Shaydullaev is great. No decisions, never past the second round. He would kill in the UFC. Imagine him against Lopez... nevermind...

King of The Streets had a recent event, here’s a brutal mauling they put on the YouTube. I’ll probably check out the rest of the event later, there’s something about as little rules as possible that I enjoy watching more than the respectable MMA competitions.
Sidenote, I actually do train with ‘ripping’ (grappling with eye gouging, hair pulling, fishhooking, face manipulation, pressure points, etc) and this fight showcases how those less experienced with rips will totally forget that they’re still grappling as they’re ripping or getting ripped. Dude just tackled the guy and went for the eyes, and the man on bottom completely forgot about wrestling up from half guard with the under hook as the ripper forgot to work for a proper submission.

But but according to Joe Rogan the UFC is the most like being in a street fight and therefore matches should be in a football field!

In all seriousness thanks for the share. I didn't realize this promotion existed.

Shit like this is why I carry guns and knives instead of taking MMA classes.

Serious question, how do you train 'ripping'? Do you simulate eye gouging while grappling with a partner? Use a dummy?

First off you need a guy who you trust and is willing to train this, because it does hurt, after that it’s actually pretty simple. Striking arts have issues with ‘dirty’ techniques because it’s done quickly and with velocity so it’s harder to spar with these things, but with grappling it’s a slower and more deliberate process.
A lot of ripping is causing pain for the purpose of making your opponent do something or using uncouth grips for ‘handle’. For example, grabbing the hair for a snap-down, using your thumb to apply a pressure point on the back of the hand to loosen a grip enough to break that grip, nose and jaw manipulations to expose the neck for a strangle, groin attacks to sweep into top position, things like that.
For eye gouges we just simulate that by going next to the eye on the skull, we both know you could gouge in that position so that’s really it. The important part is how to defend them, doing it is easy. For things like fishhooks and goin attacks, I wouldn’t put my fingers in a man’s mouth or nostrils during a fight anyways but the earholes are useful and you can just rip an ear off if you want in an actual fight. Not even to mention the hair.
We train all those ‘handles’ by more ‘flow rolling’ because it is dangerous so you want to go slow, but you also want to get the reps in because it works. We also don’t go for the groin, that’s just plain rude. Pressure points and things like elbows and knees to the ribs are always available as long as both trainees agree to it, they cause pain but not really maiming damage so it’s safe enough and makes you tougher.
Really, it’s not a big deal to train you just have to accept that it’s gonna hurt because it’s about causing pain. Frankly unless you really really want to understand how brutal grappling can be and more importantly how to defend against that stuff there’s little reason to focus a ton on fighting dirty. There’s many techniques I know that I would prefer not to use if there’s a better way, but if I need it it’s there and it’s a real part of fighting one should be aware of.

this is what the people who talked about "human cockfighting" were scared off. I don't think it's good for the sport that this crap exists. Sports have rules, etiquette, and referees to make it fair; and profesional sports have to have transparent contracts with their players, and compensation for both sides (since it's more a job than sport by that point). Fighting is not by itself a sport

For all the shit I talked about the UFC last year, I don't mind this month's numbered event.

Arman is the more intriguing matchup for Ilia (also serves as a good way to gauge how he could do againt Islam), but he's retarded enough to headbutt a guy in the faceoff, then I don't mind seeing him get fucked over. On that note, I wouldn't mind seeing Holloway vs Arman. Hot take, but I reckon Holloway beats him. And it'd be fun to see holloway with a guy as young and skillful as Arman.

Paddy vs Gaethje is very interesting, the more I think about it the more intrigued I get. Gaethje has managed to hold his ranking spot if nothing else and he is decently dangerous on the feet. And while Paddy looked good against Chandler, it's Chandler who he went against so we can't really gauge how good he is just from that.
What really makes me curious about how this fight looks like is the fact that Paddy doesn't really shoot takedowns. Bobby shot on him which led to him getting subbed, and Chandler was getting brutalized before being finished on the ground. So it really makes me wonder how Paddy is gonna gameplan to get ahold of Gaethje. Paddy has to be a little more defensive though because Gaethje hits like a truck, and he is way more dangerous on the feet.

Overall, I'm leaning slightly towards Paddy, but I would not be surprised if Gaethje pulls it off. Whoever wins though is gonna get brutalized by Topuria.

I agree. What impressed me most about Paddy's win over Cheating Chandler is that Paddy's camp gameplanned so well that Mike couldn't even get out of the starting blocks with any sort of offense. I don't know if Paddy himself has a high fight IQ or it's his trainer feeding him plans.

I don't know if Paddy has ever been hit as hard as Justin does. The only fighters who have squared up, traded with him and come out ahead are Dustin (once), Eddie Alvarez, and Max Holloway. Justin could ruin Dana's dreams of a Paddy/Ilia grudge match for the belt.

Speaking of grudges, Wanderlei Silva and Kazushi Sakuraba for the next generation (student vs. son):

I think Paddy is going to absolutely run through Gaethje. Also, Fuck Sportsnet here in Canada. They still have exclusive broadcasting right for the UFC so I can't get anything via my Paramount+ subscription. ARGH! I hear the sound of the high seas calling my name.

there are only two piss breaks in ufc 324? one of 15m in the beginning and another of 25m at the end? that's great

Paddy had a nasty habit of raising his chin during exchanges and seems like he can easily be baited into a brawl. Even though he was on the decline, I expected Chandler to be able to take advantage of that and find a KO in one of the later rounds, which obviously didn't happen. I'm not sure if Paddy has fully addressed this tendency, and if he hasn't, I expect it'll become a factor in the fight.

Justin is smarter than Mike, and has shown the ability to use patience and game planning to dismantle tough opponents, notably in the Tony fight which became less a martial arts bout and more a live demonstration of a man making organic hamburger meat with his fits and shins. On the other hand, Gaethje lost to Charles because Gatehje seems to have nothing for BJJ specialists. If I had to pick, I guess I'd say Paddy, but I can't shake the feeling he's overrated and waiting to get fraud checked by an actual elite fighter.

Justin Gaethje's next fight against Paddy Pimblett could be the final fight of his career, according to his coach Trevor Wittman
🙁
"This is our last run. If we don't win this fight, we're not going on. We're not gonna go out there and be a gatekeeper and look at money fights. He knows he's gotta be there for the family and take care of his health."

And on the other hand gaethje is also 37 and way past his best, I still think people are underestimating him though. we'll see.

Great moments together and it was like 5 days, to be fair he had it coming entering a relationship with tracy cortez out of all people.

Arman Tsarukyan vs MMA Guru grappling match is not something I thought I would ever see.
I'm actually looking forward to Gurus US tour, I think we're gonna get some pretty funny moments when he meets up with fighters
