The reason I constructed that hypothetical is because I thought, apparently in vain, that it would be a simple enough scenario for even a pant wetting windowlicker to grasp that the religious right view abortion as literal baby murder. A number of churches considered evangelical are left leaning. The reason we take notice of them is 1) their size and density in the US and 2) activism is a core segment of evanglicalism. Any evanglical Christian (or any religion that is spread mostly by evangelism) worth their salt should be easy to spot, because it is their version of the pronoun obsession. Hell, Trump had decided to ignore the Catholic vote until mid-September, and that population is supposed to be pro-life (and pro-worker, pro-environment, pro-family, and option to the poor).
The GOP's abortion stance has been othing more than proverbial seasoning for their main course of militarism, supply side economics, and the extraction industry.
