The wildly popular autistic protagonist interpretation for this game reminds me of another similar incident in internet culture. When MLP first became a big internet phenomenon, the bronies quickly latched on to a derpy eyed background character in the show as endearing meme material (the derp face was actually just the result of an animation error), but then the bronies proceeded to collectively craft an extensive backstory regarding the character's hypothetical physical/mental retardation. The bronies were even able to make their handicapped interpretation of the derp-faced pony canon and even a plot point in MLP episodes due to the popularity of the meme and the studio's willingness to pander to their fanbase.

If Bioware embraces the meme, they can be like the MLP studio and turn facial animation error into good PR and pandering opportunity for fanbase.

Well whats the human cast consist of? An attractive manlet, an autistic girl, a tranny porn star, whats next? I'm starting to think they rounded up all the people they didn't want in their future utopia, put them on their own generation ship, and shot them into the Delta Quadrant.

SJWs threw a shit fit about that horse, and got Hasbro to tone down the tard implications, and they weren't even a major part of the fandom.

Biowhore's entire fan base seems to be batshit SJWs, so I think they'd freak the fuck out at any such thing. Not that they don't freak out and shit their pants about literally anything.

Not to mention Bioware has a spotty, at best, record in terms of handling criticism. They'll probably continue to learn absolutely nothing from ME3 and just call gamers bigoted again.

Played to the Nexus and so far it's a mixed bag. The character animations are inexcusably bad but the scenery on habitat 7 was lovely. They actually managed to make that environment look alien to a franchise that's already explored the Milky Way, which is impressive. The story so far is pretty damn great, more than enough to keep me invested, and the basic premise of exploring Andromeda specifically was what I was hoping for ever since Bioware first mentioned the possibility of continuing the franchise past 3. But seriously, what is up with those animations? Was the budget slashed, or what?

We're just overly entitled people because we want quality in our $60 AAA releases.

It would also require them admitting a massive fuckup, which the hoorow around ME3's ending proves they will never, ever do.
They will be arrogant until the end.

This was basically my opinion as well. It's in character for Bioware to go full pander mode and I could see them backtracking and saying Sara actually does have autism. But let's be frank: as the game presents her, she is not a sympathetic portrayal of autism. She's annoying, she's ugly, and she's painfully awkward. I feel most normal autistic people would find the "reveal" extremely patronizing.

And the SJWs would just complain about Bioware fetishizing autism. Which is hilarious because that's exactly what SJWs do.

my roommate has been watching me play this for the past two days

"dude all you do is scan things and play sudoku"

How is the actual gameplay? It seems like that's the least important thing, I always hear about the animation and story but no one talks about the combat, I gave mass effect credit in alot of the single player was actually pretty tough, for me at least. Most AAA games these days are cake walks.
