I feel for you. Despite all the "White man bad" stuff that gets pushed, one form of abuse we tend not to get is being patronised. If every time a White man came on screen, Cardi B started playing, I'd be pretty pissed too. (Note, I know so little about current rap and related, that's the first name I could come up with).

If all people want is the vague shape of the thing they want to be represented through they don't care about the art or the context of the story. They're telling you that none of the things that went into the story or world of the piece of media matters because there isn't a black or indian person there for them to slide themselves into and feel a part of the world. It's ironic considering how these people claim racism but are telling you that the only thing important about them is the chance of them being born a minority and nothing they have done means anything because being a minority is the only accolade they have.

I've always said that these people are the biggest issue to creativity because they don't actually care about the very concept of creativity.

Not sure if it’s the right place for it, but considering between movies this might as well be a Marvel General thread - EA has shut down production of the Black Panther game they were working on, and has shuttered the studio.

In other news, EA was apparently developing a Black Panther video game. Which, why? Chadwick was good in the role, don’t get me wrong, but Black Panther is kinda just there - hell, the only things of note I remember about Black Panther was him being married to Storm, and something about destroying all the Vibranium.

Killmonger and Klaw are honestly his only two villains that have any form of resonance with average readers. That's why they had to attempt to rationalize why Atlantis would give a fuck about an inland nation for the second movie. Doubt they would pull someone like Bushman (Moon Knight's original nemesis and employer) since that would shed some light on African warlords.

Bushman was also used in the Luke Cage series. That's not an absolute block against them just re-doing the character in the movies, but it is a count against it.

They used Namor and Atlantis because Namor drowned Wakanda during the Avengers v. Xmen event with the Phoenix Force and that caused hatred between Tchalla and Namor while they were on the Illuminati. Thing is this rivalry or conflict is nonexistent in the MCU, but the MCU always just takes surface level ideas, storylines and characters context be damned.

If Chadwick Boseman was still alive and BP2 was a thing I would make it alot more smaller and self-contained and use Kraven the Hunter as an antagonist. I wouldn’t sugarcoat his brutality or desire to hunt big game in Wakanda or Tchalla itself. I wouldn’t make its selling point the “cultural identity” of black people like the first movie marketed itself as and I would have Kraven kill several Dora Milaje as a “warmup.” But my movie would never happen, cant have a white Russian guy upstage negros.
