To elaborate further, the evidence does seem a bit thin considering the source is probably Grace Randolph, however, sources are also backed by actions. Cicero described Mark Anthony as reckless and emotional. We can take this with a massive grain of salt since Cicero and many other sources hated Mark Anthony. However, their descriptions of him are aided by the fact that Mark Anthony's actions seem to be the result of a reckless and emotional person. Hence, we can believe them more.
So, with that in mind, let's turn back to Marvel, and all of the things they have done and the things they are currently doing:
1. They cast Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards. If rumors are to be believed, he was not their first choice, but other actors didn't want the role because they feared they would be sidelined, along with the fact that Marvel starring roles aren't what they used to be. Pedro, on the other hand, seems to be continuously type casted as the "suave and competent man who is later deconstructed and turns out to be a loser, so he gives his role to a better, female character." The trailers seem to lean into this, and it's also become an MCU staple since Endgame.
2. Actors mentioned that sex roles would be a major part of this movie.
3. Johnny's actor has come out and said that his take on the character would not be the ladies' man we all know and love from the comics, but a softer, more tame version of him.
4. We barely hear about Ben at all.
5. Female Silver Surfer.
6. Sue Storm is continuously put front and center in the trailers.
7. The reshoots have been confirmed to add Silver Surfette as a human before becoming herald. More than likely to add the Marvel patented "yeah, she's a villain, but let's add a sob story to make her more sympathetic because we can't have females be competely evil."
All of which is saying that, while the specifics may be bullshit, it sure does stink because I can see what they're doing and can expect the same thing we've been getting for half a decade at this point.
