What an ME tv series would probably end up being like:
Didn't they confirm that it was going to be a prequel or a midquel? Either way, your image is what happened in the main trilogy already. The reapers should have remained a distant treat that the Cycle deals with. It shouldn't have been an imminant danger that Shepard handles.

The upcoming show? It's supposed to take place after the first game trilogy and setup the next game in the main series. One of the first things that they did in the writer's room was to pick a canon ending for the trilogy games to use as the starting point for the television series. So we will get the official ending. I'm hoping for 'red' but some might want 'blue' or even 'green'.

I had only glanced at headlines, just checked and you seem to be right. It really seems that EA, Bioware and Amazon don't understand what made fans of the original thing into fans. Mass Effect was a sandbox, not a railroaded story...

Out of all the possible choices, of course the worst was chosen, the one that will be expected that everybody will watch, but nobody actually will.

If it was me, I'd have chosen to do a set of ~5 episode miniseries to fill out series lore, like the First Contact War, Shepard's origin story, Anderson's Spectre prospecting, Illusive Man's spooking, shit like that. God knows that there's a bunch of comics and books nobody read to crib everything from.

Green's out of the question now considering there isn't any green glow at all in the trailer or in any of the art. I doubt that it's Blue either since it raises the obvious question of why there's a Krogan civil war at all, especially if Renegade Shepard's in control. Red's the only one that makes sense for any conflicts to happen, but the other concept art shows the Geth still being around despite 3 clearly stating that Red will involve all synthetic life in the galaxy, even if the consequence is basically slapped on there.

Krogans chimping out after the genophage gets cured? Literally no one could have seen that one coming!
if it's as implied per standard ME3 shepard, then the krogan did a niggery because the genophage wasn't actually cured.
it does make sense that they would burst into a civil war as wreav implies on the tuchanka mission.
The time it takes them to actually make something these days is ridiculous though.
the funny part in your post is that it only takes time because of red tape, tool development has never been better to help even the most sloppiest of indies to be sharted out in a few months instead of years but the indie guy doesn't have a million billion jeets and dangerhairs to report to if they want to make a simple change in the game and trying to give feedback to them is like trying to talk to a deaf person.

lorewise geth ventured beyond the galaxy, not just the veil, it's how the reapers found them.

I was visiting the Instagram of Kaidan's face model and I realized he may have predicted the look of the Turians, Krogans, and Quarians on the TV series.

I really hope 13 years of me saying "why the fuck do you believe what the Reapers are telling you seconds before you are about to kill them?" is justified and they just go with "they fucking lied"

But that would be too good.

They could have made the easiest thing possible by adapting the First Contact War but no... instead they will make another shitty show like Fallout or the Rangz of Power.
First Contact War would have been fucking based. The Turians had to level pretty much the entire colony from orbit on account of how capably the humans had been fighting them off despite our technological disadvantage.

They certainly alluded to the stubbornness and tenacity of humans and how unprepared the Turians were for that kind of fight. How it eventually came down to Ash's father having to surrender to save the remaining civvies from being genocided.

That's just cope, considering the game basically says they're telling the truth. Wipe out the Quarians to save the Geth and pick Destroy? The ending slides show a dead homeworld instead of showing the Geth like in Synthesis or Control.

If the show or the next game goes with your explanation, that's 100% a retcon

They already retconned their ending once, they can do so again.
Honestly it was ballsy to make three endings that all make a sequel an impossibility.

It would be a good retcon, as far as they go. The destroy ending damages less of the galactic infrastructure the higher your war score is, so a safely guarded Crucible is capable of killing the reapers without destroying galactic technology. You'd have to get into really goofy sci-fi magic to explain how the crucible's emission could distinguish between intelligent synthetics and all the computer systems that are in everything else, but hey this is mass effect so there's plenty of magic already (especially in the synthesis ending). The logical answer would be that the crucible targets reaper hardware, and so the Geth would take only minor damage since they have only worked with the reapers intermittently and still mostly use their own hardware. EDI would be fine, since the Normandy survives.

Outside of logic, it would also be good for storytelling. Shepard is physically annihilated in Synthesis/Control, so the only hope of him/her getting to retire and live happily ever after rebuilding the Galaxy with your love interest is a destroy ending. Naturally, they can keep it vague on if Shepard was a guy and who they shacked up with so as many people as possible can feel like their Shepard is canon. We will also want to see the Quarians and Geth working out their issues, which would be something totally new to explore. Killing off one of the races makes the ME galaxy smaller and less interesting, with less possibilities for new stories and conflicts to explore. I also think a cured genophage will be canon. Wrex / Clan Urdnot did a lot of work to unfuck Krogan civilization, but there would still be a lot of resentment and old wounds coming back up to the surface after a cured genophage. It would make sense that there'd be a battle for the fate of the Krogan, the civil war they are now teasing. This could be ongoing in ME5 or it could be over and there could be a residual threat for the player to encounter.

Lastly, remember the "can you tell me another story about the Shepard?" cutscene at the end of ME3? Bioware was smart, they knew they weren't going to want to end the story of the ME galaxy, so left themselves a little room for reinterpretation. These are all old stories, passed down through the aeons. Maybe it happened this way, maybe it happened another way. I wouldn't get too wound up about canon.

Man, all this talk wants me to play the entire trilogy with another class.
Give me ideas. I played Soldier and Sentinel.
