According to insiders, all 11 unseen vets are cut, no vets are DLC, no new series are in as DLC either, and the third alt costume (fourth including default) of each character is actually part of the paid “Ultimate Edition” that’s $80. On top of that, both sources for DLC info have called it “mediocre” or “mediocre at best”, without naming the characters yet.

We’re looking at a major cash grab if all that’s true. Not that the first wasn’t, yet for the smallest time I actually was looking forward to this one.

Again, the game could've improve its predecessor if they pulled out a wild card and throw in Terrytoons characters. But no, we knew it's going to be yet another piece of mediocre shovelware.

The roster for this game is just bad. I can understand wanting to redo the previous title, but he character picks just seem too focused around diversity checkboxes and memes. This franchise really just needed to get down a good initial list of fighters to build off of.

Not entirely sure if this is great, but I feel a roster like this would have performed far better than the one we currently have:

See, they went for the memes while ALSO removing the most popular meme character from the last game, it doesn’t make sense. I know you aren’t as much of a Hugh fan, yet basically, your roster except swapping Sheen for Hugh would be perfect for me.

The roster as it is now feels like it wasn’t designed by actual people. It sucks, and the DLC won’t help it.

And that's the thing, the game's overall presentation just sucks. There is rarely any variety with the roster, especially when you consider removing a character like Hugh off the game in favor of another Jimmy Neutron character, and still have a mediocre fighter among other mediocre fighters.

It was designed by people alright, but when I mean people, I mean the same people who don't know how an actual fighting game works. They need to at least watch a gameplay of any crossover fighting game like Smash, regardless of its own hideous community full of spergs, and then they'll understand how to do a crossover fighting game.

I like Hugh, but he came too quickly. I swapped him with Sheen because Sheen is a much bigger character in Jimmy Neutron, plus he can rep Planet Sheen and get another 2010 show in.

Nick has a very limited selection of worthwhile programming and characters. They also play favorites far too often. It was honestly hard to think of a roster, whereas, 25 characters, I could easily make you a banger CN lineup. Nick’s legacy is trapped in a time period long gone.

I wish Smash-tards would stop trying to make these clones for Melee fans. CN Punch Time is more of a budget title than Nick, but is far more memorable in being a Brawl clone. Great roster, fun story mode, loads of clear passion even if the main fighting is floaty. Nick Brawl 2 is way too try hard at every thing. It wants to be taken seriously as a Smash killer, wants to be hip and cool with the meme crowd, etc.. People just wanted a simple Smash title with Nick characters, but it insists on being everything.

This shit right here is one of the reasons why the Smash community, especially Melee fans are a complete joke. Nick All Star fails due to a shitty presentation, subpar roster and awful gameplay. Jump Force and MultiVersus both have some potential until they shortly died. You cannot please a Smashfag, no matter what.

Unless if you count the live-action sitcoms like Drake & Josh, iCarly, Kenan & Kel, Amanda Show, etc.

True, but even live action drops off significantly post-Victorious, probably even before.

As a side note, decided to try my hand at building a CN roster just to see how much better they would be to work with. Honestly, I feel like a roster for Cartoon Network would blow Nick out of the water. At worst, my choices for Ed Edd n' Eddy and Total Drama may not get approved as they aren't Warner owned, but the rest could easily make for a 10/10 roster representing the best of every era, whereas Nick I struggle past the early 2000s.

Biggest fault is no Chowder or Flapjack, plus limiting Billy & Mandy and KND.

Is Lazlo in the roster by any chance?
Maybe in the next? He wasn’t in Punch Time, likely because Camp Lazlo was a series that sort of died without a big legacy like the rest. I sort of jipped the 2000s, as unlike Nick, CN really didn’t have many heavy hitters throughout that decade besides the holdovers like Ed Edd n’ Eddy or Jack (obvious exception being Ben 10). You can definitely tell their best eras were the late 90s-very early 00s, then the Adventure Time driven early 2010s, so priority was given.
