Wait, episodes of what? There's a guardians of the galaxy tv show?
Pretty sure there was an animated show at least. Not related to MCU.

If you take a way a dollar from Disney for each time they announced their first openly gay character, then they would've gone bankrupt

Also phase 4 proved how mysogenist they really are: not only they can put a female character into problems to struggle and overcome, but neither they can make them badass and powerful villains, it's always the old white men privileged enough to get the spot...
Ironically, I'd say the best antagonist of Phase 4 was an old Asian man.

Phase 4 has just been a slog, personally, my fave film of it was black Panther 2 just because it felt like it has effort put into it. But Angela Basset carried that film, I did not hate the RhiRhi actress either. Lupita Nyong'o I don't dislike either as she is a versatile actress. I don't mind the film because it at least feels like a world and has a style. The story of grief was good too as it was not about just "oh it's better now", it feels like it's more about how to deal with it. I did now like Nimor, not the actor just it was just meh, see they should have kept Killmonger alive because he would have been great in this film. Also again not a bad actor either.

I think I liked it too because unlike the others it was tonally consistent, the director at least knew what he was doing and it must have been challenging as Chadwick Boseman was the strongest of the new actors as he had a presence about him and fit the role great. I kind of enjoyed it did not have a central character but following his family again ties the theme of grief well as it affects everyone differently. Again Angela Basset is a fucking powerhouse and her role as a grieving mother was perfect. I am biased though, I think she was perfect for that role and is such an underrated actress.

Sima Liu is an ungrateful little shit and belongs on a watch list as some weird CCP spy. Tarantino is an overrated director yes but he treats everyone equally, he even said he favors women protagonists. Kill Bill vol 1 and 2 and Pulp Fiction were incredibly diverse, fuck Uma Thurman became a literal trope for good female characters. for an actor he should be respectful of previous cinema.

I haven't seen a bigger divide between good film/ok protagonist and shitty actor like I have with Shang-Chi in a long time.

Well, this retard is back again responding to Quentin Tarantino's comments on how shit Hollywood is today.
He really is an idiot. Tarantino has had Rolling Thunder Pictures which in the 90s got eyes on many Asian movies such as Chungking Express and Sonatine.

Martin Scorsese made Kundun and his The Film Foundation has saved a number of asian cinema works. Also fun fact Disney has pretty much buried Kundun to avoid pissing China off.

Christ Kill Bill was a love letter to Asian cinema (sorry forgot to post) the point why he hired Lucy Lu was she was getting fucked over in Hollywood with these good girl roles and he cast her as Oren Ishi.

Agree, I kinda liked Shang Chi but hated the lead role, I actually liked Katy though the actress seems OK. The lead just emits nothing like Cumberbatch and has 0 presence. The father though was an OK actor too but nothing amazing and that is I think the issue with Marvel now. they hire these new actors who just are meh.

In films like Doctor Strange Olsen had to fucking carry the whole film. Hemsworth was emasculated, Portman was cast just to die, and no one will harass her to come back ever again. Eternals had Angelina Jolie who is a lead actress and cast her as a background character. Yet gives lead roles to shit actors and fucks over the good ones. don't even get me started with directors.

Paul Chato is right; new actors just do not have that royal jelly and the best way to maximize finding royal jelly actors is whether they were fuckable. Hence, the weird divide between charismatic actors that were popular in the late 20th century and literal who's playing teenagers. There's no 90210-kind of actors in the middle; you can have either Angelina Jolie or Zendaya, basically.

In general it feels like in 20-30 years there will basically be no one recognisable in Hollywood, all the very old celebrities dying, the old ones hitting a wall and the new ones have zero charisma. Tom Holland is probably going to keep playing teenagers until he's 50.

I think there's a good chance of studios just buying actor likeness and the deep faking scenes over stunt performers.

In 10-15 years there won't even be people in Hollywood. Everything will be "live action" CG characters voiced by AI's and performed by motion capture stuntmen.

Shit like Lion King was the test run for this kind of shit being passed as "live action".

I think some of it will remain purely to find work for the retarded children of elites as well as being a pipeline of whoring women and men.

Looks like the only thing worth watching in future will be things outside of Hollywood.

There was a movie about that with the gal from Princess Bride.
"The Congress"

Any long term predictions are worthless.

Joker with Phoenix, Tom cruise in Top Gun.

Hollywood is too big to become just CGI. What will matter is what people by. Just like today.

If everyone goes out and watches something terrible, like say, Multiverse of Madness or Love and Thunder; all their complaints don't fucking matter.

Companies follow profit without headache.

The video game by Square-Enix kind of beat them to it. Not entirely 1:1, but still.
given that it's a GOTG and he's one of the few Marvel characters that I'm a total fucking mark for then I'm going to hold out hope that it'll be the SHIT GETS REAL moment when his hair tie breaks and then it's all CARRY ON You Will Always Remember CARRY ON Nothing Equals This Splendor

This comment made me download and watch that movie. I'll go genuinely take marvel over if this is the alternative. It re-defines "pretentious" with actually awful writing that is designed in such a way where if you call the writing shitty the immediate response can always be "u just didnt get it bro" or "its not supposed to be about the story its about the message".

If your message is good but your story is shit then you're a shit movie. Having a good message isn't an excuse to have bad writing because you're making a story, not a soapbox.

Any individual plotline in this film is good enough for a whole movie or a miniseries, the deepfaked actors was intresting, the cyberpunk elements were great, the chemical paradise and its consequences were a great idea for a dystopia, the mother-son relationship was also an ok plot, but NONE of them are given any room to breathe.

The movie either needed to be 3 hours longer or pick 1 plot and focus on it. Or a be a miniseries.

The movie schizophrenically alters between the three plotlines and everytime the writers write themselves into a corner they just throw some technobabble your way and hope the animators pick up the slack, and because the animation has this "auteur arthouse" feel 99% of people who watch this will instantly forgive everyting because "it doesnt matter if it makes no sense lol it was trippy animation, that means its not supposed to make sense".

50% of this movie is trippy animation, if 50% of your movie doesn't make sense you made a shit movie.

Never before has a movie made me go "Ugh, can we go back to the real world already please?"

sorry i needed to rant because this movie pissed me off with how it squandered such intresting concepts worse than anything else ive ever seen
