Of course, the real answer is "Writer Fiat" but I really wish there was any sort of hand wave like "Sephiroth used one time only soul magic to yeet her soul directly" or "Sephiroth shoved her body in a conveniently placed running wood chipper" or even the Bad End FF6 Shadow logic of "Not enough time, also the world just ended"
Nah, he real real answer is

"It's a Video game..with game play"

The "Why didn't They use Phoenix Down" shit is gay internet niggardry on par with "BUT WHY DOES THE DEATH STAR HAVE A THERMAL EXHAUST PORT!"

May as well also argue how Cloud is able to overpower and kill Sephiroth in the Nibelheim reactor before the game begins. I had more of an issue with that than the use phoenix down on Aerith or use soft on Seto arguments.
It is a localization issue the "Dead" status effect has always been "Ko" and revival stuff has only ever cured being knocked out and when things were being brought to the west they didn't ever make that distinction properly.
This really is the correct answer.

Didn't the second flashback show that he attacked Sephiroth from behind like a bitch?
I can't remember how that soda-can boxes pantomime went. I think it ended when Cloud lifts Sephiroth up by the blade end of the katana he'd just pointed at him and throws him like ten stories down where the Mako-punk steam tubes go into Mt. Nibel rock. Which is pretty bad ass.

Because vacuum doesn't transfer heat so you need some way to make sure the station does not cook its crew.
Yes, and its a Moon Sized station so...a person sized hole is....0000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of the surface area....which is much less of a weakness than most major military vehicles.

If anything realistically it probably had multiple "vulnerable" exhaust ports.

But then tropes have ruined people's understanding of reality.

They also have a ton of security around it from turrets to fighters they can scramble. It's unlikely anyone would even target that without in depth knowledge on the design and even then the station would probably intercept most things before they were even close to it, so the real unrealistic thing was that they waited so long to respond to the fighters given how big the station is. Maybe they're used to Star Destroyers where the ship is the weapon, but I'd assume they'd have a massive fleet on board.

Also even without all of that.

The Rebellion only won because they had a Force Sensitive person who ran into a Jedi to teach him how to use the force made the shot.

As someone who has never played any Final Fantasy I'm surprised at how well so many of these cards mesh with vanilla MTG. I suppose it does have "Fantasy" in the name.

The cards also communicate a clear flavor and intent that feels like it works within the game better than the in-universe sets.

Thancred, for example, has an effect we've seen on Kyodai and Aegis Angel. It's distinct, because he can only protect legendary creatures - and he has some kind of trickery that allows him to become indestructible. The abilities make sense at-face, even if you have no idea what a gunbreaker is or that he was at one point a rogue in the story. Meanwhile, why does Guardian Sunmare have ward? Why does it grab random stuff from your library? It just does.

Urianger is an astrologian who concocts convoluted plans that take forever to come to fruition, and he has foretell baked in to his draw effect. I don't think he needs the healing effect - the other two abilities are already strong - but it's there because astrologian is a healing class. Meanwhile, why does Kotis villainous wealth? Indestructible makes some sense - he's a zombie that's hard to kill, I guess? But why does he have his trigger, except that villainous wealth is a popular card?

I was having a discussion with a friend of mine about this set not having anything to support all the Chocobo stuff that's been coming out on Monday and Tuesday we get this birdy and honestly this thing goes hard.

Also Moogle Tribal wasn't in my 2025 Bingo list.

Hey it's Ur-Dragon. Trading eminence for landfall.

I for one wish MTG would slow down because it's starting to feel like a bunch of reruns.

Yeah Cloud struck Sephiroth from behind (ramming Sephiroth's own Katana into his back) while Sephiroth was standing in froint of Jenova's containment but Sephiroth survived it limped back and when Cloud attacked him again he easily struck Cloud with his sword. But Cloud using the power of rage lifted Sephiroth up and threw him into the Mako flow of the reactor before collapsing of his injuries.

Good morrow fellow retards, I see the thread isn't gushing bile about how bad every single spoiled card is, truth is, I am also excited! I'm going to punch my wallet in the gut by *TRYING* to collect every single Emet Selch card and they just announce a fucking K'rrik bonus style. I'm going to go so so so broke.

Also Moogle Tribal wasn't in my 2025 Bingo list.

I'm going to try and build moogle tribal as a deck to lend the newbies at the LGS because I personally think it's funny, but that's not a half bad effect for boros... this set is just somehow full of bangers.

I can tell you most of the set is bad in constructed, I see a few cards with potential but this looks to be the weakest set since Murders. But realistically this is a commander set that is legal in standard for no fucking reason and I'm optimistic for many of these commander cards in commander and if you are cracking packs for commander cards you'll probably do alright.

I disagree, there are alot of strong cards that won't see play because Standard is so large that it's a turn 3 format now, you can claim it's cause of "Muh power creep" but the Cori Steel Cutter deck is half Old spells a card that is rotating (and should have a long time ago) and a card that SHOULD be rotating this fall but aren't because WOTC are too fucking retarded to keep Standard Standard and turned it into Modern from 10 years ago.

There are cards who in 2 year Standard would be easily playable..which are also cards that if you went back to Core, Large, Small, Small or Large, Small, Large. Small would be the best cards in the format and it wouldn't be close.
