Direct all blame to the very fittingly named @Inafune Fanfiction for this thing I am dropping here.

According to Inafune, Legends is based off Miyazaki stuff like Future Boy Conan.

Inafune also revealed that he has a fetish for being stepped on in response to a question about Roll Caskett. Which is probably why Tron Bonne steps on Servbots, who she refers to as her kids. For the record, she is 14 years old.

Please do not shoot the messenger.

we only got that "X must fight Zero (and lose)" bullshit because of con man.
he tried really, really, really fucking hard to push his OC character as better than X in every way possible and ended up making a robot vegeta, basically.
I always felt like Vile was robot Vegeta for some reason, except never became good.

That I'll give you, DB Super did Vegeta extremely dirty. The guy actually regressed!
For all the shit people give GT, I think they depicted Vegeta perfectly. He was just pretty much settled down into his life as an Earthling & family man and way more chilled out, but still the same character. He was completely over growling and snarling at Goku and obsessing over surpassing him.

Oh no. The X4 faggots have entered the thread.

Can't wait for nearly 30-year-old memes, copypasta, autistic speedruns, and delusional X4 is Da BeSt GeMe EvAr!!11 posting.
I wanna see X4 copypasta, throw one at me lol

No no, I completely agree. The stache was a good touch.

In the context of this conversation, Zero is absolutely a Vegeta. He even gets a Majin-esque powerup form complete with ki aura and "this is how I really am." Evil turned good. Letter on his forehead when evil. Whole nine yards. They could not have made it more blatant.

As for X4 copypasta, I want to say I have seen Iris dissertations that read like that thing you dug up about Link and Medli.

con man literally made zero into pre-gt vegeta, mega man zero sets this on stone as X passes the torch to zero as "protector of humanity".

deja vu
this is fucking gay and i'm repeating myself when i say that fags can and will ruin shit with their "creator's pet" syndrome.

Your view of Vegeta must be tainted by DBS, it's the other way around!

Seriously though, Bass actually seems like a "Vegeta character" too, the series has a few of them. Bass kinda becomes "good" too.
Vegeta has always been a pathetic jobber. DBS just turns it up to 11.
He literally peaked in the saiyan saga, the saga where he jobs to GODku.

It's really vile how every character in DB is treated in DBS. Vegeta goes through all this character development, the series ends with him praising Goku and thanking him for being a positive influence on his life, then, in Super, Goku has mentally regressed into a child and Bejita is still eternally buttmad over his existence.
It's like this entire scene was just thrown out the window.

No, you're absolutely right and it's ridiculous. Inafune even admitted it in the guise of a joke back in 2007:

I didn't get to completely design a Mega Man [protagonist] from scratch until Zero (Mega Man X, SNES). Back when the SNES was coming out, I was asked to give Mega Man a redesign, so I created this character. But I realized that this design wouldn't be accepted as Mega Man, so I had another designer create the new Mega Man, and I worked on Zero to release him as the 'other main character' that would steal all the good scenes!"

So I played X2 again just to be sure. While it has some pretty nifty stages (Wheel Gator's, Morph Moth's, Magna Centipede's), I just do not see how it is better than X1, though it is competent.

The final stages were so much worse than Sigma Fortress in particular. Just uninspired.

Well done, up until you put in the last one I was like "WHERE IS SIGMA FORTRESS 1?!"

You did not disappoint.

X5 has some good ones, though I would argue many of the unused beta tracks are better than what they actually went with. Particularly Spike Rosered's stage.

I'm gonna have to try to get through those ones again (X4 and on), sometimes I have difficulty fully appreciating a game's music if I didn't play through the game itself. Which songs do you think are particularly good?

Let's see...

These are the beta tracks I think work better than the completed versions. They're a bit different, particularly Dr. Light.
