The stupid thing about organic gardening is they eschew commercially made fertilizers and pesticides in favor of natural ones.
Not true, I had a whole unit on this in a biology class. They are in fact chemicals and harmful, just "significantly less harmful" or some bullshit, but is still a pesticide and veggies need to be washed cleaned soaked in vinegar before eating.
Agreed it's a marketing term. I have former family that are dairy farmers in Wisconsin, like 3 or 4 generations now. They were essentially organic, but it costs big $$ to send someone from USDA out to inspect and confirm and give u your certification or whatever, plus u gotta repay for it every year. They're making organic milk legit, but tldont see how useful it would be in practice to get the label. It affects their trucks and so much logistics that it's not worth it financially. I forget how many cows, probably around 1000 1500 maybe, I don't think it's 2k but could be by now. So that may affect it differently than if it were 500 cows.Even in cases where the natural and factory made ones have the same chemical structure. They're literally the same thing but they can't / won't use them because it's not 100% natural.
Organic is a joke and more of a marketing term than anything else.
They did do organic cheese tho at some point, I think they kept it small and only the small onsite family cheese factory portion just for some tax points or something.
(As an aside, because I know a lot about their farm financials, and how the dairy industry works, I know Never to feel sorry for farmers who say they're poor.)
