Autoloaders are not new technology as the French figured them out in the 1950s and the Soviets mastered them in the 1960s. It's just lazy at this point not use mature technology as even the M8 AGS had one as well. Plus no active protection system just means this thing will get clapped by a random FPV drone in the field. For $13ish million dollars a pop, it is a rip off.
It integrates a lot of new tech such as the gun tube, keeps commonality with the Abrams, meaning the crew from one tank can work in the other with minimal training time.

And because of the FAILURE of the M8 AGS autoloader, the US Army wanted something no frills that would "just work" like Todd Howard. You can't fuck up a guy shoving a tried and tested 105mm round into the chamber, just can't.

Also it has room for expansion. There are plans for engine and APS upgrades. The Army just wanted the tanks now, because it's been well over 20 years since they had a light tank, or in this case, an "assault gun".

They just wanted something they could load with cheap HE and HESH/HEP rounds and blow up structures and bunkers without having to fill up a entire ass C-17 with a partially disassembled M1 Abrams. Can it be used as a tank? Sure. They want it to blow up shit first and foremost, armor second.

On cost, it's being built in America by Americans. Chinks have the slave labor perk and also don't give a fuck about protection. Weighing as much as a base T-72 at 42-46 short tons probably means it has similar if not greater protection due to composites. That is also not counting the better computers and optics than a Chink tank.

TL;DR the M10 Booker is kino.

That helicopter is never gonna die. Sometimes you just need a light attack helicopter with a 20mm, some hellfires, and Hydra 70's, nothing fancy like the Apache.

Then you'll just arm a light transport. Aka an armed Huey/EC635/AW169/Blackhawk/KH-1 or similar.

Dedicated attack helicopters are EXPENSIVE and if it doesn't have a radar and the ability to hit targets at 15km+... It's useless in 2025 against anyone with MANPADS or semi decent SAMs.

Regarding the M10 Booker itself? I think it is an overpriced shit box as it is underpowered, weighs the same as a basic bitch T-72, and lacks an autoloader + commander RWS. Meanwhile, provided that the Chinese aren't lying (doubtful), the ZTQ-15 is a superior tank for the same purpose/doctrine in almost every way compared to the M10 Booker.

The Booker probably has better armor than the ZTQ-15 and a RWS is stupid easy to install.

Yep. LP CROWS could easily be installed as could an APS system.

Now, for more exciting news

US getting tens of thousands more 155mm shells a month.

The Viper addresses most if not all these issues. New munitions too with the JAGM, which has a 16km range.

Cool more shells. As for the Booker, I trust it more than chink engineering that had zero composites

Another J-36 image came out.

The air intake above the cockpit reminds me of the F107 "Maneater"

I assume it feeds the central engine while the two intakes under the fuselage feed the outer engines. Honestly the craft looks like a squashed F22 with an extra engine and no tail wings, very intriguing design.

The J-36 makes me wonder if someone deliberately leaked A-12 project shit to the Ching Chongs. Good ol' flying Dorito, but God, Chinese designs are ugly.
I would warrant more the guess that they simply came to a lot of the same conclusions as the states. China's not short on engineers and the party tends to not be retarded when it comes to requirements.

I would argue that the Shenyang J-31/35 looks pretty good.

But only because it's the Chinese equivalent of the 'we have F-35 at home' meme.
IIRC they did get the complete F-35 blueprints leaked to them at some point. Wouldn't surprise me that they took one look at it and went "right, this is what we have to beat so time to design something a step ahead of it."

That's fair, I honestly forgot their F-23/F-35 mashup existed. I usually stop at the J-20 and laugh about a stealth fighter with canards. Glad to hear they finally got the intended engines working, only took them two or three decades. The J-31/35 really does look like what the Russians would make if you asked them to make a F-22/35 mashup. I also wonder if the design team for the SU-57 has a picture of the YF-23 on their wall, they'd have good taste if they did.

J-20 'Let's make a stealth fighter. Don't make it too stealthy though!'

I wish I had "fuck you"-levels of money. I'd do nothing else with it than rebuilding a KV-2, and when that's done I'll drive around in it, because fuck you, that's why.
What are they gonna do? Pull you over? You're in a tank. Hell if you play your cards right maybe your local Nasty Girls will need to be called in and you can go out in glorious tank-kata.

Zumwalt destroyers coming out of new missile installation still have their #2 gun turrets.
Navy, Army, and potentially Marines are all coming together to throw more money at the Hypervelocity Projectile.

If they finally unfuck these ships through sheer obstinance, I'm gonna shit a brick laughing.

Lemmy from Mötörhëad didn’t quite have fuck-you money but he did have one of the UK’s biggest collections of WW2 German militaria, including a running Jagdpanzer 38 ‘Hetzer’.

Kino until it encounters the first drone armed with an RPG warhead.

Not gonna happen. The only reason they are getting the hypersonic is because they don't do anything else. Gotta put something where that nlos gun system went.
