Benchmark was a mess for me. So definitely not getting it any time soon. My hope for optimization magic did not pan out.

I can still hit more than 30fps with low, so may play during the betas again.
The game is going to suffer from the same problem Dragons Dogma 2 did with CPU bottlenecks

was playing the beta, the map is a horrible mess i can't remember any of the buttons to swap weapons or set up my inventory. I'm not sure i'll pick it up at this rate.

Game ran fine, so pre-ordered it, kept fucking up with switch axe tho trying to do the overhead slash and kept forgetting i don't have it

I dont like the character creator. Rise and World had pretty decent ones. I was able to recreate my World Hunter in Rise, and my Rise Hunter in World, perfectly. Just cannot do it with the tools they have this time around. Big Sad. I usually like to try and carry over my Hunter from the previous game into the new one and age them up a bit for the first play through.

Game itself is fine. Don't have any complaints really. Runs and looks good for me, controls well. They really tried to find a balance between the weight of World with the style and speed of Rise and I think they did a pretty good job from what's been given so far. But something has me concerned about the Master/G-Rank side of the hunts. Idk what it is, or why, but I got a feeling it's gonna be a slog and half.

The character designs are god damn ugly, so having a troon voice them only makes sense.
But all the redditors gooned to the blonde blacksmith and said "we're so back" because she's white and middling. Are you saying they were wrong?
the map is a horrible mess
The map fucking sucks and makes me wanna die. This 3d bullshit is just a gay attempt to "modernize" the game in a way that just doesn't matter. There was nothing wrong with the page system of the other games.

Already people are posting character creation screenshots rather than the ingame depiction of it. Obviously most of them are from people who can't try out the game, but still. We all know that they downscale and ruin characters once put in-game.

I actually got plus 100 fps on average, and I was ready to only play at 60, but jesus fuck the game is just messy. World was horrible and way to convoluted and I was hoping Wilds was gonna be a halfway between World and Rise but doesn't seem like it. I preordered it but honestly might just cancel it, wait for it to drop in price and see whether they drop a few big fix patches underway.

Shit I don't even like MH. It's fun the first 15 monsters until they start one-shotting you in this ARMOR SET BUILDING game.

I fucking guarantee you it's because they're trying to dissuade people from buying the PC version by making it run worse with no optimization-hell negative optimization with the double DRM plus anti-cheat they shove into the game-so people buy the console version, probably because of some deal they did Snoy and microshit. They've been fucking up PC versions and ports for years.

First thought after playing the beta this weekend: there are so many SHIT players. It being so easy to get access to Arkveld is annoying, because between every match carting out the rest time out from people sitting back thinking they can take pot shots. Unranked play stinks for MH lol. The UI fucking sucks, I keep looking to where the clock has ALWAYS been and for some reason the capcom zoomers thought it was a good idea to move it above the DEFEAT ARVELD text that is on the screen. Hopefully somebody pumps out a UI overhaul mod right quick because it modern game garbage. The 3d map STNIKS and I HATE IT. My only other gripe is everything being casualized for retards. Hoping on the sekrit and having it autorun to the target is gay, and im probably in the minority bvut i always liked having to actually hunt down the monster and make sure i dont lose track of it. I miss paintballs bros

edit: just want to throw in that im giving HBG a try but just feel like the lead weights that are thet other three players means i need to play a weapon ingrained in brains.

I really REALLY miss the Monster Hunter language. I keep swapping from English to Japanese hoping it sounds right, but it never does.

I might just keep it on Japanese since the MH language was the JP cast speaking nonsense. Still bums me out. It had a lot of charm.

Finally got around to playing Beta 2. After working through the MH rust I was able to get a solo kill on Mr. veld. It feels nice having a usable gunlance for once - I think I'll be maining it this time around.

Haven't kept up with all the prelease stuff but I saw the squid fella who looks cool. Also rumao at dubkeks I bet this shit will have worse EN voice acting than world.

Have tried it. It doesn't look as ugly as beta 1 for me, but it's stuttering quite a bit. I can hunt shit tier monsters well enough, but the moment I go into whip king it becomes too much of a mess where I feel like I'm fighting in a swamp. I do get the impression that it looks cool though, but playing with my current rig would be a huge disservice and I'm not going to repeat the time I played DS3 with an underpowered rig.

As per usual, I'm having a bit of a hard time getting used to the controls since they seem to change enough each game to fuck with muscle memory. I was using lance and the Rise rotations certainly felt a lot slower and sloppier. Ended up keeping it simple and just doing triple pokes and normal counters with decent success, but I expect as per usual I'll need to look at a guide or something to get a proper use of a weapon. Lance is retard proof when you don't know what you are doing so it's fine for that. The little bit of competency I got with bow last beta is completely gone as well, but that's all on me.

Game itself, kind of gave me a hankering to boot up Risebreak again just to feel what moving fluidly feels like. The reticle targeting... well, it certainly is huge with lance when you are doing the charging thrust, makes it a lot easier to actually land hits and control your running angle, but that you do a wound, smack it with lock on + R1 and suddenly do a huge burst of damage while your hunter spazes out is leaving me honestly cold. In Risebreak breaking a corruption point meant you got a burst of damage and a window to pile more in, but here it feels too automated and done for you, and the damage you get from breaking a damage point with the fancy attack is HUGE compared to what you normally do, at least with lance. So it feels like the game will devolve into whacking with focus a single point until it glows red, then do your spaz out attack rinse and repeat and I'm not sure I'm that thrilled at the prospect.

Anyway, game clearly is not a day 1 for me anyway and I imagine it will also perform like ass on a steam deck, so I'll just see how word of mouth judges it and how expansions give it girth. I expect the base release to be kind of barebones anyway and after playing World on launch, though I had a ton of fun and hours put into it, it ended up becoming a "do daily hunts, log off" sort of thing and I rather go with an experience like what Risebreak game me where I just hunt the next thing in the chain and keep on trucking at a good rhythm. I also may try getting generations XX to run again on emulation if I want to try something new, though 4 ultimate ended up filtering me out due to not getting a fucking Zinogre gem to finish a set after hunting like 30... Kushala demanded an upgrade and I got tired of trying to forge it.
The UI fucking sucks, I keep looking to where the clock has ALWAYS been and for some reason the capcom zoomers thought it was a good idea to move it above the DEFEAT ARVELD text that is on the screen.
I haven't looked into it, but with all of the "accessibility" faggotry the game has, I wouldn't be surprised there was a way to reposition the UI, just trying to give a suggestion.

I just want this game to have those indepth style unlockables that World had. Unlocking the Palico weapons through deeper world exploration was really cool.
I loved all the collecting and cosmetics and gathering and shit. After World I tried MHGU and holy shit, the way your first mission in a new zone isn't even hunting. It's collecting, exploring, familiarizing yourself with it. World? "Wow what a pretty zon- HUNT HUNT KILL CINEMATIC WAHOO BING BONG!".

I like investing time. I'd take pictures of 30 palicos hidden around the world if it gave my room a little plushie. I want to invest time into my games other than engaging with the primary concept. That's why I do achievements in mmorpgs and whatever collectathon type shit. I'll do ANYTHING that gives me visual progress or reward. Garrisons in wow was fucking peak.

This time? Are there even camps, or only your own mobile one? You can zipline and fly around, there's no need to unlock shortcuts and what have you. For all the filler crap of Worlds, at least unlocking camps was fun. I wanna associate and develop my surroundings, not be some killer on a steed who just zooms around.

Anyway: I refunded it, was given website funds, and now I'm trying to find -any- game worth buying and that's simply not feasible these days. I guess this should be a lesson in not preordering.

I've played Monster Hunter since 2 on the PSP. I'm in it for the base game so I'm excited for Wilds but definitely enjoy the extra 'just fuck around' on the expedition things they've been doing. I'm not sure if any of the beta is focused on those extra side bits and it'll be main release for all of that to drop.

Tried play a bit and the game runs much better. Still not getting it day one.
This is the same beta as before with no fixes in it, just arkvels added. Debs said this numerous times.

I noticed while giving around earlier the new handler follows you and picks up everything. This game really is just streamlined for retards. The combat is still fun but the focus mode bullshit has trivialized a lot of the game, and somehow people are still shit.

Edit: Got a chance to try this on my steam deck. I was able to get 10-18 fps by fucking with the settings and no upscaling. I'm curious to see how it will run on release, especially with people who understand how to fiddle with the setting of the actual deck better than I. I'm hoping for a serviceable stable 30fps but I'm not holding my breath. The game seems to be another always online turd so playing it on the go like all the best MHs is going to be a pain regardless.

Another fucking Mizutsune inclusion. Bet you they won't even include the others. Also why do they hate Quropeco so much?

Wait, no offline? Must just be a Beta thing, no?

Hopefully just a beta thing, but as of now, you either connect to an online lobby, join a private lobby with friends, or go into "Online Single Player" mode.

I finally gave Wilds a shot last week since I missed the first beta test, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. I didn't much care for the necessity of the clutch claw mechanic in Worlds, but the new wound mechanic seems alright. It's still another thing to keep up with, but at least it has some cool interactions.

The weapon changes for me are a mixed bag. I like the new Bow moveset, but I'm going to miss having a recovery arc shot and I'm not crazy about coating management being moved to a meter and tied in with other skills. On one hand, no more needing to carry around extra materials to craft coatings, but on the other, you have to deal with a meter. I'm sure there will be some form of skill/decorations that boost meter gain.

They also took Charge Blade's shield charge up and moved it from cancelling elemental discharge into roundslash to just holding heavy attack once you're in your charge. It's fucking with my head as someone who primarily plays CB and I kind of hate not having it flow into the rest of the combo. You still get a guard point at the tail end of the animation, so that's something I guess. I'm an idiot, you can still charge the shield the old way. No complaints.

It's to shut the faggots who complained about Handler in World never leaving camp. I watched new girl run into a wall for about 5 minutes straight.

It's an online beta. No shit you couldn't play it off line.

Anyway I hope this nigger comes back even though I know he won't 1518744518789.jpg
