I'm usually the last person to celebrate someone's death, but good riddance. Our lard and saviour James "Ow mah leg!" King has gone to the great plate of fried rice in the sky.

He had grandchildren? I didn’t realize he had so many kids, I thought it was just daughter-slave.

He pulled his daughter out of school to take care of his disgusting fat ass, emotionally abused his wife, and made both of them live in utter squalor as he ate himself to death, and made literally no attempt to save himself.
The only people I feel bad for are his family considering how much shit he put them through, and how much debt they'll be in due to medical, and now funeral expenses he shoved upon them.
Not a lolcow, but James K of "My 600 Pound Life" has died recently.
For those that never watched the show, James K might legit have the worst legs I've ever seen: worse than Blades.
"TV therapists" showy but not always helpful. They always seem to want someone to disclose some deep dark secret with no warning or support. You'd never push a client you just met to go "hey mom you know bro used to molest me" on your first appointment. What is this bullshit therapy they give them? Why doesn't the hospital use actual CBT?
That's Freudian psycho analysis shit that's been discredited for decades, isn't it? "Getting to the root of the trauma" as some way to fix things? I don't think CBT even much cares what caused the issue other than for diagnostic purposes; since it turns out "A rape screwed me up" is not some grand epiphany that fixes all the stuff it screwed up about you."TV therapists" showy but not always helpful. Yea they tend to go all freudian and insta fix. When i watch it I wonder how many families that type of disclosure destroys for the sake of good drama tv.That's Freudian psycho analysis shit that's been discredited for decades, isn't it? Month 2
Blames family dinner on why she can't stick to diet since they will eat what they want. States has friend actally named Tomorrow BRING HER healthy meals every night.
Meal : Rice bowl with shrimp; about 16 sushi rolls crab/shrimp with sauce. THEN entire portion of meal made for family with salad. Obligatory bottle of ranch dressing stuck next to her.
I'm not watching these live btw. So i'll get tonights up tomorrow when it comes up on amazon. I'm hoping its that lady from the trailor where part of her stomach had to be on its own table it was so huge.
I remember that episode really well. His care taker was a horrible woman who undermined all weight loss attempts. Maybe she hated him a lot deep down or was sociopathic, she acted like it was funny when she got caught giving him food while he was in the hospital. Dr Now said he was calling social services to have her investigated for abuse of a vulnerable adult. I guess they didn't give a fuck. Not a lolcow, but James K of "My 600 Pound Life" has died recently.

Eugenicists were right. Three generations of fatties were enough.Frankly, I am shocked that it took that long for James K's body to break down, especially given how much he just kept packing on (and yo-yo'ing back and forth when he was in the hospital, losing big weight and then gaining back). The obituary had me double-taking: Four daughters, two sons, and nineteen fucking grandkids at 49 years old. Holy Christmas Cakes.
Oh the subconscious stuff and conflicting urges stuff is accurate. I'm just not convinced his methodology is at all worthwhile. If you can't measure any progress, how can you say there was progress? How do we know they wouldn't have profited just as much from talking to ANY sympathetic and non-judgemental ear, expensive training or not? What type of therapy patients find helpful is generally a function of their personality. There are a lot of extremely expensive freudian and jungian analysts that are in high demand by certain types of people. Those who are creative, intuitive instead of logical, etc get a lot out of it. CBT is great for practical concerns, and the outcomes are easy to measure because it is so specific and practical. Figuring yourself out through talk therapy or psychoanalysis is hard to measure, but it can some times be cathartic. Freud's view of people as a bunch of conflicting urges cobbled together isn't that far off the mark imo.

As a side note, I didn’t watch last nights episode but I heard that she might be the same Ashley that was on an episode of Catfish on MTV.
