themselves from the rest of the series because it isn’t Mario or Zelda.

>criticizing Kirby for being "repetitive"
>not criticizing, say, the New Super Mario Bros. series for the exact same thing

Nintentards are the absolute worst.

It's also granted because it's very hard to make a good 2D Sonic game because it's entirely reliant on the level design by design and your Sonic clone needs good physics to go with, while any schmuck can make a 2D Mario game if they don't completely fuck it up.
There's plenty of competition for the 3D-2D Mario games but they keep making that trash. There's plenty of top-down ugly Unity adventure games but they made that port of Link's Awakening. Nintendo just does shit at random like they've got a "bad decisions" dartboard. And all the choices are to release a game but add some gay feature to it or to not release a game at all.

They criticize NSMB too, thank god.

Best way of putting it is that Nintendo has many fans stuck in eras and unwilling to move. It used to be the MovieBlob style Gen Xers that would hate anything past the SNES, but now we have the desperate Millennial that hates anything past the GC. Josh Thomas used to be a Nintendo shill till the late Wii U, when he switched gears and became the leader of the GC cult that takes anything made past the GC as shit to complain about. The best parts are when their arguments start contradicting, like yelling about how Mario needs to be different, then hating Odyssey for being just that.

We also now have the Nintendo grifters who honestly couldn’t give a shit about anything past Mario, Zelda or Smash, even if they bitch about how we need to see other franchises. RGT85 is pretty much this, same with Arlo. Arlo hated Kirby because it wasn’t Smash Bros.. The Nintendo fanbase is largely autistic and centered around only the most popular games while bitching about how we need to see lesser franchises that most couldn’t give a shit about, but vocal minorities dictate they do. Metroid, Mother, and F-Zero are what I mean when I say this, as they have more fans then players as the vocal minority dictates the majority suck them off and always speak on their behalf. Fire Emblem and Xenoblade are stuck in the middle area where they are shit on simply because they are newer popularity and stopping IS from developing Scrimblo Bimblo or whatever. The Nintendo community in general really just hates the majority of Nintendo as they are trapped worshipping the same 3 titles.

They would be singing a different tune if that one Kirby game that was gonna come out for the GC didn't get canned and repurposed later down the line.

I guess my point was that I don’t think there is that much of an audience for it. Nintendo blew their load hard during the Wii U era to the point where most fans seem to have a certain level of distaste for the NES/SNES. Even Mario Maker, which @SSj_Ness used as an example, had low sales come the Switch, which is pretty unheard of for the system.

When it came to Sonic, there was very clearly an audience for it given Generations’ reception along with the tried and true “Sonic stumbled when it came to 3D” quote you hear over and over in every review. Nintendo games don’t really have that. And at this point, most of the fanbase’s nostalgia has moved onto the N64-Wii eras. I am guessing Nintendo just doesn’t see a market for it anymore given the Wii U’s blunders and the general lack of interest in anything pertaining to those eras like Switch online.
Maybe that why they never bothered porting NES Remix series over to Switch? I thought they looked interesting but never got around to them.

I like Kirby games and Air Ride is weird and I don't like Air Ride.
The game is really only held up due to the City Trial mode. The game was a product of development hell and it definitely reflects that. They tried to make a simplified kart racer by only using one button, but that approach just makes the game hard to get a feel for and, ironically, more challenging for the average person to play. It doesn’t help that the challenge board is filled with bs challenges that seem way harder than they should be given said controls. Then there is the top down mode which is lame and no one seems to play. City Trial is alright, but it is a one map mode that gets draining after a while due to how underdeveloped it is. Once again, the challenge board only makes it worse as it has very repetitive requirements.

The game overall is fine, hard to consider bad, but it is not worth a 100%, or even a 50% really. The praise does not at all reflect the quality.

They would be singing a different tune if that one Kirby game that was gonna come out for the GC didn't get canned and repurposed later down the line.
Not really. The GC peeps just like the GC. They would probably just claim that Kirby got bad after the GameCube rather than not care. This is pretty much how they handle Mario & Zelda.

Probably. The games were fine from what I could remember, but overall, Nintendo really needed to get off the NES comeback craze. We are at the point where they have pushed the NES/SNES so hard that not even EarthBound can stir excitement. At that point, it should really be clear that you messed up somewhere.

So the latest direct was announced. And it's a Xenoblade Chronicles 3 direct. Take into mind this is not the rumoured July 29th direct and probably serves to debloat the main direct rather than pissing people off with a 20 minute segment about just one game like how Square Enix did a couple years back with Guardians of the Galaxy.

This has naturally added fuel to the fire and the Nintendosphere is now back to it's usual schedule of "get angry at RPGs because they aren't Star Fox". Because as we all know, Xenoblade and Fire Emblem are the reason we aren't getting a new F-Zero game.

We also now have the Nintendo grifters who honestly couldn’t give a shit about anything past Mario, Zelda or Smash, even if they bitch about how we need to see other franchises. RGT85 is pretty much this, same with Arlo.
Arlo I can kinda get. He's a Pikmin fan and I can get why Pikmin fans are a little pissed off rn. He comes across as "it's not for me but that's fine", with the occasional little bit of jealousy (and I can't blame him, it kinda sucks to have a series you love on hiatus like that).

RGT is that 100%. I actually wonder if it's maybe just boomer stuff, since it seems to me like the big issue here is that Xenoblade/Fire Emblem weren't part of his childhood, and doesn't give him the nostalgic butterflies in his stomach, so it's shit and Nintendo need to go back to making his childhood favourites again.

BeatEmUps is a clown and is generally disliked by the entire Xenoblade fanbase. He has this tendency to play the victim and act like the big mean Xenoblade fanbase is just targetting him because he said he didn't like the game, but also literally spent 2 years talking shit about the game in basically every video he could, and has generally treated everything except for the first game with disdain.

Almost as if the "rumors" were bullshit.
I normally don't believe rumours/leaks too. But I'm pretty sure the direct being on the 29th is true.

This direct is basically Nintendo getting Xenoblade 3 news out there so they don't have to dedicate a 20 minute timeslot during the general direct to it. Those really long looks into a game kinda suck and kill the pace if you're not a fan of the games. And while I'm a big Xenoblade fan, I'm also not blind and can see that the series doesn't interest everyone (many Nintendo fans actively hate it now for... some reason?)

This is why I really don't like the idea of RPGs in general being reliant on a Nintendo console for their main base. Because it's not based on Classic Nostalgia™ it's alien or foreign to Nintendo's main consumer base and they wind up putting stuff at odds.

Nintendo itself doesn't even consider Xenoblade to be a primary series but considers later series stuff like Splatoon a primary series.

Why even bother making a Direct solely for Xenoblade 3 if Nintendo "doesn't consider it a primary series"? For that matter, why is Xenoblade a Nintendo-exclusive franchise in the first place if what you said above is true? Shit, Splatoon 3 has only gotten paltry 2-3 minute trailers while Xeno 3 gets a full-blown 20 minutes. Xenoblade 1 Definitive Edition was the "one last thing" at the September 2019 Direct, and got a solid chunk of that next February's Direct Mini focused entirely on it. Xenoblade 3 was the "one last thing" at this past February's Direct. And this isn't even mentioning the sales:
Even without the sales figures for the standalone release of Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna – The Golden Country, Xenoblade as a series has now sold over 3.45 million copies combined.
That's not a bad number for what people consider a "niche" series.

TL;DR: You're full of shit.

Actually no this is what came from Nintendo itself

They don't consider Xenoblade one of their primary series. It's why they're not showing up in marketing group shots for characters. I don't agree with it personally and I think they should promote it, but they have chosen not to align Xenoblade along the likes of Zelda, Mario, Animal Crossing, Pokemon and the others. I think even the Nintendo wiki does this and excludes Xenoblade and has it be directly at the bottom under "other" or something like that.
