OLED model is out today, so far there seems to be no shortages like with PS5 and Series X
Hope people have fun with their models. Having bought a Switch late in the console's life myself, I couldn't justify "upgrading" so quickly. What's funny to think is that many of the same people who buy the OLED model, with its negligible improvements that hardly factor into docked gaming, will seethe about Nintendo charging $80 a year for N64 games. And vice-versa.

It's not exactly justifiable to immediately buy an OLED when you already own a Switch, like how the 3DS had an upgraded version that actually had a few games that were exclusive to it. As far as I can tell, the OLED only has some more powerful hardware in it.

But hey, this is Nintendo's fanbase. It's basically a given that these things will sell out around Christmas.

Only collectors, YouTubers (who can make the money back via unboxing,) or people who can't play the old version in HH due to how cramped the buttons are should buy this as an upgrade. Now as a first switch, yeah, if you are going to play it handheld regularly then go for it.

Personally, I have no interest.

People are acting like Nintendo put a gun to their head to buy the Expansion pass for the Online Membership.

Just don't buy it, i's not that hard.

Nintendo Coomers can't comprehend the idea of just "not buying it"

These are the same dumbasses who bitch about having to stand outside a freezing target and 2 am just to get a 5th 3DS that had a pikachu design.

I like the white dock and joycons of the OLED model, but that's it. Even then, that can easily be replicated via getting a custom skin.

When I get more money, I'm gonna seek out and buy the original HAC-001 model so I can hack it and pirate Nintendo's stuff. Much better deal than the OLED.

Why pay more to have access to emulated games when you can do it on PC FOR FREE?
My personal preference is that they're not official nor physical and I always opt for physical media. Granted doing emulation boxes for a weekend project is fun.

But this is a digital service and you don't even own them.

Reddit archive.

So far, most of the recommendations are Mario games, unsurprisingly. But someone mentioned how their kid managed to figure out how Octopath Traveller works.

And Pokemon is fairly easy if you're willing to grind and figure out how the elemental typing works, which is something that show is constantly reminding you about (even though it plays by it's own set of rules.)

Lmfao, stop acting like pokemon is some hard rpg, you can pretty much unga your way into post game

I'm pretty sure by 6 I was able to read enough to play Link to the Past without getting too lost.

I'm pretty sure playing reading intensive games from a young age is how I tested as having a college reading level in 7th grade.

My friends daughter is like 7 and has trouble reading and speaking. Are kids just like getting dumber due to everything being voiced on tablets now or what?
