FORCED to use Nvidia DLAA and FrameGen to get 60fps. With NVIDIA Latency Reduction On+Boost, the game feels close to normal. But I can't shake the feeling I'm creating a Frankenstein's Monster of a game when I see the HUD wobble with AI artifacting.

I spent a lot of time making my character and then editing her every time I start up the game. Appearance Change Vouchers were expensive in World, so take advantage of this beta if you are vain like me. I hope there are 3 slots for characters like in World, I want to make Doomguy and use the HBG, which is very fun in Wilds. The thought of being a guy character and having to hover over the female armor, only to see a man in a skirt, does horrify me. Women and gays don't understand the repulsion one feels when seeing that.

I can only do so much in this final beta, as the progression and unlocks are what keep me going. Dual Daggers and Glaive were my main squeeze in Worlds, I still love Dual, but Glaive feels a bit weird here, probably something they changed that I'm not up to speed on.

I feel optimistic that Capcom will "patch" the performance. I was on Ground Zero of Dragon's Dogma 2, I realized the now obvious shills led me astray and I was left in the unoptimized mud. The same thing happened in Street Fighter 6, a game that sold millions was abandoned post launch and now only offers one extra costume for the entire cast, after 2 years. SF6 was manned by a skeleton crew that pushes out low effort avatar clothes for money. DD2 and even SF6 are nowhere near the status of Monster Hunter, Capcom will be waxing this golden egg for as long as possible, if they aren't complete idiots.

Some stuff I have noticed in the Beta 2 that irks me.
Getting stunned doesn't really do anything anymore, it's basically a irrelevant condition. Get flashed by Gypceros? Well the stun lasts 1 second. Get hit combo'd? Well the stun lasts 1 second. You can also move a bit while stunned and that just guts it further. What's the punishment for bad gameplay anymore?

Arkveld is surprisingly easy compared to older betas/demos. Rise's Magnamalo, Break's Malzeno, World's Nergigante, and IceBorne's Velkhana. All of these hunts for me at least took multiple tries. Wild's was nothing, easily control the fight, which I give some leway for the fact Arkveld is not a elder but still.

Spent some more time in Beta 2 (2) and decided to pick up hunting horn for the first time. I can't speak to how it felt to play in the prior games but it's good here (also the reputation of having the highest skill ceiling checks out, LS/LBG-shitters could never).

It's to shut the faggots who complained about Handler in World never leaving camp. I watched new girl run into a wall for about 5 minutes straight.
It's an online beta. No shit you couldn't play it off line.

Anyway I hope this nigger comes back even though I know he won't View attachment 6981459
Of the early game cannon fodder raptors, he's definitely the most memorable so perhaps he will return.

It plays like arse i hate it, also its not that complex now that the song combos are up the top. But giving the doot flute a bit more love is never a bad thing. I really wish i could just suck up the goyslop that Wilds is but i just can't like it. Something feels off.

So far I've solo'd Mr. Veld w/ GS, CB, GL, and now HH (卐 Heil Hitler easter egg 卐). I tried SA but w/o evade extender it feels too bad and the damage could use a buff (I think they said they will alongside a much needed damage reduction when sword parrying). Lance needs some love; I can use it but it just doesn't flow right. Hammer seems interesting but under tuned. Also played some multiplayer and it's amazing how long sword users are consistently retarded (some things never change I suppose).

I played 3 for a while, little bit of generations, then switched over the World on ps4 (quite the leap).

Really tempted to get wilds, although hopefully the game isn't always online fuck that. I am mostly a souls player and a monster hunter casual, so the quality of life stuff in world was a god send to me. It also helps I was playing with a controller and didn't have to do the CLAW to look around.

I've main HH since TriU, the current iteration of the weapon is the most accessible it's ever been (maybe not as dumb down as Rise's), but it's really flashy, slightly sped up and now has a little rhythm game in the middle of playing songs to maximize damage output. Personally I much prefer the older HHs of GU and 4U. Being able to memorize songs was a point of personal pride. The only thing that made HH hard was actually learning attack patterns of monsters and their safe openings to play songs because of its very deliberate hit stop and animation lock. Such things are being stripped away from HH to make it piss easy to play. World's HH was a good balance of commitment and power. But, it will still and always be the least played weapon, I'd wish they'd stop trying to change HH to make it popular.

I don't think they have implemented the hit stop changes in the current Beta, that's what makes it feel off for me. It's too light, the less commitment in big thwamps and slams make it feel like a wet pool noodle, and not a huge metal instrument.

Finally a game to be hyped for knowing it won't (my god, hopefully) be a complete and damn mess.

I'm happy there are some franchises and studios left that won't let you down every damn release.

It's actually criminal what they did to saxe.
?? the only real change from world I've felt was the double morph slash being moved further down the X combo, and the heavy downward slash changes buttons, the only real criminal thing would be to not bring over rapid morph from rise

After over 3 days of the demo, current TA records against Chained Arkveld for weapons are optimized enough to be a good representation. Saxe is currently sitting in 14th place with 16'13". 13th place is LBG with 10'13". World lance was not this bad. Solo HH in freedom unite was not this bad.

Thinking of picking up wilds. Played World and i liked the loop of hunting monsters and upgrading. I played around with lance, dual swords and greatsword for my playthrough and im considering trying out the other classes this time around. Interested in Long Sword and bow. Is this newbie friendly or do i need to play the older games?

Solo'd Arkveld with lance, probably could've beaten it faster than the 18mins and 45secs it took me but I had a lot of shit happen over both beta periods and didn't have enough time to practice for a better time, plus I missed some traps.

I'm gradually warming up to the new iteration of lance in Wilds, I play it with focus mode toggled 24/7 and found Arkveld pretty comfy to fight after I got ised to perfect guarding. In terms of raw aggression I find it to be a really great bridge between the traditional World and old world style games' movesets, with the extreme aggression of the Rise lance, both of which I love and should be explored more. The triple thrust finish feels pretty natural and I think the speed of the normal thrusts is good and easy to aim while in focus mode, but it does render the slower upper thrusts kinda redundant, especially when we get elemental lances in the main game. I also dont like that adding a swing to the middle of your main combo is optimal DPS, I wish they'd quit that shit because its awkward and nobody likes it.

I think that the damage on the lance is pretty low, especially comparing it to the SnS which has pretty much the same playstyle. The lack of the traditional counter thats been in every game since Tri hurts and its really fucking up a lot of my muscle memory, but I'm happy that they're re-adding it in the main game. The counter at the end of the triple counter is also kinda weird since it counts as a dodge more than a counter, and I hope that changes. I think of Capcom delivers on their promises come the game's release, I'll be very happy with my main weapon.

All Monster Hunters are newbie friendly, they all generally build you up from early easier fights and get your player skill up to the point where you'll be able to handle shit later in the game. Wilds will be a great first MH game I'd imagine, if your computer is strong enough to handle it without shitting itself. Also, you can swap weapons at any time as long as you're okay with getting the materials needed to make a new one, and while I do typically recommend newbies to stick with one wep and learn the moveset and rules of the game, you can do whatever you want at the end of the day. Feel free to DM me if you want to ask anything.

Not having evade extender feels particularly bad with SA and the high chip damage when using the sword counter is retarded. If they fix that alongside a general damage buff it'll probably be fine, but we'll have to see. If I remember correctly SA has a decent time against Rey Dau which leads me to believe SA is salvageable with a few adjustments. Also, HH has a bug when using the bubble/wound attack where the y+b timing is ridiculously strict. I have a paddle bind for that combo so I was fine but if you don't then I wouldn't blame you for thinking HH felt bad in that particular aspect.

Apparently the bugstick is unwieldy w/ default controls so I hope you have paddles (or are a m+kb user)

For me its the awkwardness of the guard dash that's fucked me up on lance.

If you need Framegen to get 60 FPS you actually need to wait or refund the game. Framegen for getting above 60 is fine. But if you're not even getting the bare minimum then somethings wrong. Also, does anyone find it weird how Capcom games used to have such amazing performance prior to the RE update to REX? RE7-RE4R, MH:Rise worked flawlessly. Then the engine get's a fancy X on it and some Nvidia sponsorships and suddenly the hardest boss in gaming is the main fucking menu of DD2.

I mentioned this in...I don't remember which thread but pretty much Crapcom and various other companies focus on "grafics" for normies and don't optimize their shit because they most likely have a deal with Nvidia (and maybe Intel and AMD for CPUs). The game suffers so their defenders can tell you to upgrade your PC by buying that sweet, sweet RTX whatever edition while Crapcom gets a cut of the profits. Todd retardedly said the quiet part out loud with Starfield. I mean you already got the picture, they some Nvidia sponsorships so they increase the minimum specs to run it even decently so more people are likely upgrade and buy new PC parts.

Nooooo.... I got my self a ps5 for Christmas and one of the reasons was Wilds and bugstick. I don't think my laptop has the capacity to run it (at least not on the settings i want) so this was a bit of a massive letdown. It was easy in MHW so don't understand why they would make it more complicated now but if thats the case, well well.

But ok, never used paddles a day in my life but whats another 50 bucks at this point. Thank you for the heads up!
Anyone with tips/recommendations on brands or what to look for?
