But but according to Joe Rogan the UFC is the most like being in a street fight and therefore matches should be in a football field!King of The Streets had a recent event, here’s a brutal mauling they put on the YouTube. I’ll probably check out the rest of the event later, there’s something about as little rules as possible that I enjoy watching more than the respectable MMA competitions.
https://youtube.com/watch?v=II4vHnf1A5ESidenote, I actually do train with ‘ripping’ (grappling with eye gouging, hair pulling, fishhooking, face manipulation, pressure points, etc) and this fight showcases how those less experienced with rips will totally forget that they’re still grappling as they’re ripping or getting ripped. Dude just tackled the guy and went for the eyes, and the man on bottom completely forgot about wrestling up from half guard with the under hook as the ripper forgot to work for a proper submission.
Shit like this is why I carry guns and knives instead of taking MMA classes.King of The Streets had a recent event, here’s a brutal mauling they put on the YouTube. Do both, it’s fun.Shit like this is why I carry guns and knives instead of taking MMA classes.
I'm mildly interested in BJJ and wrestling as ways to deescelate conflict without going to jail but between Daniel Penny and Derek Chauvin I feel like I should just start blasting.Do both, it’s fun.
Serious question, how do you train 'ripping'? Do you simulate eye gouging while grappling with a partner? Use a dummy?Sidenote, I actually do train with ‘ripping’ (grappling with eye gouging, hair pulling, fishhooking, face manipulation, pressure points, etc) and this fight showcases how those less experienced with rips will totally forget that they’re still grappling as they’re ripping or getting ripped. First off you need a guy who you trust and is willing to train this, because it does hurt, after that it’s actually pretty simple. Striking arts have issues with ‘dirty’ techniques because it’s done quickly and with velocity so it’s harder to spar with these things, but with grappling it’s a slower and more deliberate process.Serious question, how do you train 'ripping'? this is what the people who talked about "human cockfighting" were scared off. I don't think it's good for the sport that this crap exists. Sports have rules, etiquette, and referees to make it fair; and profesional sports have to have transparent contracts with their players, and compensation for both sides (since it's more a job than sport by that point). Fighting is not by itself a sportKing of The Streets
I agree. What impressed me most about Paddy's win over Cheating Chandler is that Paddy's camp gameplanned so well that Mike couldn't even get out of the starting blocks with any sort of offense. I don't know if Paddy himself has a high fight IQ or it's his trainer feeding him plans.Overall, I'm leaning slightly towards Paddy
And on the other hand gaethje is also 37 and way past his best, I still think people are underestimating him though. we'll see.Paddy had a nasty habit of raising his chin during exchanges and seems like he can easily be baited into a brawl. Even though he was on the decline, I expected Chandler to be able to take advantage of that and find a KO in one of the later rounds, which obviously didn't happen. I'm not sure if Paddy has fully addressed this tendency, and if he hasn't, I expect it'll become a factor in the fight.
Justin is smarter than Mike, and has shown the ability to use patience and game planning to dismantle tough opponents, notably in the Tony fight which became less a martial arts bout and more a live demonstration of a man making organic hamburger meat with his fits and shins. On the other hand, Gaethje lost to Charles because Gatehje seems to have nothing for BJJ specialists. If I had to pick, I guess I'd say Paddy, but I can't shake the feeling he's overrated and waiting to get fraud checked by an actual elite fighter.
Great moments together and it was like 5 days, to be fair he had it coming entering a relationship with tracy cortez out of all people.
Is he not fat? He always looked fat, but he looks to be in alright shapeArman Tsarukyan vs MMA Guru grappling match is not something I thought I would ever see.
I'm actually looking forward to Gurus US tour, I think we're gonna get some pretty funny moments when he meets up with fighters
