If yall roll, make sure those mats are clean. One thing that makes me fucking wretch is that video the Degestanis from Khabib’s gym love to share where the mats are fucking soaking with sweat. Unacceptable and repulsive.

Either way, I’m done coining my shekels from the Zhang fight. This PPV sucked huge dick. One of the most lopsided of recent memory. I really enjoyed the Zhang fight but didn’t expect much of the main event. I’m refusing the urge to powerlevel hard here, but I’ll just say that I give Strickland very high marks for his performance. He did great, all things considered.

Dricus gets BRUTALIZED by Alex and I hope he goes down for that gold after the Ankalaev domination. Alex knocks out Khamzat too.

Judging by these posts, I didn’t miss much. Did Dana finally shut down the streaming sites, I couldn’t find a single one that worked.

I hope for Sean's sake that DDP goes on to be the MW GOAT, praying he runs through Skhamzat and he and Poatan go to war. He and Poatan showed that Sean is weak to really good kickboxing, which makes Sean dominating Izzy even more insane in hindsight. I expected Sean to lose but a 50-45 masterclass on the feet shows insane growth for DDP, who went from getting pieced up by Sean last time around to showing good defense and distance management with his kicks.

More evidence that 185 is the Friendly Division:
I like that sportsmanship is back in style in UFC. Slowly, the stain of McGregor-ism is being washed away from the sport. I don't care how many tickets he sold or how many casuals sucked his dick. The guy may have been good for short-term business, but he was bad for the sport in general.

two times in a row i have had people at home just to watch strickland shits up the joint. get that fucking bum out of numered events and main events

He'll get one more big fight against another underrated decision machine in Robert Whittaker (7 of his last 8 victories by decision). Glass Jaw vs Pillow Fists might make the fight interesting. Winner stays around the title picture and the loser gets banished to the Apex to gatekeep 185 until retirement.

I presume the first fight you're talking about was the Costa fight, I still have no clue how Izzy broke that man so hard that he went from standing and banging with Yoel Romero to running away from Sean Strickland for 25 minutes. "Prime" Costa may not have won that fight but he doesn't get 50-45'd by the current most hated man in the sport.

Dude if you had people over for this card, that's on you lol. I've gotten very choosey at what cards to invite people over for. I've been burned too many times.

Now I really look at the card and see what would be fun to watch with the casual bros. Aljo vs Movsar was a banger, but only if you like technical grappling. Weili is another one that burns me, every time I have people are over she steamrolls them and we just end up waiting for 5 rounds for it to end. It's kind of funny that the old 155 guard are probably your safest bet for good fights to invite people over to., but they are going to retire soon.
313 is looking pretty Ok, Ruffy, Van, hooker all on the main card. I'm still high on the Van kid, but he's taking fights too shortly after his last one.

Jack Jenkins straight up looked like Idubbz during his fight. Good fight, but day one BJJ stuff, two arms in or two arms out. It was the same thing that happened to Josh emmett vs Yair.

Looks like Sean's coach at Xtreme Corture, Eric Nicksick, has thrown his fighter under the bus to everyone's favorite Kosher Woodland Mammal. Highlights include how Sean is uncoachable and lacks the will to win, how the staph infection simply didn't matter, and being deflective when asked what his actual gameplan against DDP was (attempting to walk him down and fight on the inside). Talking about how "he only coaches champions" when Sean is the only former champion still with you is about as funny as the implicit claim that you were responsible for Francis Ngannou's success.

Even though most of these complaints have some merit to them, airing them out on that hook nosed rat's podcast for the whole world to see instead of addressing them in private, and cutting Sean if you don't think he's worth the trouble, is low-down behavior.

If I had to guess, this is an elaborate ploy to ensure that Sean cancels his contract with Xtreme instead of Eric dropping Sean on his own, probably something in the contract stating that Sean still has to pay if he cancels.

I'm not giving Ariel a click.

Taken in a vacuum, Nicksick calling out Sean in public is out-of-line.

Looking at the other way, Sean had 8 months to get ready for DDP. The result on Saturday was him fighting the exact same way as at 305, but slower and worse. Listening to his corner, Nicksick was damn near begging Sean to throw more and Sean was kind of blowing him off.

It's easy to let bad behavior slide when you know a guy isn't capable of much, but it get frustrating when they has actual talent and just decides to drag his ass, and I think that's what pushed Nicksick to do this interview with Ariel. I speculate (entirely without evidence) that Sean and Nicksick have had this conversation in private before and nothing has come of it (especially after DDP 1 and Cannonier).

This might be him putting Sean on notice, or him getting ready to boot Sean from XC.

Once again, his criticism of Sean has merit, but if you truly believe that winning the belt made him soft, that he no longer cares about fighting, and that he's too stubborn to ever chance his ways, then you slam the door at XC in his face when he walks in tomorrow. You tell him straight up that he's had years to change and adapt, and that you have no time to waste with bums who don't aspire for greatness. This passive aggressive nonsense of "Oh, I don't know if I can coach him anymore! :(" after airing out all the dirty laundry on the Ariel Hilwani show of all places doesn't create a culture of accountability, it simply breaks trust and causes the fighter to resent you. I've never seen a coach or promoter go behind his fighter's back to talk shit about him ever work in motivating him to his full potential.
I stand by my theory that this is just a way to make Sean cancel his contract so he can call him a pussy about it (and still get paid) instead of Eric kicking Sean out and getting nothing.

Strickland responds to Eric Nicksick.

Thinking back to it now, Zabit was lucky to leave the sport with as much hype as he had imo. Modern featherweights would not be kind to him. Ilia starches him, Volk and Max leave him bloodied and demoralized (the latter having a good chance to KO him), Diego would get it done, Movsar and Aljo could definitely fraud check him and I would actually lean towards picking Allen to beat him. I would be split on whether or not he beats Yair and Ortega. And he would for sure destroy Bryce, Giga and Emmet, but that's about the only top guys he dominates.

Another fraudulent Ruziboev has entered the building. Just like his older brother he's coming in on short notice against a chinny guy on the back of a very ugly, padded record.

2 majority decisions, one against a debuting fighter while Ruzi was on his 12th fight, and another against a 12-17 guy. This is also his first fight since 2023. Absolute coal. Could've just given a contract to this guy instead, or Vartanyan who is a legit unsigned LW, but instead we get Uzbek Alex Reyes who will go 0-3 and cut.

Really disappointed with Eric Nicksick. Helwani? Really, bro? He’s trying too hard to pander to the MMA community who didn’t know his name before Sean Strickland took the belt to him and XC. The fact of the matter is that XC has only produced two caliber athletes in Strickland and Ngannou. Francis is basically done, so if Strickland leaves… who do you have? Brad Tavares? LOL. Kape?

Strickland has a massive, organic fan base. Even prior to winning the belt, he was drawing up a lot of hype for himself due to his antics. Right now, most gyms would be more than happy to take in Strickland because more eyes = more business. It really does seem like Sean is a well-respected figure at XC, and I am almost certain others would follow him if he left.

Eric’s 2024 track record wasn’t looking so hot either. I don’t have the raw numbers off-hand, but I’m certain his fighters lost way more than they won. Could be wrong. I don’t think he’s being effective in his fighter’s corner has he thinks he has been.

Anyway, fights this weekend look good. More excitement for this than I was this last PPV. Robobama v Cannonier should be an excellent fight.

Strickland should move to Texeira's gym. Fuck Nicksick for airing their dirty laundry on Helwani's show of all places, and in any case, clearly he's not evolving at his current gym and should try somewhere new.
