Since this thread is probably the closest to a monhun community thread we have at the moment, I've got some time to kill, and /v/ is a cesspool, figured with the confirmed return of tempered monsters in wilds, and the rumored return of frenzied monsters, I'd give a ranking/my thoughts on each superboss and endgame scaling mechanic in the series. Superboss powerups are your mechanics that only a few monsters get, are at least intended to dramatically shake up the fight, and are the big endgame challenge in 4th generation onward games. Endgame scaling mechanics are usually applied to all or almost all monsters, are less impactful changes, but help bring up low tier trash to par. I'll probably make a separate post justifying my placements if a lot of people seem to disagree, or just edifying my reasons if that's not the case.
For endgame scaling mechanics, I'd rank them:
Afflicted > Frenzy Virus > Hyper > > > Tempered
For superboss powerups, I'd rank them:
Deviant > Risen Elder Dragon > The couple good Arch Tempered monsters (you can also put the couple good Hazard monsters from sunbreak here if you count them) > Apex (Rise) > Apex (4U) > The rest of the Arch Tempered monsters (you can also put the rest of the Hazard monsters here)
