Like a friend of mine said, Unreal Engine sucked the soul out of it. He will get it eventually though.

I think Japanese devs can't use Unreal Engine, and the Yakuza Ishin remake is another example.

I'll get this game, but I still find it weird that they remade 3 over 1, even though I can understand how 3 is the most stand-alone game out of the series, unlike the other numbered titles.

I assume the plan is to go chronologically and remake everything as they go. I think they hope that by the end of it all, their teams will be so adept at remaking MG games, that they will finally be able to blaze a new path post-Kojima into 100% new MG territory. The logic is sound I guess, but I find that thinking to be pretty dubious overall.

That said, after pondering on the matter for a bit, this is pretty much Konami "copying Nintendo's homework" of late. Think about it, Mercury Steam was put on remaking Metroid II before they were given the opportunity to develop Dread. Retro's new team worked on the Prime 1 remaster before diving into Prime 4. And even the legendary Zelda series has been entrusted to others in recent years with developing the 2D Zelda remakes to eventually be assigned Echoes of Wisdom...

Haven't been excited for a release since 2019 with 2make. This'll be a lot of fun and a good trip down memory lane. Such a good move keeping the original lines in it when it hasn't aged at all. The series has always had the high watermark for acting, at least within the trilogy.

It wouldn't bother me at all if they went back and did these remasters of the rest of the series and tweak the gameplay a bit. Although MGS1 they don't have the master copies of the acting and they'd need to use the shitty ones from TTS. But use music from the PS1 and cut the nonsense cutscenes out.

I'm just amazed they're bringing back Snake Vs Monkey for the remake but didn't do it for Master Collection. Smh...

Don't care, not playing it. The original(Subsistence that is) is already perfect. Even the muh graphics argument doesn't hold since the game looks as well as a PS2 title can, and the environments and visual direction still makes this older title look fantastic.
The only way to even remotely get me interested is if they include features that were cut since they were impossible on the hardware at the time, like day/night system, truly open world, more indepth fauna and flora ect.
Wake me up when they actually remake the MSX games.

Holy shit Ape Escape, hoping the weird tech demo for a canned game in Snake's Nightmare will be remade too and MGO since they said "and more..." but this is Konami so I doubt they'll put in that effort.
If they bring back MGO that might actually make it worth my while. MGS3 released at the time when not everybody had stable internet, sadly I was one of those people, so I never got to try it out. I wanted to try out MGO2 with MGS4 but I ended up getting a 360 instead.

Still not getting it on launch since it will likely be bugged to hell or straight up broken like most AAA releases these days

I'm very curious about the new dialogue they recorded for this. They brought everybody back so I'm expecting some VR epilogue with snake. It would be awesome to properly make a remake of Metal gear
Surely they have to be considering it, MG1 and 2 are the most perfect candidates for remakes you can ask for. I wonder about how they would look, with Zanzibarland and Big Boss and the height of his notoriety. They will certainly have to think of some more creative boss names than the originals.

They better keep Arnold. That's all I'm saying.

I wonder how they'd handle making a guard think it's night despite the obvious daylight by making an owl hoot. Because even in 2D that was pretty stupid.

Just make him the villain he's supposed to be portrayed as and not the secret good guy shit. While he was the good guy, he was never shown as the good guy that used evil ways. PW and V were so fumbled in that regard.

MPO's ending made out like he was going to be a ruthless military leader that put his men first.

This looks like AIDS. Laughably terrible without Yoji Shinkawa. Even MGSV's looked better. 1000345129.jpg
OG premium package seems more fitting. 1000345132.jpg

They should kill themselves. Those gooks have brrrought grreat dishonorru.

I want new fucking games and the game industry needs to crash for that to even happen it seems. I want that The Sorrow game. They should look back at their catalogue of scrapped game ideas and rework them from there. Stop digging up our eternal memories for cheap nostalgia bait.

I think it's cute that the pre order bonus is unlockable in the game and is basically just a "you don't have to beat the game to earn it" token.

I remember when I got Ocarina of Time and Master Quest for pre ordering Wind Waker. Now you just get an in game unlockable.
