Dark Mountain Stowaway 9mm

Did you ever want a single-shot 9x19 pistol that's the size of a barrel-less AR15? Well, have I got the gun for you!

By the way, it's $400 and you don't get sights or anything. There's also no regulatory differences, so it's not better than a 9mm handgun in any way.
I have one. Only worth it if you have a suppressor and shoot subsonic ammo, but fun and satisfying when you can. Very quiet then a loud thunk of a 147gr round hitting steel. A real shame they didnt make it with a magazine as that does noticeably detract from it. Would be a good cheap modern delise otherwise.

Speaking of quiet, got to fire my ss special ruger mark iv with 3 inch barrel. Suppressor + cci quiets is getting close to hollywood quiet. 40-50 feet away it sounds like a tire going flat then the impact.

I put together a bolt .22 that is a single shot 22long or LR or short and while it's currently half disassembled getting a scope installed the loudest part of that gun with shorts is the firing pin. Which is annoying and has led to much googleing of what's the quietest fireing pin in a 22.

The secret for GunBroker is to find the seller's store, call them directly, and offer them what they'd get after Gunbroker's massive cut.
That's brilliant.
As for high end wheelguns you can actually get in the US, if I were to buy one I'd probably go for the Manurhin MR-73 over the Korth.
I gotta say I'm a fan of that Korth .44 magnum. If I had to have a real high-end one it'd be one of those.
.338 ARC has been approved(and recognized) by SAAMI, get ready for the new wunder cartridge that's surely worth the admission price and isn't just a slightly different kind of retarded than 8.6 Blackout.

I like .300 BLK for what it can do in its very narrow niche. What's .338 ARC supposed to be good for?

Speaking of thumpers, part of me is curious about .45 caliber rifles for 200m and in. There's good ol' .45-70 but I'm wondering if the .450 Bushmaster wouldn't be just as good. I'd be reloading for either one I got. I have a lot of AR rifle experience but limited lever gun experience. That pushes me harder toward the Bushmaster. Its primary role would be hunting animals up to whitetail deer size.

They're chasing energy on target while also remaining subsonic, which means it needs a very big bullet. So they went up to the AR-10/short action footprint.
Hunters like the idea because suppressors are surging in popularity but for the most part it's another cartridge for reloaders to mess with.

.450 is on par with .45-70 for sure. It kicks like a motherfucker out of a lightweight AR though, it caught me by surprise when I first fired one.

I looked into 450 bush, it's cool and good for AR builds.

45-70 = based. Now you can put in a WAY heavier round 240-250 ish grn for bush, while 45-70 you can go that light but it's more in the range of 500 (hell that was one of the first rounds). Flexibility by far goes to 45-70.

Never shot the 450 but yikes.

If you're looking at white tail, check 300 HammR or fuck it just get a 7.62x39 slavic 30-30.

Trigger kicker looks really cool but I can't really see more than a day or less of fun with one given it isnt select fire.

Unless you're REALLY into larping as a squad support weapons guy and have money to burn on ammo as well.

I think they will sell like hot cakes because, better to have it than not, or more so stock up before they are banned.

I'm looking forward to in 10 years "fucking boomers and their $300 FA macs.... 7K for my TK'd PSA AR I know what I got!"

The .338 ARC is AR-15 action length. Hornady saw the rising popularity of suppressors plus their necked down Grendel (6mm ARC) failing to grow beyond PRC nerds and decided to neck it out instead to steal nearly all of 8.6 BLK's subsonic thunder in a smaller package.

.338 ARC --- .300 BLK --- .223 REM

It's hardly any better at supers than .300blk if at all but is about the most weight you can pack into an aerodynamic AR-15 cartridge.

Now if we're stepping up to AR-10 length and going for maximum subsonic mass then skipping 8.6blk for something like the .375 Raptor might be interesting for reloading. Just neck up a .308 WIN and shove 400gr of copper in there.

Yeah I got them completely blurred together in my mind, all these not-9x39 attempts are messing with me. Good summaries.

I just ordered this Volquartsen Mini Mamba 3" barrel upper to convert my stock 22/45 to something more fun. Can't wait. I've never liked the look of their plunger-thing bolt so hopefully the stock bolt fits right.

Also for anyone who has gone down the 1913-railed folding-pistol-brace rabbit hole I came across a listing on GunBroker for this thing that just mimics an AR buffer tube so you can use regular AR braces. For $70 I rolled the dice and I can't find anything wrong with it. That's like 1/2-1/3 the price of the others in the space and it seems to be a lot more useful. Time will tell if it holds up. I think one of his pics on the listing is mirrored so it's confusing which way it folds but it does fold to the left and it's hinge is wide enough to fully fold just right with SBA's wide braces. It came from China but I can't find it on Ali or Wish.

I need a carry gun because shoulder-strapping a 1911-A Mil-spec is really making my dinner dates uncomfortable. They be like "Uhhhhhh I don't like how your gun is like, pointed backward at our waiter. Wait, can you even have that in here? Also, is that true you can't drink and carry?" and I am like "Well, yeah, but also being sober, I FEEL the SEX better he he hhhhhhehh.... Besides, I drank before I got here so I'm cool, Heh ehhehhhh~...." which probably doesn't help either. Anywho! I need a recommendation for a really good gun, and price point doesn't matter, but these are the things I am looking for:

1. A revolver for daily concealed carry.
2. As accurate as the 1911 I got.
3. Night sights, because I dig them despite the world hating them.
4. Caliber doesn't matter. People are like "Uhhh, you can't stop someone with a 22?" and I'm like "Yeah dude, I have a soccer ball kicked into my dick by accident from a retarded child with broken legs, and it almost crippled me." So whatever.
5. Give up and maybe get like a 460XVR or a 500 S&W and just front-tuck it while everyone looks at me in horror. Might impress my dinner date though?

you just need to upgrade the 1911 so they're too dazzled by it to care

got two mec-gar glock mags for my old man's dagger and it turns out that the mag catch can't hold them in. the mags fall out when you shoot. fucking daggers, dude. i'm just gonna keep the mec-gars and get him OEM glock mags instead which is probably what i should have done in the first place.

I'm ordering a 1911 from the CMP.

Has anyone ordered one before? What kind of timeframe should I expect?

I ordered a Garand from them before, but I'm guessing the processing timescales could vary between the two.

From what I've heard about same time tables no matter what you get. I got my Gur And from them wasn't hard or long (TWSS).

I'm about to make some pretty good money soon and I am seriously considering a Beretta 1301 in celebration. I own a pump, but no semi-auto shotgun.

Somebody stop me. Or don't.
Congrats first and foremost. Second, good semi choice.

Beretta 1301
I’ve been looking at that or an M2 for a decent all around waterfowl/turkey gun without spending on a SBE3 or A400
Depends on what you want but the 1301 Tactical has a proprietary barrel and the Comp will not fit. Personally if I did go the 1301 route I'd get the Comp, either 21 or 24".
I stuck with the M2, at least I had the options of M1 and field barrels even if they're sometimes 1/3rd the price of the gun.
