Man im so excited for the commander decks
So my experience with MtG is largely having a premade deck in high school because there weren’t enough Yugioh players at the comic shop, and then like four instances where a girl I was hanging out with, or her roommates, was into it; but if feels like Commander has totally overtaken normal play in the casual crowd.

I too am being hypnotized with consoomimg with the cards that are on point flavor wise.

Funny how the best ones are the good flavor cards.

This card is kinda nuts, and sabin should have blitz
Kain being a card gets passed around by players. Wakka racism manifesting in blowing up artifacts. Alisae and Alphinaud being partners. Lyse being useless. Zenos and his 1v1 boner. All those and more are so flavorful that i feel bad that i havent felt this excitement towards main MTG sets. Maybe Lorwyn will change that.

Commander is proxy friendly, the only make precons for commander, it's a more casual format, it's multiplayer, and you can tailor your desired level of competitiveness if you have a dedicated group.
Paper 60 card formats are very competitive and extremely fast as even standard which is supposed to be the weakest has an extremely low mana curve(unless you are cheating costs) and you can consistently die by turn 3.

If you want to play in person commander is the easiest to get a game going and it's the format if you want to play the big flashy cool shit, but even then power creep is hurting commander.

If they would put the care and effort they do in real sets and the lore that they put into this we would all have that level of hype for regular magic

Commander doesn’t rotate sets, right? Set rotation was Magic’s major defense from power creep. To compare, Yugioh’s defense was abject incompetence from day one. Hasbro has also clearly replaced the decision makers with people who, even if they didn’t hate the game, lack the ability to understand the game mechanics they are releasing.

The big problem that causes power creep is the amount of cards printed these days, even with zero power creep larger card pools will inherently end up with stronger decks.

Man im so excited for the commander decks, they look fun especially the Yshtola one, as FF14 enjoyer it hits my dooamine receptors seeing the scions together and best of all no fucking Wuk Lamat.
Personally I'm looking forward to using Kuja to make Shadow Wizard Money Gang a deck

Sad that Kafka isn't a diplomacy commander so I can't do betrayal, but it's 3 color and lets you touch cards while making your opponents drop cards so he's probably playable

Current standard decks could beat older modern decks at this point. Standard is a rotating format and modern isn't.
Printing cards meant to see play in eternal formats like legacy, modern, and commander plus FIRE design which makes cards retardedly pushed so feel bads don't happen has made is so non rotating formats pseudo rotate as well.

Kuja as a card has more flavor to it than the entirety of Aetherdrift

I honestly thought he would look gayer, but on a gameplay note is it better to flip him fast or do you want to accrue more ping wizards first?

Bro thats a cool idea that ill probably steal. Ive never played with Wizards tribal in the game so it will be interesting to nuke them with the tokens. Also an excuse to order Shadow Wizard Money Gang tokens.

MtG Vivi is adorable, and his ability reminds me of him swaying in place with sparkles as he costs his magic. Excellent art in this set. Aerith is selling a flower, just like when we first meet her, but also incorporates her death with an ability, and another with her at her peak like her later limit breaks. Aerith bonded with Lifestream would be a great card. Tifa and Cait Sith look great too. No idea why SOLDIER Military Program is white. I'd think Mako showering and Genova cell therapy should be red/blue and green respectively.

Turn 1: forest, llanowar
Turn 2: mountain, Firion
Turn 3: land, summoner's grimoire, attack and put Bahamut into play attacking.

This of course requires you opponent to have zero removal but this is the fastest way to play Bahamut.

This is the fallacy of Modern as well.

No, you technically don't rotate sets, but power creep is a thing because they want to sell new shit to Commantards (and other formats too but mostly Commantards).

Well alot of the problem in Modern when it comes to the power of the format is that...Fatal Push is a stupid fucking card that cuts out any low drops that don't give instant value or are recursive in some way.

Scam existed because they printed 4 variants of the same card in 2 years.

Energy is a Mistake mechanic and should never have been brought back without having some way to clear it for the cheap.

Nadu...is a weird case of them rightly changing* a card and half assing the new version with no testing.

*The other Nadu would 100% been as awful to play against, Instant Speed Uncounterable (thanks Delighted Halfling) Simic Good Legends wouldn't be AS bad as the combo deck Nadu but it still would have gotten very old very quickly.

I think you want more then the one or two you'd get in a normal game before he'd flip normally. I'm not sure how many token doublers you can find in rakdos but you can at least get some red temp clones. At least you can get damage doublers/additions but they are somewhat crippled because your wizards are black and not red so you can't use the red matters ones. I think the deck is probably going to look more like a rakdos storm deck in the end.
