Haven't run bow much in IB (though now that I have the Silverlos armor I should make some sets but I digress). Bow is basically easymode in World. To run efficient bow you need:
-Whatever bow has the largest (non-sealed) el damage for whatever the monster you're hunting is weakest to.
-2 pieces of Rathalos armor (can be any 2 pieces of the three sets, Normal, Azure and Starlord and don't both have to be the same set ie, you can combine a normal head with Azure legs and get the armor bonus) for crit El. While elemental in World overall is meh, it's completely broken with bow.
-Constitution charm, level 3.
Necessary skills. Ideally you'd have decos but if not try and get it off armor pieces:
-Bow Charge Plus
-Normal Shot and Spread/Power Shot.
Skills you want for max damage:
-Mind's Eye
-Weakness Exploit and Crit Boost as high as you can get them
QoL skills if you've space left over (more important to have in multiplayer hunts):
-Stam Cap increase via Luna's armor bonus. Only need 2 pieces, her greaves give health boost 2 which is nice.
-Health boost as high as you can get it (at least 2 if possible since you can't take many hits)
-Recovery Up and Gobbler. Speed up healing process. Can be difference between life and death sometimes.
Then once you're in hunts you just use the dodge (to build charge) - shoot strat. Dodge, Normal Shot, Dodge, Normal Shot, Dodge, Spread Shot, etc. But since the monsters are always mobile exactly what pattern you'll be using is rarely the same but basically you just wanna dodge, shoot, dodge, shoot until you run out of stamina. It sounds complicated but it's really not, just dodge and shoot until it dies and try not to get hit. Falling rocks and dragon piercer moves should only be used at your discretion. Rocks are good in SP hunts when mons are much easier to stun but are much less so in multi with increased stun res and the fact that they flinch teammates while DP leaves you wide open when using and requires precise aiming to really take advantage of which you don't really have the benefit of when mons are jumping in every which direction. I'd say only use it to aggro non-hostile mons (like Kush) and/or wakeup (assuming you've no Hammer, Greatsword, CB, or HBG teammates who should get priority).
Here's a page with a couple speedrun vids of all the best bows for each element:

While you can make builds of other strats be they Crit Draw or Dragon Piercer or whatever they all pale in comparison to how broken Crit El is in base World. It's why many of the speedruns you can find used bow.
While bow got nerfed quite a bit for IB I don't think the patch releases for PC until IB actually drops (early next year) and on console it should still be powerful enough to carry you through low and high rank.
