looks like reploidrevo's friend MugenZeroX (sorry there's no archive atm, no one thought to do it apparently, and he's already gone private) is also now being canceled | (archive) with yet another big, funky google doc | (archive)

the only image as of this original posting is the one below, which is the single chatlog this person claims as proof of everything that they are saying happened.

Annoying question: is there a reason why Capcom just won't fucking remake Mega Man 2 already?

It's the most iconic and best selling game of the series, the one normies default to whenever they think of Mega Man, the one that comes up whenever discussion is made about why Mega Man merch can't sell (because everyone wants the MM2 robot masters not the MM1 robot masters or the lamoid side characters like Bass and Zero), and the one that basically defined everything that people love about Mega Man.

And given that Capcom has remade multiple Resident Evil games already, why not remake arguably the game that put Capcom on the map and made Mega Man a household name?

1) Do you trust modern day Capcom to remake anything?

2) It is actually now cool to hate Mega Man 2. I am serious, it is a thing.

Also, regarding Bass? He is actually the most beloved Mega Man Classic character by popularity polls that Japanese companies like to use that I am aware of. I am not joking. Not sure where Zero ranks for Mega Man X but I would imagine that also holds.

Do you really need more than romhacking tools, though?

Though yes, an MM Maker with easily-shareable stages would be good.

They were going to. Problem was the PSP remakes of MM1 and MMX bombed.
Which is hilarious because the PSP bombed in general but I guess they were really hunting for that Japanese audience but Western audiences are what made MM as big as it was. When Capcom hits a rut, they'll pump out another game. In the meantime I'm just happy they don't take down fan content that much.
