N7 day, I wonder what we will get.
Fucking nothing.

Happy N7 Day, everyone!

You guessed it … I come to you with another blog! But each year that I write these, they are important moments of reflection for me. I get to pause and think about how truly lucky we are to have Mass Effect, and how thankful we are for the community and support we get. We’ve been through a lot together, and we appreciate you.

Like you, we’ve heard the rumors lately. You’ve made it clear you care deeply about what’s next. So let’s start by setting the record straight: the next Mass Effect game is in development, and EA and BioWare remain committed to telling more stories in this universe.

The truth is, the last few years have been an incredibly busy time at BioWare. But currently, the team is heads-down and focused exclusively on Mass Effect. We have a lot of universe to cover, lots of features to build, and lots of romances to figure out. We’re excited by what we’re building, and we promise you: when we’re ready, it’ll be a lot of fun to show. Until then, thank you for your patience because y’all are thirsty for news and I see you looking for secret meaning in my tweets (okay, sometimes they have secret meaning).

Beyond the next game, there’s more to get excited about. I haven’t talked about it much, but you might have heard a little something about a TV series? We’ve been partnering closely with Amazon on it, and we’re really excited with what the talented team over there is coming up with.

The writers room is going strong, and we’ve got a lot figured out about how it fits within the Mass Effect canon, and where it sits in respect to the new game. The show will explore a brand-new story within the universe’s timeline, and will be set after the original trilogy. It won’t be a retread of Commander Shepard’s story – because after all … that’s YOUR story, isn’t it?

Keep an eye on our social channels for more celebrations today including some awesome new Mass Effect gear, free crossover items appearing in skate. and Apex Legends, and more.

Happy N7 Day,

Mike Gamble Executive Producer, Mass Effect

PS – Disclaimer: there is no secret game information to be gleaned by anything I’m saying today, I promise.

The positive thing is that if a show goes on the entire ME universe won't get shitcanned anytime soon, ideally the next game would be given to another studio so Bioware can't fuck it up either but perhaps there is still a bit of hope yet that some non-dogshit media gets produced, though I guess that is very optimistically speaking.

The one thing that gives me a sliver of hope is thinking whoever was left at Bioware that could have fucked things up worse has been summarily fired already.

I’m surprised BioWare didn’t try to make a huge deal out of this years N7 to try and show off the next game or at least something interesting in hope that their new owners take pity and don’t shut BioWare down the second they get a chance.

if they want to praise the new owners then they start better cooking a reason as to why cristiano ronaldo has to be a mass effect crewmember.
CR7 joins the N7 o algo.

>u r l k r o g a n
What did he mean by this?
If you add the italicized letters (krogan) and the italicized N7 at the end to the blog post URL, you will be redirected to an old Mass Effect 3 multiplayer mode post. Hopefully that means they will bring multiplayer into the trilogy collection, stripped of microtransaction AIDS.

I do have a challenge for you guys, other sites are too low IQ to bother asking. The mass effect twitter posted another hint:

Can anyone figure out the correct URL for this one?

Studios really need to stop announcing games when they have nothing to show for them. Sure it's nice to know they're working on it but I'd rather not have a decade of radio silence or vague posting after the fact (here's looking at you Bethesda). Hell, as far as I'm concerned, they shouldn't even be announcing games until they're done and ready to ship; otherwise you wind up with situations like Cyberpunk 2077 or S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 where the release gets delayed by months or years.

The time it takes them to actually make something these days is ridiculous though. Was it announced too early? Maybe, But it was announced in 2020, they've had 5 years to cook something up, It's a year since Veilguard dropped like a turd.
For comparison the first mass effect game began development in 2004, less than a year later they released the first trailer.

I for one am hoping they go full chudmode and release a Batarian war crime simulator spin-off.

Khar'Shan has fallen, billions must become husks.
Commander Shepard was once asked how it felt to kill over 300,000 people in the Bahak system just to slow down the Reapers. Shepard replied that he hadn't killed a single person there, only Batarians.
