Thoughts? Honestly one of the few replies that aren't some variation "lol you played 10 hours a day since launch."

Thoughts?
It's all brain dead replies. Like usual there is sooo much corpo cock sucking.
Base Wilds is one of the worst base MHs to date, I put it next to Base Tri in how bored I am in end game. They took away a ton of grind (Plate? Gems? A dime a dozen now), they took away different optional quest types, also the number of optional quests in general, they made farming consumables free and easy, they made monster hunts in late HR 10min or less (which can be done in unoptimized shit gear. I was hunting HR Arkveld in a gathering set and blue/purple weapons.) Artisan Weapons are super easy to get and straight up upgrades to any of the other weapons in most cases. You don't need a god roll on a Artisan weapon to make it best in slot. Slap 3 Paralysis pieces together and go.
Every subsequential game since Gen I am finding myself having fewer hours in the base game. The sheer excessive convenience obliterating any intentional friction is killing any motivation to bother. I never felt like that in this series before. I think I spent more time in Base Rise than I am in Wilds, and I know for a fact I spent 300+ hours in World in the few first months of it's release. In Wilds I have just as much if not more done compared to base World in 1/3rd of the time.

This part right here but for 4U, I easily put hundreds of hours into 4u, nearing a thousand hours. I believe for GU I sunk 300-500 but it was definitely way more than World, and I only haven't played more because my Switch died because someone throw up on it and it hasn't run ever since (like I'm sending a jailbroken Switch back to Nintendo for repairs). With World I barely got half of that. Rise I haven't even hit 10 hours. Now I'm not even sinking any time into Wilds, at this rate I'll forget MH even exists past Wild's inevitable expansion. Doubt even if that schizophrenic sociopath Empress cracking the game will make it try it.

Pretty retarded take about being about the "grind". That is only relevant if the "grind" translates to really making things easier, but from what I'm getting for all of you, outside of a few battles, most are done in 10 minutes and the ones that aren't will take 10 after some equipment upgrading. The only Monster Hunter I played in base form was World and though I managed to be engaged up to the last update (the final super tempered Nergigante release) I just fell off after that and never played Iceborn, but before the updates happened and being aware that I was still newish to the series, I remember that it was just hunting the elders in circles for the most part and don't have particularly fond memories about that. And those were at least 5 with Kushala, Teostra, Val, Kirin and Nergigante that were still taking me more than 20 minutes to take down. I can only imagine how Wilds would already feel tedious if you only have whip monster and Gore Magala and the kill times are closer to the 10s.

Mizutsune better get the pickle treatment like with the Deviljho's release in World, or it's going to be absolutely blitzed through in a couple of days at most for all it's worth till the next update.

I'd hate to be the bearer of bad news but Mizu will very likely be a push over because it was intended to be in the HR line up but because of time, and and getting Jin Dehaad to even work, making it a huge technical problem time sink, they were not able to finish the full game in time. The first two title updates will be monsters that should have been in the roster on release so they probably are scaled likewise.

Don't care at this point. I'm personally having fun, in spite of the issues I have with the game, and that's all that matters to me. And I think people genuinely need to figure out how to put a game down if they aren't enjoying it before wasting hundreds of hours of their lives on it. It doesn't take 100 hours to figure out you're bored and the game doesn't have enough to offer you. If it does, you aren't bored. You're burnt out.

Mizu got taken out to fix Jin but the other monsters were either always planned to be TU's because capcom are cunts OR they're historically considered "problem children" and and needed more time to iron out like they usually do. 2 of them even have armor sets and weapons, one of them even has a fully functional and detailed nest in one of the zones.
Either way, I personally doubt they'd include these mons in their original mid-game spots. They'd get steamrolled and people would bitch endlessly about it.

I'd be fine with Mizu get put on Arkveld tier. There's always the tempered (and 5*) version for those who want a challenge.

Mizu is 100% gonna be easy, I love it, but it's an absolute jobber even at best that's constantly tripping over itself. The "difficulty" in the TU is gonna come from them implementing "legendary", which appears to be the replacement for AT since there are no elders. Unfortunately, datamine shows that legendary state just slightly bumps up some of the damage and hp multipliers from tempered and applies some sort of scar texture on them.

capcom streamlined the autism, resource management, prep, and grinding out of the autistic grinding resource management series, and capcom fans (this is a slur) will gaslight themselves and everyone unfortunate enough to listen about how epic it is that these games have a fraction of the content they used to, or how you've always needed to be buck naked in low rank to feel anything, for the rest of this series's wretched frankenstein's monster of an existence, which took the little girl character from 4u who looks like she's from Zanarkand or some shit and turned her into bimbofied Ghostbusters 2016 Kate McKinnon

https://youtube.com/watch?v=9VsvSOBHwXsThis just in, an actual MHWilds criticism video that doesn't slobber all over Capcom's cock.
I said in the synthetic man thread this is a pretty good review but the editing gives me a headache.

One thing I do have to say is that personally even as a TND devotee being in exotic places I am more accepting of exotic looking people and even yes, ~diversity~ in a monster hunter game. That said its girlbosses everywhere.

Yeah most of the games are filled with vaguely ethnic, glazed donut people. No one cares about all the brownies in Moga, why are they surprised about it in sand land? I don't care for the browns anymore than anyone else, but of course they'd be prevalent in camel land.

The girlboss shit is fuckin weird though. Ace Lancer is the only competent dude in the story, and he's sidelined immediately after his brief Gore hunt.

I think you're overlooking the key word here. "Vaguely". If you can tell me what race the arm wrestling dude from Jumbo or the Village Chief of Moga or the Songstress for Dundorma is, you're a liar. Nata is a poojeet, completely unambiguously, right at a time when people are not only getting really sick of them, but jeets are being pushed as hard as china was 5 or 6 years ago.

Every new IP sucks cock and indies are half-baked $15 depression Undertale clones. People cling to their franchises and the few that still get a new entry now and then are plagued beyond fuck. I mean yeah, people still play World. World has more players than most games on Steam still. Go fuck around in Rise if your PC sucks or you prefer the simplistic aesthetic like I do. Wilds isn't as Worlds-esque in terms of visual density but it's getting close at times. I just want fucking stable fps, man. Let me remove foliage and grass and.. wait, you don't need to. You need to optimize and remove the TWO anti cheats that eat ~15% fps each. :)

God I was so happy about Rise. I don't like soloing but having TWO palicos with different aspects was such a cool way to do it. I've had npcs along on all my Wilds hunts and it actually makes me do tempered hunts without going "here goes 35 mins of my life". That's a win. It's an optional win and my handicap is not feeling as accomplished, but I feel like I'm progressing. Now, again... Rise had companions. And better. Fuck, can't believe Rise was better designed than this by our beloved A-team.

I should probably play Rise. I never bought it as I didn't have a switch and all my friends played it on the switch so by the time it hit PC I didn't have people to play with. It's been a long time since I played MH completely with randoms or solo, but I think I'll try it when it goes on sale.

I started with World, then MHGU, got absolutely sucked into the atmosphere and actual depth of the world, quests and features, and Rise felt like a good extension of that. Having to gear two cats, both of different roles, switch it up with turret dogs. Simple environments, good graphics, no lag, readable attacks. Rise specifically is on sale constantly for literal dirt cheap. It hit like $5 on keysites when humble bundle had it.

Shit, World and Rise are easily 200 hours combined for all of $20. Up there with Yakuza in terms of time-per-dolla, and yet nobody really play them except the fanatics. Curious.
Well, thank Gog. Back to 3U/4U for me.
Ironically I wanted to main HH in World, but then I learned of free meal/aoe potion spam SnS and I just couldn't go back. Healed people up to full before they hit the ground on top of a few paralysis procs per hunt. Shit was kino.

The lack of content is painful, and there are times where I boot the game up before realizing "Hey, I don't feel like hunting Jin/Gore/Arkveld for the fiftieth time". This really stings, since this is by far the best iteration of the hunting horn yet and it's a blast to play. Rathian HH finally gets the limelight, baby.

That said its girlbosses eveverywhere.
Yeah, it's really telling. Upon the conversation with the Allhearken, I thought, "If my character wasn't a male, this big-lore conversation would be between 5 women and one male child." That and the two male companions clumsily rejected going with you in the first place (at least bring Erik in place of Olivia ffs), felt pretty contrived and bullshit.

The other crime is how none of them are interesting, without quirks of any kind. Why not make Gemma more comfortable talking while she works, so she crafts an item while talking about herself? They're all blank slates like the Worlds Handler, and their only "character" comes from commenting on the stuff that's happening around them.
