I was using the M81 pattern ELBE kit/chest rig and a PASGT vest at the time and a yugo (?) knock off M1 helmet. It was all cheap. I spent all my money on my LMT rifle and the Stiener optic on it. I wish i had all the money i spent on that bullshit back. I didn't enjoy one second of it, never learned to like ARs but I was just convinced by the media I was being presented at the time that i was going to be killed in da streetz if i didn't have all that shit.

While in the USMC I spent my own money on aftermarket mag carriers for our garbage ass plate carriers. Honestly have no idea anymore what brand I bought but they were designed to work better with PMAGS and got the job done.

Best camo patterns in the US military and they gave us dog turd brown to negate it…

My thing against metal mags is that I've run into multiple noobs having function issues with their ARs that were running cheap metal mags at the range - usually the aluminum ones.

Not typical gassing/spring/broken shit/stuck case malfs but weird shit like rounds driving into the top of the barrel extension, double feeds and the like. All of them had their problems solved by me handing them a sub-$10 PMag from my bag that I told them to keep afterward.

Couch??? I thought that was a crumpled up leather jacket.
Look at the tastefully proportioned sectional cushions, the subtle olive drab coloring......

Oh my God it even has a crack forge 😮

Duramag and ASC have been my go-to's for stanag mags, Duramag even make a steel version along with their aluminum, if I could get more I'd get the Taiwanese made ones they run in the Type-91 just for being able to pair it with my frankensteined T-91 upper.

Duramag and Pmag are the move, Pmag can be had for $9 this year and $8 yester year if you gett a 10 pack on sale shipped.

I've fucked with most of them and most of them suck for either sticking in the magwell, feeling like squishy bullshit, or taking lots of effort to load. Also extra points if they handle 300blk which is pretty much only Magpul and Duramag ime. UTG mags are surprisingly nice but why not just get a Pmag for a bit less money.

you pussies have couches? I have one winged back chair, a table with a radio and oil lamp, reloading bench and a gun rack in the living room of my 4 room cabin. it's perfect.

When you're like me and you own a 150lb Great Dane who stands 32" at the front shoulders, you kinda need a couch...and two love seats. I got mine for free when my grandmother's neighbors were getting rid of it. They set it out on the curb to be collected and I asked if I could have it since it was still in awesome shape. I was able to get a semi-matching love seat (both green leather and similar styles) either for free or dirt cheap somewhere else.

Duelist1954 has terminal pancreatic cancer. Truly sad day finding out. I loved this guy's videos. Was immensely informational and fun to watch for BP and various old west guns. He will be missed.

For my particular use cases (shooting at people who are shooting at me) I would only ever trust STANAG (Brownells) or PMAG Gen 3.

Surefeeds are the absolute best but I missed that boat.

Do not fuck with anything polymer that isn't a Gen 3 PMAG. Train with anything, Gen 2s are uber cheap, but you should strive for the absolute best for your kit when it comes to feeding the gun.

The longer I do this and the more mags I accumulate, the more I favor metal mags over Pmags.

I do like the tactile grip on Pmags, but their tendency to stick in pouches and magwells makes them slightly more clumsy to use.
