So you stopped caring about Deadpool around 1996?Sticking just to the comics I stopped caring for Deadpool when Marvel switched from the Rob Liefield version of Deadpool. When he was a more professional merc who rarely does snark comments. Not the post Whedon snarky fourth wall breaker the Marvel 00s writers stolen and recreated.
For fourth wall breaking 1930ies to 1940ies Warner Brothers cartoons pioneered and owned that shit.
Close as I had nope the fuck out of Marvel and DC comics in 1997.So you stopped caring about Deadpool around 1996?
I'm still confused why team "muh representation" didn't throw a shit fit about "elder erasure" or whatever. (Oh that's right, they don't actually know anything about the media they're whining about.)Madame Web would be a lot cooler if it was a bout a lady pimp and her 3 prostitutes.
Yes, but also no because they would have had enough sense to say no.Can you imagine Helen Mirren or Judi Dench in the title role?
I'm sick of badass grandmas in media. At least old men can still be in decent shape. With elderly women it looks like the actress will break her arm at the slightest recoil.I'm still confused why team "muh representation" didn't throw a shit fit about "elder erasure" or whatever. But seriously, a good older actress could have portrayed a much more faithful adaptation of the character. Can you imagine Helen Mirren or Judi Dench in the title role?
To be fair, Madame Web is supposed to be like blind and a cripple I'm pretty sure.I'm sick of badass grandmas in media.
They got Pierce Brosnan for Doctor Fate. I'm sure there's a way if there's sufficient financial will.Yes, but also no because they would have had enough sense to say no.
Comic-accurate Madame Webb is a blind woman who lives in a life support chair. She's a mentor/advisor type character, not an action hero. If you were to have her as the focus character while her sidekick (say, Jessica Drew?) was the person who handled the action, that would be an interesting direction to take.I'm sick of badass grandmas in media. With modern writing you fucking know the writers will have her in improbable fight scenes and gloat about it. I don't think it's allowed to have passive women in cinema anymore.Comic-accurate Madame Webb is a blind woman who lives in a life support chair. Sony: "It's all we fuckin' got! OKAY!?"I'm really curious what the strategy behind Kraven, Madame Webb and Morbius is.
They want eyes on their product and not on the MCU. The more shit they churn out, the less Tom Holland (seemingly) gets to star in new MCU movies. The whole thing is a mess.Imagine Helen Mirren in fricking Marvel slop. I'd unironically watch that.
I'm really curious what the strategy behind Kraven, Madame Webb and Morbius is. Three abysmal awful movies who cost a shitton of money with barely any payoff. Is this like to save some license rights to the names? Or advertisement for Venom 3? That's the only "sony spiderman universe" movie that had any positive impact. And they must know it's all shit, no one can tell me Sony doesn't realize how bad these movies are.
Yeah but they went with kind of a combination of the two Madame Webs. It's technically the old lady one (Cassandra/Cassie Web), but she's young like the Julia Carpenter one.Comic-accurate Madame Webb is a blind woman who lives in a life support chair. She's a mentor/advisor type character, not an action hero.
Had to look up all of them except for Pedro Pascal. I guess he could go either way. For the others, I have no views on the Ben Grimm actor but I feel Johnny Storm should be better looking.Casting news for the Fantastic Four is finally here. Seems to have been pushed back to 2025 and will premiere in the same month as Superman Legacy.
