Thousands of top scientists that he sunsequently silences/dissappears on top of the tens of thosands of artists/engineers/etc etc etc with nobody noticing.
. Unless we're back to Veidt inventing a field of science again.
I don't think "ultra wealthy trillionare with connections has enough money to temporarily cover up conspiracy" is an issue, especially considering the comic ends by implying he won't be able to keep up the facade forever.

I am not planning to watch Agatha, because I expect it to be terrible. But why is she in a quest to "get her powers back"?

Didn't the establish that anybody could learn magic? Hence Dr strange going from being a doctor to a wizard?

I guess it makes sense for Wanda having special unique powers. But the others? Is this another retcon? It seems to me that this was poorly planet.

You're expecting a consistent and coherent storyline. That's your mistake. If you try to make sense of this it will at best make you head hurt and at worst, lead to insanity.

Don't ask questions, just consume product and then get excited for next product.

Moore via Veidt is/was assuming humans will go against their humanity and not get into a pissing match of who is going to be in charge of protecting the planet and people. Cause the communists and the anti-communists ain't going to tolerant the other leading them for very long. Moreso if there's no further attack(s) by another space squid; and the people start to wonder why they still having to put up with someone else continuing to boss them around.

Rorschach's journals, notes and whatever else in the package in of and by themselves don't matter much at all. However after the space squid attack, the people whether they're homeless schizo Joe Smoe or the seat warmer in the White House, are going to want answers. Veidt having his name tied to the attack even in a fringe publication is liable to get someone to start asking him questions.

Men in Black nailed this on why anybody of importance would even glance at or even read those publications.

Ancient greece was mostly a bunch of squabbling city states that hated one another except whenever the persians came knocking, at which points they just united until the persians were fought off with little to no complaints.

The idea that this is humans going against humanity is dumb, because we know it happens, the only valid argument here is that things will start to fall appart after squids stop dropping from the squid which yeah sure, but the idea in the first place was to deflate the cold war, everlasting peace was obviously never gonna happen.

Something the Greeks understood and Moore didn't.

It all about it falling apart over who's going to be the head honcho and who's dictating the terms. Not about whether the attack really happened or not as you're the one who wrote that not me.

Not a sound idea using the space squid and possible threat of another one showing up whenever. As the people who'll guarding against the another possible space squid will likely have access to nukes and the permission to use them to protect the greater bughives if needed to.

Here's a review from The AV Club of the latest Marvel streaming sludge.

It's supposed to be a positive review but instead successfully makes this show sound like some sort of torture to watch.

We know that Agatha was under a spell at the end of WandaVision, so is this just a delusion she’s living in now? As fake credits for a show called Agnes Of Westview roll, punctuated by a title card that reads “Based on the Danish series WandaVisdysen” and a version of Agatha All Along’s original song, “The Ballad Of The Witches’ Road,” that sounds an awful lot like the original rendition of Tom Waits’ “Way Down In The Hole” that accompanies the second season of The Wire, all signs point to yes

Oh good, more of the nonsense you saw in WandaVision, as brought to you by standard LA hack writers who believe they're clever when what they usually produce is navel-gazing nonsense passed off as "meta".

It’s a relief, then, that the dialogue becomes more recognizable as intentionally bad as the episode finds its groove. (“Eat my ass, Chief,” Agnes tells her boss when Aubrey Plaza’s FBI agent, Rio, shows up unwanted and unannounced.) And it’s even more of a relief when, roughly 25 minutes in, the true-crime pretense is dropped completely.

From the rest of the review it sounds dire, yet another streaming project that will barely be watched by anyone except for the terminal MCU-heads and will not help with the spiraling of the Marvel brand.

The show feels like a holdover of the MCU before they started cutting back. I've watched each show as it came out, but this made me tap out around ten minutes into the second episode. There's just zero substance.

So it's...a rehash of WandaVision with different characters no one cares about? Not even like, a unique show about characters no one cares about?

This is about Agatha All Along, innit? That's what's being discussed, right? I came across some posters of it twice a couple of days ago, 1st on a bus, and 2nd time on the side of a bus shelter. Both times, I had suppress a "For Fuck's Sake..."

Oh boy Kathryn Hahn AND Aubrey Plaza?!!? I can't miss this shitpile fast enough. Fuck both these bitches and especially Plaza with her tired sassy cynical bullshit.

I'm surprised they didn't dump Agatha all at once like they did with Echo. Releasing it weekly is just gonna give people a chance to laugh at how bad the ratings are and how they continually sink every week.

The nicest thing I've heard said about this show, from non-Disney shills, is that this is a perfect amazing show. "If you are a middle-aged California wine mom that thinks ordering a margarita is "naughty," said Greg Owen. Just like the consensus here said by people earlier is by mature women that have fantasies of being witches. Spot on.

It sounds like once again someone used a multimillion dollar budget and wasted everyone's time instead of going to therapy to deal with their issues.

A bummer because I actually think witches can be cool. Bewitched, Charmed, anyone? But not when it's Karens, ugly women, and a guy as the token gay, playing Halloween dress up.

I didn't watch Wandavision, but I have to ask once again

Who gives a fuck about Agatha Harkness?
Disney never seems to ask that question. With a couple exceptions they've been throwing movie-level budgets at no-name directors to write shows about characters with basically no fanbase. Echo, Ms. Marvel, even Nick Fury. This Agatha show could be fantastic but most people will never give it a chance because they're burned out and don't remotely care about a spinoff of another spinoff. Andor was probably the best star wars show but it's also one of the least viewed because nobody gave a fuck about cassian andor.

I keep seeing picture of Aubrey Plaza in this show pop up, and all I can keep thinking is how fast she's hitting the wall.

Then again, she's 40 right so I guess she's doing "okay"

She has Hispanic blood somewhere in her family tree, and they mostly age well. That reminds me: she's the same age as my nan when I was born. She gave birth to my mum at 18. Sometimes, every now and then, I look at women around the same age range as Aubrey Plaza, and think, "Fuck... some of them could already be grandmother's right now!", even though, really, that's still pretty much a young woman. And 40 is also the age when my paternal gran's mum gave birth to her. She's my great-gran's youngest child, and was an accident, conceived at, or after the end of the Second World War.

I think the youngest known grandma, so far, was 29 when her grandchild was born. That was because she was from some Carpathian village place, where she had her daughter at like, 13-14, and her daughter then got knocked up herself at the age of 15, at the oldest.

@xXx State of the Union Apathetic sarcasm is not a substitute for a sense of humour.

This has never been my experience in real life.

Cool story, bro.
