Does anyone know if the Ape Escape game will only be in the PS5 version or did Sony actually pull a Good Guy Greg and let everyone have it?
I'm pretty sure it's PS5 only, Xbox and PC seems to replace it with Bomberman. This is the same company that shits itself whenever the a crossplay game includes another console, them bringing Ape Escape references outside of PS would be a death sentence to them.

monkeys aren't worth the extra 10 dollars the game costs on PS5

People will mod it in anyways if its left in the UE5 files.

They confirmed that Snake vs Monkey is included in the PC/PS5 versions and only Xbox will be getting the Bomberman game.

I'm playing MGS2 and just discovered you can press R1 or R2 during codec calls when Snake or Raiden aren't talking. One button is positive thoughts, the other negative. I'm sure its just an easter egg gimmick but are there any uses for it throughout the game? Any secrets, unlocks through these interactions?

it's a shitty bust to include and they could've included another Shagohod instead.
Little remote-control desktop Shagohod would have been cute as heck.

That bust is dumb; they made the arm cutoff confusing. Should have made a statue of The Boss, image related: blessed-mary-statue-stepping-on-snake-85-cm-painted-fiberglass[1].jpg

I like the idea that you can use the naked camos with bodypaint.
Not gonna lie, that'd be great. Since they aren't fucking with the voices or performances (mo-cap) ala the SH2 demake I've been much more willing to be "taken in" by Delta. I sure as shit ain't gonna pre-order, and I'll get everything for free eventually, but I think I'll be getting it. The only problem I had with MGS3 (played it first time <8 years ago) was the antiquated controls and movement. After MGS4's movement improvements and especially the expanded options while on the ground - YOU CANNOT GO BACK. So Delta giving me what I want + crisp modern visuals is definitely tempting.

Only issue I've seen besides the usual money grubbing, is the character faces. It isn't really a problem with how they look, it's just the animators don't seem to be trying that hard to make the characters faces match their voices. The 2004 game didn't have much choice but to keep the character's faces a bit limited, but the modern graphics combined with the still good performances are conflicting because the faces aren't emoting properly. At least that's how it looks to me via the trailers.

Okay after Portable Ops I just began Peace Walker. The graphics are awesome for a PSP game but what in the ACTUAL FUCK WAS KOJIMA DOING? THE MENU NAVIGATION DOESN'T PAUSE, YOU CANNOT AIM IN FIRST PERSON ASIDE FROM SCOPES TO MY KNOWLEDGE AND OVERALL ITS A DOWNGRADE FROM PORTABLE OPS THAT WAS BASICALLY A SIMPLIFIED MGS3. I like the new CQC and see how MGSV expanded on it but its gimmicky. Why the fuck did they remove what made Portable Ops work? Did MGS4 remove first person aiming too? I liked doing that. Its a core staple in MGS, even V had it. What the fuck is Peace Walker's problem? Also funny how loresperg retards say Portable Ops is not canon when Peace Walker straight up treats it as an existing game as soon as you get to the control scheme choices before it begins.
I'm sick of the consensus that "some of it definitely happened", no nigger all of it happened aside from the fun parts like Old Snake in PO+ and special unlockable recruits. Snake in Portable Ops built his army up to Peace Walker and MGSV standards. Furthermore, why did Kojingles reuse the Portable Ops sneaking suit design in PW and MGSV if it was not canonical? Because he was bitter he didn't make it, and knew it was sick.

Even another non-Kojima MGS game, Ghost Babel (GBA) is in MGS2 with a few references meaning that entire game could have been a VR training mission since it was our first hint to Raiden, to bridge the gap of MGS1 and MGS2.

MPO is so overlooked. It's got some flaws with it's plot but it still felt like it was a continuation of MGS3 where as PW felt like it went in a completely different direction.

Peace Walker still feels like a followup to PO down to the similar artistic cutscenes, it just has a whackier Post-4 Kojima writing it who basically gave up on MGS and went "fuck it, Hot Coldman". I know Peace Walker is actually MGS5, was intended to be anyways. And MGS GZ and TPP are actually 5.5 and 6.
Also why am I being told I can move during a cutscene by zooming in on 16 year old Paz in an X-Ray view to see beneath her clothes and scarred body? Is that why they never included PW in the master collection?

Also what the actual fuck no prone crawling either? PORTABLE OPS HAD THIS.

I'm actually done already with Peace Walker. The downgrades are unacceptable, a 2010 game falls behind a fucking 2006 game. I would sacrifice the graphics to have the gameplay of PO with PW's CQC. The menus are also a clusterfuck. This is a bad video game likely made for younger fans. I heard so many good things about it, and MGSV got me interested in it but now I am glad MGSV went in another direction likely as a result of feedback. Fuck MGS Delta, when are we getting Fox Engine PW?
Anyways onto MGS acid.

There is a "mission" where if you do the right things, you both get under a cardboard box and get it on. There is a variant with Kaz if that's your thing.
BTW she's not actually 16, it sounds like a copout but there is a reason for it lorewise.
If there is one reason to stick around for later stages of the game, it's to unlock all the boss battles. Vehicle ops and Metal Gear fights, not to mention the hidden Monster Hunter quests, are some of the best boss fights in the entire franchise. The actual stealth missions are the definition of mid, with lots of gimmick levels that last minutes.

I already know these details, I ain't fully blind.

What's the fucking point? May as well be called Peace Walker, because it sure as Hell doesn't feel like a good Metal Gear game.
The 2nd tutorial with Kaz rubs me the wrong way already, focused entirely on shooting shit. Who was Peace Walker made for? Newcomers? PSPfags? Monster hunter fags?
While stipped down a little, Portable Ops had basic stealth you'd expect playing the MGS trilogy.
I never thought I'd say this but I'm waiting for the 2nd master collection to even bother with PW.

That's the thing, the gameplay mechanics are great and the weapon/gadget selection is fantastic. Problem is that there isn't anything to DO with them, other than to grind boss battles. What's the point of a mission if it lasts you two minutes? Why bother trying to sneak thru the enemies if you can literally run past them and not face any consequences since the level ends right after? If the areas were the size of MGS3 levels, then that would be another matter entirely.

Honestly, I prefer the more stiff controls and limited gameplay mechanics of PO, in exchange for having actual levels designed around stealth first and foremost.

Sounds like Peace Walker is the one that really needed a remake by the MGSV team. It is fundamentally flawed and missing aspects that would make it a good MGS game, gameplay wise I fucking hate it. It plays more like a weird action game than a MGS game, darkly comedic how Kojima made PW and proceeded to do a worse job than PO. They should really look into making it a proper console/PC experience someday.

As for running past enemies, this has been a thing since MGS1 and is used in speedruns. But its the way in which you pull it off that matters.
I was playing MGS3 hard mode earlier saving only when asked to between chapters, and ran past the base with the helicopter to get into the cave, it was super satisfying even if I missed items.

If you know the game, sure. Thing is, in PW nearly every level is a linear hallway that ends in 2-3 minutes, so there is literally no reason not to just run past everybody unless you're looking for items. There is little consequences for getting caught, unlike in the older games where the enemy is both competent and depending on the game might not even stop respawning until you hide.

This is so confusing to me, there is so many different wildly different builds and strategies you can take with the kind of gear and even outfits you get, but there is just no reason to strategize at all unless you're going into a boss battle.

That's disappointing to hear. Well, now I know for sure. Metal Gear can be fine without Kojima. It just needs proper direction and understand why it's even successful. They seem to be treating it better than Silent Hill, go figure. I'm hoping instead of remakes we get new games but if all they have are remakes to show for, I wouldn't be too bummed since they're probably not good at writing anyway. They definitely have to be making a new one, why get David Hayter back and introduce people to the timeline including non-canon games in the master collection books if they weren't planning to continue it?
