For a totally anecdotal sign that the MCU is "over", I've been hearing from people who went to theaters to see the new Avatar film, which features the trailer for the next Avengers film, and they've told me that the vocal reaction from audiences has usually been some mix of indifference and derision.

I do not think it is realistic to expect athlete level muscle 24/7
I think it's realistic to expect athlete level muscle for an athlete level salary, especially when the rest of the job description is "eat hot chip and lie".

Especially in a genre where like 40% of the job is being fit and looking cool. This shit ain't shakespeare, it's stuff you watch to get psyched up for the gym. Or it used to be anyway.

To be fair, the teaser is shite if it's the one I'm thinking of.

True but good luck persuading someone who makes a stand-alone action movie. However, those who are into a contract for many such flicks, have no such excuse. You are paid in advance to at least retain some of that physique in between films.

I'm not expecting people to ruin their bodies over a fucking comic book movie, especially women. But, yeah, there should be a sensible exercise routine so that the people look like they are physically fit.

This is fine for me.

Evangeline Lilly (Hope/Wasp) did bulk up for the role, even though her suit covers her fully. So did the Valkyrie negress, but who cares about that.
Unrelated to anything but that Valkyrie woman is my most hated actress in Hollywood. For awhile every fucking movie I saw, she was in, she isn't particularly good, isn't particularly pretty, and something is wrong with her mouth. Idk how to describe it, she talks out the corner of it or something it drives me insane. I have nothing really against her personally but I can't stand looking at her, and dont understand why they dont cast more attractive black women in things and instead fill movies with weird looking light-skinned girls like her, or straight butt-ugly dark ones. there's plenty of hot black women who probably can act, why do they present us with these ones?

I saw it the other day and there was a kid probably 9-11 or something who seemed mildly excited about it in front of me and a dude behind me who went "Christ there's too many of these"

The "trailer" is disappointing. They finished filming about two or three months ago and they have nothing to show but the actors in front of a green screen. And we aren't even seeing them, but Chris Evans who's not even in costume, so he might not even be Cap but some "variant". They are desperate and it feels.

The funny thing is that Reynolds was able to show a much better teaser by releasing a 10 seconds sequence foreshadowing Gambit going to the MCU, which foreshadowed the X-men. Fuck it, the Marvels did it better with Monica and Beast.

Feige has no idea what he's doing and you can tell they can't show actual footage because they still don't know what they will use or what they might need to eventually change.

The actors may have finished filming, but the script still has to be written.

Right. They filmed Bucky punching down a green dummy and each the actors filmed being punched as well, so they will mix the scenes together depending on who will be the punched.
I actually don't know if you're making this up or it's a real reference to a leak / publicity thing. That's how bad it's gotten.

Thomson is picked for ideological reasons. Also, while she IS hot, she downplays it also for ideological reasons. It is the uglyfication of Hollywood. Can't have women looking feminine.

they find out about galactus, go there, he comes here, sue wins, it's over. that's literally it. everything you'd WANT to see in a fantastic four movie, is relegated to a montage in the beginning and you don't see it at all.
Even the idea of an alternate Earth isn’t fleshed out, so what's the point?
I honesty wish more actresses worked out to achieve a genuine muscular but still feminine look.
I remember reading somewhere that Marvel forced the VFX artists to make She-Hulk look less muscular, but ended up making her look like a twig.

There are times where I have to explain the D-list heroes being adapted to my dad.

And again, they couldn't just... cast a really buff woman and get some green body paint because?
I can see why: She-Hulk is very tall. Finding such a woman who is also a good actress might be an uphill battle. I get the CGI need but there was no excuse for everything else. CGI her into being taller and you are fine. Just settle on a good design.

thats just what the average man looked like back in the 90s. it was pre-seed oil. it would be like Stavy looking like he does now and being a superhero.

They can just do what they did on the Social Network and just swap the faces. that way you can have the pretty actress doing lines while also having some tall person. they can even cast a man as the She-hulk.
