Rise Break was easy because of the insane movement and wire bugs, the end game was the worst case of artificial difficulty in the series I've ever seen. Buffing the HP bars and the attack damage to one shots, and 20+ min hunts is not fun. The grind to LvL 300 anomalies was not fun, it felt more of a chore than the tempered elders farm in base World. The hardest thing I've ever experienced in Rise Break was the Demo version of Malzeno. I'd rather attempt Snow Barron Lagombi EX on GU when it comes to bloated HP bars.

Never mind. Tried MH2 and damn near threw my Steam Deck.
It humbled my minor complaints about World and Rise.

Whatever Wilds will be (hopefully great), I thank them for cleaning that bullshit jank up from the PS2 games.

Monster Hunter Wilds, like World, won't recieve a Switch port. Riselets on suicide watch.

As a long time fan of MH, the older games are...just don't it's not worth it.. It's a product of its time and I will cherish it as such, but nothing more.

haven‘t used my switch in ages.
got rise for pc but didn‘t start a new play yet…

agree, if one grew up with the old games they have this special feel

Otherwise.. idk one must really love it to spend their freetime playing the older ones

I think 3rd gen is probably the furthest back you want to go unless you're either a real oldschool fan or have an autistic need to complete the entire series. 1/2 are hard for reasons that are mostly just retro jank, but 3 and onwards are all perfectly fine in their own ways. If you really want that "retro" monhun feel, MHP3rd is probably the closest you'll get while keeping it playable -- it's the last game to be a no-frills experience without introducing any gimmicks like underwater/styles/etc.

there's a reason why everyone still playing rise just cheats in the mats from anomalies to make their endgame gear.

Same, I bought a super cheap jailbreak compatible one, modded the shit out of it and...stopped. Life took me by the horns and flung me off a cliff so no vidya for me, even when I can vidya I much prefer PC over console. As for Rise, got it from a friend and I still haven't touched it, I feel bad but it's just so shit.

'ove me Tri
'ove me Freedom Unite
'ove a bit of Frontier back in the day when I didn't need to worry about whether I can survive another day (let alone week) or if I'll fail at life. Womp womp.
'ate Rise
'ate...yeah that's about it. Uh...preorders?

On MonHun channel, they starts releasing some more video for Wilds, so expecting weapons and armours short videos in upcoming days.

In basic mechanic video, Seikret can guide automatically to target monster in a quest. Instant pin pointing monster location on mini map when starting a quest. Can see Chatacabra in right corner (3 o'clock) of mini map. I recommend watch video anyway.
Sekiret.png
Focus mode video, at least wounding mechanic is innate. As long as player attacks same monster part, that part will be wounded, doesn't require focus strike to wound unlike clutchclaw tenderize.

Oh wow, there's that sidestep from Frontier. Is it just me or do gunshell blasts just lack the oomp? Looks good otherwise.

Come on cowards! Add back rocketing around from Rise! That shit singlehandedly made gunlance a blast.

These videos are cute, but still would prefer a full hunt from requesting the mission to finish carving. I'm still unclear if it will just be mission based with instancing or something different.

Wilds seems like it's doubling down on all the bullshit from world, while taking some of the negatives from rise as well and blending it all up into a slurry of slop. Fuck fivers, fuck your "le epic cinematics!", fuck the moviegames you're used to, fuck your lack of difficulty, fuck your BONE'd and IRON'd weapons, and fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck the 5th gen armor skill system.

Fuck no that shit helped killed Rise for me. Helped mind you, there are many issues. Fucking zoomers and their need for autistic amounts of fast paced movement because they'd get narcoleptic if it was anything slower than warp speed. I'm over exaggerating but man I fuckin' hate the direction Rise went. Get that shit outta here. And I'm a fan of fast paced shit, I'm talking Ghostrunner, Tribes: Ascend, Ultrakill, my favorite Nintendo game is F-zero GX for fuck's sake. Monster Hunter ain't that type of game, even in the most intense moments. Closest you'll get is Frontiers, especially with weapons like the Tonfas and the Magnet Spike.

Probably exactly like World, also I doubt they'd do a full hunt gameplay. Who does? As in showcase an entire mission/level/etc.

The fuck is a fiver? Oh wait you mean that retarded term from World? Makes me sound like I'm hired from Fiverr to do a 30 minute hunt. "Oh my I crossed the Elder Crossing, now I get this silly title because I was on the fifth boat to arrive to the new world!" How about Elder Slayer...that sounds fucked but I'd take that. The cinematics are indeed overblown, what's worse is that you're forced to watch it (you need a mod to skip it) as well as not being able to bring friends until you do which is...who the fuck decided that Monster Hunter needed all these "muh story" cutscenes. Don't get me wrong, my favorite parts of many games are the story and lore, but when has the story needed to be shoved in your face as much as MHW does it? It should be a short cutscene to introduce the monster, maybe some background dialogue, and that's it. Who's the Jap faggot that decided escort sections were needed in MH? Among other hand holding nonsense. Fuck moviegames indeed, infecting even MH.
>Bone'd
>Iron'd
That shit was lazy, especially considering the armor didn't suffer from this issue. In fact they added 2-3 variations of almost every armor! You know how much armor is in the game even from a single variation each?! Why do all that work for Armors but the weapons got largely shafted? They could've saved so much time with pulling a GameFreak and importing the models from older games and making sure the textures and shit were up to snuff. The new armor skill system is silly. Instead of needing to carefully choose each armor and decoration to get the most out of a certain set, with some even making fun mixed sets, this just trivializes it for newcomers while also destroying any semblance of balance. The old system wasn't perfect but at the risk of sounding like an elitist oldfag, I rather have that system any day.

You do realize most of them were just recolors of the accent color, maybe a slight redesign of the helmet, right? And that prior to world, there were blademaster and gunner armors, ACTUAL alternate armor designs along the same theme, right? You're surely not praising world for something it does worse than every previous game in the series while painting yourself as some veteran whose opinion should be respected, right?

I like swimming. If wilds is just going to be world rehashed I don't know if I am going to get in to this one none of what i am seeing has really sold me on this one some things are neat but nothing really of any substance yet.
Wirebugs were cancer, but would have been literally perfect to fix underwater. The only form I'd want them to return in the future is some sort of diving beetle that can only be used underwater.

Still more work than with the weapons even if it's just slightly more. No I'm not praising those japs, I never was, been a while since I played MHW so I might be misremembering the whole armor thing but I'm still not sure how you assumed I was praising them. They were retardedly lazy with both of them sadly. Also I like how you only point out that specific quote in that long ass sperg post and start going "Oh you're trying to make yourself out like you should be a respected oldfag." Where did you get that idea?

Wirebugs were the first sign I was going to dislike Rise, the implementation when it came out was worse than I thought. Having to heavily rely on such a mechanic is silly. Also, I highly doubt they'll bring back underwater anything given how many faggots hated it.

Yeah I'm not convinced either. Even if I was convinced, I'm not retarded enough to preorder or even week 1 it.

This ain't it, right? Like these are teasers, surely? They're down to a fucking formula and 60% is the same fucking shit about the focus mode.

I don't wanna doom. I'm gonna buy it and play it but holy shit, it seems as Switch-gimmick as you'd expect of a Switch game, but it's not a Switch game.
