Speaking of Spiderman, the fan film Spider-Man Lotus came out and it certainly has a lot more thought into it emotionally compared to certain Marvel properties (like Quantamania, which is definitely the most soulless MCU movie by far), but its still capeshit within the lens of a student film that has Spider-Man spend most of the movie crying about Gwen's death to the point of trauma dumping on a dying 10 year old.
It also is funny how weird it is from a in-universe lore standpoint given one of the movies that are playing at a theater was Black Widow, and the 10 year old has a lot of Spider-Man merch supposedly based on the Spider-Man who was active for 5 years.
Honestly I just didn't know where else to talk about this movie.

still editing this post because the images on this site don't fucking work
People have been gunning for Lotus to fail since the day got crowdfunded.
The director and actor (both 19) for Spider-Man got cancelled on Twitter because some 9 (now 15) year old ex-friend of theirs leaked private messages from their instagram chat where they said the n-word and made dumb racist jokes (at 14). They were all white teens from Arkansas.
Warden Wayne, Spider-Man:
The last two messages might be fake, the name is "Warden Wayne" instead of "warden.wayne".
Gavin Konop, the director:
Remember these three innocuous screencaps, because they're used to justify everything that comes next.
Ironically, what got people the most angry were faked screenshots where the director, Gavin Konop supposedly called Jon Watt's MCU Spiderman movies "Garbo".
More faked screenshots, because people really, really wanted to make this guy look like a supervillain because he said the n-word at 14.
For the last 2 years, they've been subject to direct harassment from comic book twitter, with the actor for Spiderman getting memed as "racist Spiderman".
Gavin apologized and left the internet to finish the film, then came back earlier this year, making another apology, yet that still isn't enough for people.
Gavin can't post a single thing without people flooding his replies calling him a KKK member or a nazi.
The movie had a full house theater screening which got comic book twitter mad.
Before the movie released, people reviewbombed it on IMDB and Letterboxd, writing reviews repeating the same tired "jokes" calling the director and everyone involved racist:
After the movie released, people started making fake screencaps and leaking things like Gavin's phone number and college hoping to get him kicked out of school.
This fake screencap is especially pathetic because "kishkybe" had to write that entire paragraph to victimize himself Jussie Smolette until Gavin called him out on it.
And now people are spamming his phone with calls trying to harass him. Twitter is everything that people on Twitter say Kiwifarms is, Twitter likes feeling justified/morally righteous in their harassment.
This random indie movie kid is getting treated worse than Twitter treats actual criminals like Ezra Miller. Ezra Miller is a groomer who has physically beaten several women, yet he'll have a whole defense force of troons demanding people respect his bullshit pronouns.
Even after apologizing profusely, people still want this kid's life ruined over one singular screencap of him saying "nigga" at 14. It's honestly despicable.
(The Redacted faggot is a supposed father of two alogging a fucking 19 year old)
This stupid game of telephone has ended up with Twitter users accusing the Green Goblin actor of being a pedophile and somehow scrambling that to calling Gavin a pedophile. I'll add that when the file system stops sucking ass.
People need to start telling these white kids to stop using ghetto black slang, it's only setting themselves up for their fellow "bluds" to turn on them and rip them a new one.
Isn't just comics as it been American entertainment since at least the late 80ies to early 90ies. Kevin Costner's Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves movie is a very well known example as they made Robin Hood who had been a nobody in previous works to nobility in this one. And so on in later Robin Hood movies and shows.
It's actually very funny to me that she had more excitement & enthusiasm for doing Fast & Furious 10 than playing Captain Marvel in The Marvels. Seriously, just compare it for yourself.
Here's when she was asked about playing Captain Marvel again at D23 Expo, I can't find a better video sadly.
Here's from the Fast X premiere, you can find almost anything related to Fast X with her & she seems actively more happier than she does with Captain Marvel.
While it's a very short clip that one about Marvel does feel like there's a bit of bitterness there. Mostly I suspect targeted at the various people bitching about her online but there may be a hint of it to Disney as well for making it into a bigger deal.

I don't have any sympathy for her regardless. It was her decision and hers alone to be an absolute twat with the soapboxing and other crap surrounding Captain Marvel's release. All she had to do was be a humane and endearing personality even if Disney wouldn't let her act that way in her starring role, and her lizard-brain couldn't comprehend that.
That’s what I was wondering. I never really cared for Marvel (does not help I saw two of the worst movies from there with the family out of curiosity). Old DC seemed to be the better out of the two.
Couldn’t be assed to sit through the movies out of my own volition.
I doubt he is a father, considering how childish his attitude seems to be from his comments, or maybe he is recently divorced and hence why he seems desperate to drag someone else on the mud.
Yesterday I "legally" watched the new Sony Spiderman film with friends, it overall was alright but a lot of cringe. I'll start with my main criticisms before all the small nitpicks.
First of all, the film actively goes against the first film in moral. If the previous film was "everybody can be Spiderman", now Spiderman is a fucking literal universe spanning phenomenon that is completely the same with just a (literal) different coat of paint, up to all suffering the same events. The main "conflict" (in quotes because it isn't actually resolved) is about letting few people get hurt for the greater good, a classic children moral that is usually solved with some third choice/the victim choosing to sacrifice themselves, that makes the whole thing pointless, except that it's something that is predestined to happen which makes the thing have a lot more disturbing tone for a children film to tackle - ie, "kill your dad to solve global warming ".
Which is another issue, the film is another piece of media designed for manchildren rather than actual children. The references are endless, and are something that will mainly appeal to 30 year old nerds. The plot will probably be too complicated for children to follow as the film completely does 180 in the halfway mark for the whole Spider dimension plotline.
The whole spider verse is just a can of worms from a storytelling point: does the events still happen to animal version? Do the dimensions collapse once their Spiderman dies? The whole "canon" event set as an example wouldn't have happened without the hero's actions despite him being from a different dimension, so how is it possible to be canon? And why doesn't it just create a Final Destination esque situation? Wouldn't the officer dying in similar circumstances fiz the timeline?
Now for the nitpicks, the film is filled with political references for goodboy points:
* The only two white male Spidermen are jokes.
* Niggers fucking everywhere, including 60's comics where they would only be as villains.
* Diversity Spiderman including Fat women Spiderman, wheelchair Spiderman, hijab Spiderman (you know, the tool used to actively suppress women identity but is still considered as some cultural good).
* Black women doing all the tech and helping the protagonist despite only speaking 2 lines with him, and despite even his friends knowing it's a bad idea to help.
* MUH CULTURAL ETHNIC FOOD.
* Entirely political character who wouldn't been as bad if he was just a joke but is basically built up as a cool person doing the right thing.
* Having an India PooperPower dimension (imagine the smell) and still bitching about English colonialism, despite making no sense.
* Black person chasing white pussy. Including implications he got cucked but the clearly older person.
