Seems like Steve's collecting some superhero credentials. He's also the voice of Mark Grayson/Invincible in the show of the same name.

Edit:
Apparently his role will be "significant and integral to the future of the MCU." Maybe he's Sentry?
Oh hey. A good actor.
Honestly good for him, hope he makes some success. He's certainly better than the other Asian superhero actor they have.
Why the fuck wasn't he cast for the role? I know it was the writing that made the movie shit, but Steve knows how to add character.

Rocket is definitely out, otherwise Gunn's leaving the MCU with the biggest bait and switch we've seen in a while. Drax is also a certainty just because of Batista's comments recently. Gamora is an interesting topic, because she could very easily not hook up with Starlord and just go off on her own again.
What, why? I can understand not recasting Drax, but why Rocket? He's a cartoon. Literally anyone can do the voice.

I had fun with how stupid Quantumania was. The Antman movies aren't the greatest but I admit their a guilty pleasure of mine. Sometimes I just need a movie where I can shut my brain off and have a good time.

I was hesitant, because there were rumours that they made Ant Man into a total selfish jackass and terrible father and that he was mostly useless, setting up the Wasp and his daughter as replacements. Is that true?

The rumors were there. It was either antagonistic marketing on Marvel's part, or they reshot it after the expected reaction.

Now I wonder what'll happen to Kraven the Hunter being a vegan rumor. It's even harder now that a random Indian kino did a better job at Kraven the Hunter than Marvel could imaginably do, meaning the standards are high.

no

Scott's a decent father and I didn't get the impression that they were setting up anyone to take over for Scott; I think even Disney realizes that Paul Rudd is the last 'big' named actor they have that still wants to be involved in the MCU.

It appears that capeshit and particularly Marvel capeshit fatigue
Honestly I don't think such a thing as X fatigue exists. The movies are just hot garbage that's why people don't like them. Even "western fatigue" only came about because of hack producers pumping out low effort garbage.

Do you really think that marvel fatigue would still exist if all their movies were on the level of ironman or winter soldier?

Yes, fatigue will set in if the all movies have to be watched and in order to get the full story. No if the movies can be watched by themselves without needing to watch everything done before, beside and after it. Keep the shared universe to Easter Eggs for anyone really paying attention.

"Watching all the movies and shows to know what's happening" was always a meme and a cope to how braindead the franchise is. The films were made for the lowest common denominator and the entire franchise can be summarized in like 6 big events, which themselves are at most a paragraph.

The most you will get from watching other films/series is knowledge of why some characters are in where/state they are.

Only the captain america/avengers movies are really part of the larger 'arc' ignoring end credits clips which are really just teasers.

With how it's a Sony Supervillain movie, I won't be surprised if they keep it given these movies are just treating these villains as "anti-heroes" to set up some crossover movie like with what Morbius tried to do

Worst thing is, this homework bullshit is one of the big reasons people hate Western comics, mainly capeshit.

I would not be surprised if that actually happens.

You don't *really* need to watch *everything* to get it.

I've had people try to reason that if you didn't watch Dr. Strange, you wouldn't understand Infinity War because you'd have no idea who Doctor Strange is, and trying to explain to them that you don't need to know his backstory to understand within one minute that he's a fucking sorcerer who uses magic just makes them freak the fuck out. (This isn't even getting into how if you're that desperate to understand what's been up or who a character is you could just take a 5-10 minute look at a fucking wiki or youtube video to get caught up to speed.)

We live in an time where people think you need to know every fucking detail of a characters origin and life to understand a story. The vast majority of people are retarded and can't figure this out. And it feels to me like they've literally been conditioned this way by Disney and it's now starting to bite them in the ass.

Yes, selling the lie that you “must watch everything” was kinda integral to the success of phases 1-3. The reason it worked was because there was only like 2-3 movies a year, so it was actually very reasonable for someone to “watch everything” as it came out and trick themselves into thinking it’s all important.

That doesn’t really work when in the same time span you previously released 2-3 movies, you are now releasing half a dozen 8-10 hour long shows that are really just stretched-out movies. People come to the conclusion real quick that none of this shit matters.

Basically for Phases 1-3 you had people going to see even the movies that didn’t really interest them just because it might relate to the “overarching narrative”. That changed in Phase 4, where a lot of people are automatically passing on anything that doesn’t explicitly interest them.

Doctor strange in particular is useless since he doesn't work on any logic but plot logic. There is no magic system or even characterization and every scene with him is "I can do it since I'm a wizard".

But the last paragraph is so true, things like FNaF are built on autistic lore following rather than just get the gist of things and moving forward with life.

The only scene in the entire franchise that you need to watch a previous film to get is the one in Endgame where Thor meets his mother before her dying.

Nah, I think with sufficient brain power and context clues a non retard could still figure out that "Thors mom died and he is now seeing her one last time since he went back in time"

Maybe it won't hit the same or whatever, but it isn't something that should leave someone completely lost.

Before the 00ies this was how it was done in comics. Even the crossovers of characters from different companies who aren't Marvel and DC. Albeit minus the internet up until the mid 90ies for most people.

Did they confirm Star Lord is going to be killed off in Guardians 3 or is that just a persistent rumor?

I know lots of lefties and sjw types absolutely fucking hate Chris Pratt because he doesn't hate white people and goes to church or something.
They're not killing him off, but most likely pairing him up with Nebula and then riding off into the sunset.

This is maybe why they're making Nebula fat (she still looks fat in the trailer) as a way to send the Message that Male Gaze Gamora is bad and outdated.

Mainly due to the story. If he was gonna die at any point (and like I said, the trailer could be a series of red herrings), it'd probably be here.
Killing Rocket would be bad for merch though. He's still the fluffy kid appeal character so they might send him away with his wife.

I've heard they turned Cassie into an antifa little shit and at the end they kind of put blame on Scott for being "absent"

That's not even necessary. Thor tells Rocket in the same scene "She dies today"
