Getting in the pocket with a one legged power puncher is quite a Jiri move lmao. And thanks to this fumble we aren't getting a title fight in LHW for a very long time. Even Jones fought smarter against a one legged Tiago Santos. For fuck's sake, Jiri.

Huh??? Khamzat breaking his Whittaker's jaw like it was nothing means Khamzat isn't good?
Khamzat would get heemed stiff by some air with microbes in it.
So no, that aidsbaby isn't good.
None of the brazzas are good actually. They always fight opponents with a catch, or if the opponent is well rounded there is always some other shenanigans going on.

My score for UFC 327: A-

So good that I almost forgot the HORRIBLE Reyes v Walker fight even happened. I hope a main card spot is never given to either of these guys again.

It feels like it has been forever since we were treated to an instant classic. Hokit v Blaydes is easily one of the best fights I’ve seen in a decade, and I’ll go as far as to say that I found it better than Hunt v Bigfoot in 2013. Pure violence. Pure entertainment. I loved it. Was it sloppy, yeah, but who cares? Hopefully Hokit continues to improve. That was only his third outing and he came out against a real tough dude and got an impressive win.

One thing that has really bothered me are the claims that Hokit showed “no defense”. That’s total bullshit. If you go back and watch the fight objectively, Hokit was rolling with most of the punches thrown at him. Turning his head slightly away from the strikes. He did this during the entirety of the 15-minute firefight and it is impressive as hell. Blaydes is a wrestler but he is very powerful. Yes, Hokit was getting clipped, but that was it. He managed to mitigate most of the damage thrown at him. Very risky and next-level shit. I think he overwhelms Lewis on the White House card, but we’ll see.

Think we need to have the Jiri talk. He sucks. He’s one of my favorite fighters, but he’s just a human highlight reel, he’s either making them or he is someone else’s. His style is so unorthodox and entirely lacking in any cohesion. It confuses and flusters his opponents, but it seems to also confuse him too. The overall lack of situational awareness baffles me. You’re fighting for a title. You know your opponent is wounded - badly. You press forward as if to go for the kill…. Then you backpedal. You get clipped. You lose. That quickly.

Maybe he is actually retarded. I have no idea how he realistically lost that fight otherwise.

the best base for MMA is cheating. You literally can just win by cheating AND NOTHING HAPPENS
Look at Jon jones, niggers will still ook and eek about him being the goat, despite him being a career roider, and someone who admitted to eye poking as part of his strategy

It wouldnt hurt jiri to learn the concept of head movement. Just because you’re a push forward fighter doesn’t mean you don’t keep your dome out of danger. I know boxing is a different sport but golovkin always uses subtle head movement when he pushed forward so he wouldn’t constantly take punishment while pushing forward.

He almost get ktfo'd near the end of the first round and then gassed out. I don't really have anything against him, and I think it's a good idea to only book him with other sloppy brawlers like Derrick and maybe Waldo in the future, instead of actual contenders, but we'll see.

That’s what made GGG so formidable. He never kept to a predictable line when he pressed. When you would catch him, it would be glancing when he would come in and pepper you. Jiri has a predictable rhythm despite his weird stance changes, and his chin remains in the same spots. It’s frustrating to see him actually regress in terms of experience versus learning anything.

They should really stop using Gamrot as a gatekeeper at this point. Ludovit, Ribovic, Turner... How many up and comers does he have to derail before the UFC finally gives him a big fight? Do him vs Benoit, Chandler, Paddy or even Ruffy, I wanna see that shit. He only got the Oliveira matchup because it was on short notice and he's super active so let him have a full camp for a big name opponent already.

Josh Hokit's gimmick is cringy but I'd be lying if I said it doesn't make him more interesting. I don't think he's super top level or anything but I think he can hang with the lower half of the top 10. We could have some future brawls with the likes of Tuivasa, Talisson Teixeira, Waldo, Shamiel, Spivak, etc. Pavlovich, Volkov, Cyril, Aspinall and Pereira would Butcher him though.

Really glad to see Costa on a ressurgence. Wouldn't mind seeing him against Jan or Khalil next.

And for Jiri, do him vs Ankalaev. Both lost their last title fights and there's some beef so why not.

Literally just stared at my tv in stunned silence when Jiri got knocked out. I can't fucking stand the Incredible Cringe Lord Hokit but he did well.

How do you say "It's over." in Brazilian?

we all had a 5m of silence... all the streamers did... this is literally the MMA holocaust (and this one is real)

I like Jiri, but this was inexcusable, you can't be just that dumb, no matter how much we joke about autistic samurais.

I doubt Carlos will stay on top for long, once he is ready to fight that is, which will take a year give or take. But I see him as a one and done champion.

But hard to say who's gonna take it, Ank, Chimaev if he goes up, fuck, even Costa has a chance, at least Costa knows how to strike like someone who has a brain.

Not the end we wanted, but it was a good card, mainly because of Costa and Hokit, who just scored a white house slot, crazy.
If they make Ulberg-Ankalaev I would assume Ankalaev wins it in the same way he beat Pereira the first time, or Rakic, or Santos, or even that draw with Jan. He's fought a lot of these kinds of kickboxers who want to run around on the backfoot jabbing and low kicking and he can punish them in different ways. Fight probably stinks because its Ankalaev who has no urgency but think he wins. Costa I'm not sure. Same team for Ulberg that corner's Izzy so they probably can plan for Costa and knock him out.

This division is so bad that pretty much everyone ranked 2-8 in it is coming off a loss or a draw (Costa the exception when he gets ranked next week). There is no one here who has any momentum now that Ulberg has won.

I'm pretty sure Hokit was drunk as fuck to the point where it would be impossible to knock him out. Dude was stumbling around the octagon from the very start of the fight.

Jiri is a meme fighter and lost to a guy who could barely stand.

...or because the current HW division is just plain shit that everyone outside the top fights like a drunken bum. Hokit only won because he's more explosive and has better countering but that's it. Curtis is washed too, the last time he has fought a contender and won convincingly was the Volkov fight, and that was like 2020, Kuniev did better than Hokit but he got robbed.
Edit: it's probably a good idea to bet some money on Derrick Lewis. The current BB might just go Lionheart and curl once he's hurt, but knowing Derrick, who has a weird tendency to win the fight that he shouldn't, and Hokit is very hitable.

Not only did Josh Hokit score a big win and talk his way onto the UFC White House card, but he has ended our long national nightmare and KNOCKED TAI TUIVASA OUT OF THE TOP 15 HEAVYWEIGHTS:
