I feel like killing off Ultron was a mistake. A genocidal super computer that’s on the run would have been a fun premise to have as a joke antagonist with Stan Lee-like cameos (he shows up in Guardians and pawns an arm to Rocket, briefly shows up in the background of a Thor movie and back pedals out of a scene).
The end result being that eventually he stops being a joke and is a downright threat again.

I feel like they really, really shouldn’t have perma-killed off something that by nature cannot die.
One Ultron head is seemingly active in Spider-Man Homecoming.

I watched the first episode of Agents of Shield when it aired on tv and thought it was terrible and never even attempted to watch another episode. I do remember this guy I know trying to explain to me something about that show before Infinity War or Endgame came out and he insisted I was wrong when I told him nothing from that show was going to matter in the movie. I do feel bad for fans of that show for sitting through however many hours of it there is only for it to mean absolutely nothing in the grand scheme of things MCU wise. that sucks ass. as a Netflix marvel fan I sympathize but I knew from the jump none of that was going to matter because of how vaguely the events of Avengers were alluded to.
I was one of those retards who went to watch the first couple episodes of InHumans in IMAX too, talk about a waste of money. I've never seen the rest of that either. I actually just looked up a list and I didn't realize how many tv shows they made that were in the MCU before D+. I forgot Agent Carter existed (might give that a watch though) and literally just didn't know they made runaways, cloak and dagger,or a fucking Daimon Hellstrom show. Some poor asshole sat through every episode of all of that shit thinking it would mean a single thing going forward in the movies.

I’m more talking about they should have continued cameos by minor villains as a joke rather than killing everyone off. A faulty Ultron Drone stumbling around in the background or some joke villain being in Newspapers/ YouTube videos that the protagonist is reading.

Marvel at some point stopped doing that when they typically at least threw in some Easter eggs or overt references of another character existing.

The Ultron head from the gay spider-man movie is from when Marvel/ Disney still had time to try to put effort into their bread and butter.

It started really bad, but it was just spinning its wheels until Winter Soldier hit. After that it gets a lot better, it's never holy shit fucking amazing but it has it's great moments and I found it overall very enjoyable.

Yeah, like I said, I enjoyed it thoroughly, but for what it was. There was the hope it would get a payoff in the movies eventually, nothing big like the characters showing up in Endgame or something (I'm sure some delusionals expected it tho), but one thing that I thought they could have done is have a particular character from the show (the one played by Ming Na Wen, the lady who was Chun Li in the SF2 movie) appear in Captain Marvel, since in the show's story, she should have been around Coulson in the 90's. But they didn't, at that point it was clear they were never gonna do anything (although they did put Jarvis from the Agent Carter show in Endgame...).
The point is, like the Netflix shows or whatever else, you gotta enjoy it for itself, not just as another thing in the brand for which you watching experience has to be validated by getting a nod in a movie.

And boy do they need the validation. Got, for instance, to the AOS subreddit, they're still holding onto it. Even when every mention of Coulson ignores his show resurrection, even when the Darkhold is now in play and is nothing like the one in the show, even when the rumors of Daisy Johnson showing up in Secret Invasion turned out to be arse, no, they still say IT'S CANON GOD DAMMIT.

It's not.

Not even Daredevil is canon. They may have brought back the actors, and kept the backstories vague or completely unaddressed, but they already made Kingpin's characterization in Hawkeye instantly incompatible with his Netflix DD self. The terminally lonely man who hid from the world and whose only friend was his assistant, turns out he also ran a wacky gang of russian mobsters, and had a friend in the gang so close to him, he would publicly go out with the friend's daughter for ice cream.
Fuck off, Marvel.

Don't bother. The first season is tolerable, but makes Peggy look like an absolute cunt. She keeps what she learned about the bad guy's plan secret because of """sexism""", resulting in dozens of her coworkers being massacred.

The second season is an all around turd. The bad guy is a lesbian love interest who is only evil because of, you guessed it, """sexism""". So Peggy gets to redeem her, have sexual tension with her, and eventually team up with her to fight the real bad guy (a MAN).

That's been a major issue with the MCU since the start. Deaths get retconned in comics all the time, but generally speaking, the MCU has been a lot more sparing about hitting the undo button on character deaths, barring the obvious undo of the Snap in Endgame that anyone with two brain cells knew was coming so it wasn't dramatic. Thus, if a villain gets offed, he's gone for good. Over the years, that means that a lot of good villain material is no longer available for use, so they have to keep digging for anyone remotely usable.

Then again, that flies out the window entirely when you consider the multiverse angle they've been pushing since Endgame. Want to bring a villain back? Easy, just yoink them from a parallel world and have them start wreaking havoc again. Who cares that there's no stakes in a villain that has nothing to do with the main timeline, clap at things you recognize!

I think the writers just cannot see the value in a recurring villain, or at least one that isn't unceremoniously killed in his first appearance. They probably think it's a failure whenever the good guys don't completely and totally win over the bad guys, because evil is something that must always be extinguished completely or else you're complicit.

Done years before already.

Eh, might just be the Japanese politeness, but that's the way he says he didn't like a movie.
If he likes a movie, he'll comment on whatever aspects he found noteworthy.
But for Captain Marvel? "Saw Captain Marvel".
And for The Marvels? "Saw The Marvels".
Something I’ve heard about Japanese business culture is that if the high-ups respond to something with a short vague answer like “we’ll think about it”, that’s code for “your idea sucks and we’ll never do it”, which can lead to confusion if Westerners are working with them.

In regards to point number 3, I guarantee you that they deliberately spoiled that in a desperate attempt to boost sales.

I like that Spider-Man is beloved by pretty much every demographic. Nice to have some continuity in this world.

Imagine freeing yourself of Warner Bros and walking into the MCU after Endgame and being usurped by James Gunn at DC. Having the guy that got people mad at him for using the Superman is Jesus allegory is sure to end well if you use a nordic god in a society that is looking to demonize anything that even remotely can be liked by suspected white supremacists.
The hypothetical announcement of Marvel Studios considering Zack Snyder for a Thor movie is entertaining enough just to see how shills like MovieBob would react

I watched most of the series and it pretty much led to the women of shield by the end.

These niggas aint ready for a new DoomBlazer. This time, he's unpacking the metaphors of the MCU.

The OG Six Avengers represent the 6 Infinity Stones 😐

Hulk: The Power Stone because he's strong. In Endgame bruce accepted his power. Couldn't you say the same thing about every character tho?
Thor: The Space Stone cuz he can travel through space with the Bifrost. He also found his own space after Endgame :story:
Hawkeye: The Reality Stone cuz he's the most REALISTIC character on the team. It's easier to become Hawkeye IRL over Iron Man.
Black Widow: The Soul Stone cuz she died for it.
Cap: The Time Stone cuz he's a man out of time.
Iron Man: Mind stone cuz he's smart.

"Kind of poetic to be honest."

Gives me vibes of when Disney made the Force Awakens and every YouTuber had retarded theories and metaphors. These corporations are laughing all the way to the bank, they just make retarded movies.

Crossposting, but I found a comment that does give a bit of insight as to why characters like Captain Marvel are made the way they are.

Is there any hope that China will start making movies pandering to us? I would expect Chinese blockbusters to be less communist and anti-white than the average Hollywood movie.

The chinks have sorta done that in an off-handed way, back in 2021 they released The Battle for Lake Changjin, the Chinese actually make the Americans appear badass, in the opening with MacArthur they make him look like Thanos. The English actors are fucking awful though because they couldn't really get any American English speakers for their propaganda movie.

Ultron was super wasted honestly, he should've been saved as one of the overarching villains for the Avengers to fight like Thanos or Galactus, he's had the Avengers on the ropes numerous times and effectively even won when you bring some of the multiverse stuff too. I know when I originally saw the film, I felt kinda bummed because of all the comedy when the trailer gave off the idea of a much more sinister theme.

Ultron's initial entrance when he's just...rambling and learning to use his body set expectations that were never met. His little "don't do this, please..." to Wanda is the only other line I can remember.
