Duramag and Pmag are the move, Pmag can be had for $9 this year and $8 yester year if you gett a 10 pack on sale shipped.

I've fucked with most of them and most of them suck for either sticking in the magwell, feeling like squishy bullshit, or taking lots of effort to load. Also extra points if they handle 300blk which is pretty much only Magpul and Duramag ime. UTG mags are surprisingly nice but why not just get a Pmag for a bit less money.
I only own Pmags myself. I've never had an issue with them.

Maybe I'll get some metal ones if my favorite tard build idea ever comes to pass, but until then I plan to stick with what works.

Not really too much of a reason unless you get a good deal or you're dealing with a caliber that only really has metal mags for it.
Not with AR mags but I fucked up a metal pistol mag by deforming the feed lips and decided to relegate it to training since even after bending it back I didn't totally trust it to not jam like it was. Thicker steel mags I'd trust but not so much aluminum. Haven't done the math on my steel mags but I choose Pmag in terms of weight.

Does anybody know a company that does an all in one replacement kit for the spring, follower and floorplate for a stanag mag?

I miss tapco and US Palm for their AK mags, tapco especially because they made a smooth sided 7.62x39 copy of the 5.45 bakelite orange mag made of polymer.

but you should strive for the absolutr best for your kit when it comes to feeding the gun.

best training aid ever!

I got to shoot the Chinese m14 and it's pretty nice, 2-3 moa with wolf 308. I also scored an ARX 100 in 5.56 by accident but I haven't had a chance to go shoot it yet.

Kiwis from east of the Mississippi, what do you do to find a good shooting range? I'm very used to having plentiful public land to go shoot on, but I'm lost on what to do in states with very little public land.

I saw this on Boomerbook

My local shooting range had a Stacatto for rent. Not sure the exact variant, but DAMN it's smooth. I don't know if it's 2.5 large worth of smooth, but it's smooth.

I love my Staccato P. With the Trijicon RCR mounted, head shots on a standard silhouette target at 25yds is stupid easy. I need to get a 1/2x28 threaded piston for my SiCo Hybrid 46M and some nice 147gr subsonics to give it a try suppressed one of these days since it came with a threaded barrel, but one day I may have a non-threaded barrel fitted for it since I use it as one of my carry guns. I also want to replace the grip module that came with it for one of either stainless steel or brass with a less aggressive stippling pattern on it, since the stock one has worn holes in my clothing in the past. But it is a sweet shooter. Just an absolute joy.

Living over there sounds like my worst nightmare. 90% of my hobbies can really only be done on public land.

You shoot on your own property or state/fed land. There's over a million acres of federal forest near me so some people shoot along side forestry roads (expressly permitted unless restricted by posted signage). There's also lots and lots of abandoned mine lands to shoot on. It's owned by the state (or leased) and operates as public land for the most part. after the mining company reclaims the land (removing all equipment and planting grass/trees) it's basically open pasture land.

I'm sure it's not as easy in the flat lands where everything is parceled up.
