The mp3/audio player is a little hard to read with the green on light gray.

the audio player needs a second look altogether because it doesn't have any way to show transcripts and that's going to be a big value added feature to it.

Forgive me if it's already been noted here but I've noticed that I have trouble with the feature that allows users to highlight text and reply to a specific segment of a post when the highlighted portion of the post includes the media player. When I highlight a sentence above the video I get the Quote/Reply bubble, but if I then expand my selection to include a video that bubble no longer appears and any subsequent attempts even without the media in the selection no longer result in the bubble appearing until the page is refreshed. Brave on linux, not sure if it's repeatable on other setups or not.

For anyone on Brave who is still having layout issues, go into brave://flags/ and enable "Experimental Web Platform features", it fixed everything for me. Turns out there was a ton of javascript errors in the console, some of them mentioned "popover" events and that I needed to enable that flag.
Must be a PC benefit. Enabling it on Brave browser on Android causes loading issues whenever I open a thread.

Also the new 'View Media' option in threads is a nice touch. The thumbnails aren't always loading in to help browse through but for a new feature it's neat.

The new media player is working for me on most videos, but I've noticed there are some where it does not. Predominantly older videos, but seems to be kind of random. (On a laptop, Windows 11.)

This video for example is using the old player, but is absolutely gigantic. Does not fit on my screen.

The post is from 2023, so I'm just wondering if old videos are still being converted or something?

I'm sorry if this was already suggested, but would it be possible to add a preview when hovering over the seek bar of a video?

Is the setting for disabling subtitles stored as a cookie? I noticed every time I open kf in a private window it goes back to having the subtitles turned on.
I've actually had it happen even in the same session after disabling it. I feel like I'm disabling it often and having to pause and restart videos because I've missed the first few seconds.

I'm going to humbly suggest that subtitles enabled by default are a plague across the Internet. Two groups of people need them - deaf people and people trying to watch videos whilst their boss is walking about. Neither are majority groups and both can enable it easily enough. For everyone else it's an annoyance.

Please can we have the default be off?

Do I have to click the Insert Video button to get the new media processor by default? I dragged and dropped a series of videos and it looked like it used the old one.

I'm not sure if this is something Null has considered, but once the new media processor is fully up and running, is there the possibility of allowing for bulk archiving of videos?

A couple of recent events (Chrissie Mayr getting completely mogged by dozens of channels over sweeping up for Melonie Mac and The Quartering, Foundring's YouTube channel being taken down by literal niggerfaggot D'Angelo) made me think that where there are multiple videos covering a significant even or there is a risk of an entire YouTube channel being lost due to brigading / mass flaggotry, it'd be tidier if archived content could be uploaded and contained on its own page linked to the subject of a thread, with a link to the archive page contained in the main thread's heading.

In my case, I'm sitting on an archive of Foundring stuff, but uploading 300+ videos into a forum thread is going to get very messy very quickly.

I am running a backfill service to make sure all media that was not processed recently gets processed and captioned.

I am doing extensive tests and have created an entire pipeline for AI post-processing that lets it work across multiple devices.

If there's a thread you think would benefit from post-processing and captioning please let me know.

Will we be able to search captions? being able to say "I want the video where null wants to fuck the animal crossing dog" or similar would be powerful.
Yes. I am currently working on a hilariously unorthodox distributed setup to handle this workload. Once my plans for enhanced search are closer to being finished I'll go into more detail but I don't want to overpromise too early.
