I'm not well versed in mma but is jon jones a fraud? I feel like anytime I look into his career beyond just being a shitty person he basically seems to have just been fed easy wins dodging anyone who could be a threat and now it sounds like he's basically turned tje heavyweight division into a clown show because Dana can't stop deep throating his cock
I am also a well-versed Jon Jones hater. A lot of (black people) JJ fans will like to cite his outside antics as "but bro that don't get nun to do with his record"
There are legitimate wins on Jones' record, but Jones has failed so many PED tests (If I'm not wrong it's 3/4) that it puts his career in jeopardy because if you were only caught for those times, who knows how much he's done that he hasn't been caught for.
A lot of the guys that Jones has fought have been legends in the later stages of their prime. The only fights I can say without a shadow of a doubt Jones lost are: Dominick Reyes and Gustafsson 1
Jones robbed DC of his legacy and I really don't like how people shit on DC because of his "bitterness" towards Jon. If I was a double champ and my status taken by a PED abusing, cocaine addict, I'd fucking hate him too. Granted, Jones is the younger, more flexible one.
Sometime early in the show, Anik made a quip that the UFC had brought on over 100 new fighters into the year 2024 and I think that’s really telling of the quality of these cards recently. They’re trying to bank on viral moments to cater to zoomers. Instead of letting a fighter organically grow their hype, they’re bootstrapping these younger fighters up and ultimately setting them up for failure. Bo Nickal was allowed to fuck up cans to create a hype package, and then got fraud checked by a well-rounded and established fighter. Same story with Paddy Pimblett who got fraud checked by Gordon. Same for Rosas Jr. who got fraud checked by Rodriguez. Adrian Yanez. Etc. etc. the list goes on.
In the quest to forge the next Sean O’Malley, Khamzat Chimaev, or Alex Pereira by trying to bootstrap young talent to the top, you end up with a bunch of talent that looks awesome to fill a Fight Night or the prelims to a numbered event, but little else.
4-5 years ago, the prelims to 310 would have made a stacked PPV main card. Time is taking more than it is producing.
Would've honestly rather them bring back Horiguchi than sign Kai.
I think Kai is still probably a top ten guy but it's becoming clearer over the years that his KO win over Kyoji was a fluke from simply booking Horiguchi short-notice.
…. Because Leon connected with a Hail Mary head kick with less than one minute remaining in the fifth round after getting dominated most of that fight you absolute fucking dink. Not everyone can relate to or “appreciate” daddy issues.

The UFC roster is bloated by 50% or more. You could cut all of WMMA and probably one-third or more of the men and it would improve things dramatically. Every card is so watered down now that they are no longer enjoyable. Even most of the PPV events are just abysmal outside of one or two fights. Most of the fighters are literally working full time jobs elsewhere then fighting on the side in this supposed 'elite' organization.
UFC cards look decent enough this weekend. Sean Woodson is on the prelims. He’s a 6’2” featherweight (145). Dude’s fighting style is so bizarre, it’s fun to watch.
For some reason, I thought 310 was wrapping it up for the year. Anyway, I feel Buckley v Covington is going to be more impactful than most are crediting it for. Both of these guys need this win. Buckley needs it to prove that he’s capable of hanging with the elite. Colby needs it to prove he is worth more than being relegated to gatekeeper of the WW division.
Power and activity versus cardio and experience. Buckley is definitely capable of getting Colby out of there in the first or second, but as the boot goes on, I feel as if the odds begin to heavily weigh in Colby’s favor. It’s really easy to shit on Colby because of his inactivity and loss record, but he lost to Prime Usman and put up a great fight in both contests. He came in with a minor injury versus Edwards which stifled his grappling.
Colby’s biggest crux was accruing the downtime due to the litigation versus Masvidal. Nearly two years out getting that stuff settled, and he was only fighting about per year prior to that. Cardio is only a good tool if you know how to utilize it, and ring rust is real.
I mentioned Colby winning would keep him from gatekeeper status. That, and being able to continue using the Kurt Angle theme.
I believe that if Colby doesn't win, he's done for. Who else is Colby going to fight after Buckley? Wonderboy? Neal? Lique?
My official fight prediction is going to be If Covington can survive 3 rounds with Buckley, I wouldn't be surprised by a 4/5th round sub from Covington
Would anyone be surprised I'm more excited about this than I was for 310? I'm probably not gonna watch any of this except for the main fight because it's fight night

I straight up do not remember the last time Colby subbed anyone... He tried to choke out a dead tired Masvidal and it looked fucking laughable. I think he gets caught and loses this one, he's 36 with ring rust and weaponised cardio can only go so far...
310 was decent on paper, and turned out ok. The co-main was kinda disappointing, but iirc Rakhmonov said that he was fighting was a torn MCL.
This one... yeah prolly main event only for me too. Thought I always like Michael Johnson's fights. Lightning hands + 0 fight IQ = pure entertainment.

This is funny to think about but it’s completely possible. Given that Buckley is an honorary Battletoad, dude requires an insane amount of oxygen. A funny scenario would be Colby taking his back against the cage in the forth and begin crushing the shit out of his windpipe. Due to physical exertion and his lack of conditioning, he would tap immediately.
Wow. I’m actually stunned by this. I mean… he got dogwalked (hehe) by Strickland and Diamond Dallas Page, but he’s still a good fighter and a large draw. He’s certainly more capable than some of these other PPV main events of recent. If you can marquee fucking Pantoja versus Random Japanese Jobber, you can give Israel a spot on a numbered card.
Embarrassing bookkeeping.
Edit: just read that this is one of those gay Riyadh Season events because I’m retarded. I wonder if they get PPV points for those events since they are such large draws overseas. Probably not because Dana sucks
Sean Woodson. Man. What a guy. Awesome performance.
This card has already been more fun than 310, lol
Kape fight was electric. Loved that shit. 3 kicks to the dick and dude puts on one hell of a show.
This has been one of the best fight night’s, great way to wrap up one helluva year for the sport. Cub should probably retire after that but I can’t blame him if Dana offers him one more bag.
